Protests following the killing of George Floyd

Both police brutality and racism are intolerable, but that doesn't mean we can merge them into one single issue. Similar to murder and rape, you can't call a murderer also a rapist just because the victim happens to be a female, unless the culprit has committed sex crimes before or there's a strong evidence supporting the theory.

Interesting enough I came across a series few weeks ago talking about a similar situation. In episode 4, most of the subjects (including white, black, Hispanic and Asian) shot at the black guy when he popped up together with the white guy. Yes, even black people shot at the black guy instead of the white. It's the bias deep down in our heart rather than racism which causes us to make that decision.

UKIP talking sense shocker:

I normally disagree with UKIP. And here, I also disagree with them. Of course not everyone is rioting, but those who are are not contributing to the solution; they are actively detracting from it.

That’s a terribly narrow minded way of thinking, you’re criticising people for posting thought provoking quotes on a very emotive subject because they’ll do nothing, you’re criticising protesters and rioters because they’ll do nothing, you suggest people just sit on their hands and do nothing. And nothing will ever change anyway.
Forgive me for thinking you have a very negative view on the subject, the only for change is action, or else you right things will never change..

You can make change in certain ways but posting quotes on social media and vandalising properly doesn’t do anything. Never has, never will.

That isn't actually true

All I can see is that riots divert from any sort of meaningful progress which can be made.

1) Some part of this news cycle has been diverted from the actual message of police brutality and equality to the riots which have took place.
2) Rioting hurts the community, white and black people all over the place will be effected by it (whether they own the shops which are being rioted or are living in the neighbourhood and are scared)
3) Gives right-wing media and persons an excuse to talk about the riots and play up racist stereotypes (i.e. black people are unhinged) which have contributed to past instances of police brutality. This in turn means that more people are radicalised to conform to this point of view.

Believe it was posted last night that her profile was quickly deactivated.

That's a PR disaster for an influencer, she made her accounts private.

It would have a been more productive to actually help the guy.

You neglect the fact that the news cycle wouldn't be as big without it, also the reaction of the establishment against it, and the narrative some chose exposes their agendas.
Riots create pressure for the establishment.

Also, be aware that the protests against these types of things did not start with rioting, and I am not talking about just this incident. There have been plenty of other protests and measures taken before this thing turned into a situation where rioting became a thing.

Riots in HK is anyone saying that is detracting from their agenda?

I take that point on board but I would still argue that there are less positives than negatives when it comes to the effect of rioting.

I disagree the person reading the quotes might actually be propelled to make some kind of change and the vandalism well am sure the powers don’t want any of it so they might be a little more sympathetic when it comes to negotiations.

If you are enraged, you should consider donating to these organizations. Even if you can't, I encourage you to get yourself familiar with the work they do. I know there are a lot of bailout funds going around but these are some of my go-to organizations.

I donated what i could spare to NAACP the other day. I didn't do that much research tbh.

Vid of this from another angle (at 33 secs) and you also see another one hit the female reporter as she was getting out the way

You can guarantee that Trump has had every one of those vetted to ensure they are 100% raging Trump mentalists.

It's not fair! She said "good job guys" she said "BLM". What more do you want?

The way she threw out that “BLM” at the end of the video was beyond cringeworthy, it’s clearly nothing more than a hashtag and sound byte to her vapid mind.

That said, she doesn’t deserve having her life destroyed by the twitter mob. If all that’s happened is her followers and likes have disappeared then fine, but with the camera zooming on her licence plate I imagine she’s been targeted by now.

Nothing personal against her but I want all influencers to face the same fate as all organisms during the K-T extinction.
