Protest at Old Trafford

To everyone that was at Old Trafford today - I love you all!

Except Keith, you know what you did...

Think they vastly under estimated how many people would turn up and did not deploy enough security staff and police. Which is good in a way as it shows how many people are angry.

Maybe the few who resorted to violence were fifth columnists put there by ...the Glazers?

Exactly. A line needs to be drawn. Do we consider Manchester United to be a property of the Glazers or do we consider it to be a football club that was purchased via hostile acquisition? To me the Glazers are fecking leeches because of who the great club is lagging behind. The facilities are outdated, the fans are not taken into account, the debt was literally saddled onto the club to make sure that the parasites are able to take the club over and milk it. Feck the cnuts, feck the leeches, feck the parasites. Love United: Hate Glazers. Screw them.
This is poetry

A stock listing seems most realistic at the moment I guess, but that obviously leaves us open to another takeover eventually.
Guess that is the risk. Plus if a £4 bill club goes to the stock market it will be run like any company for profit maximisation, but there will of course be a difference when there are many different owners compared to one. No easy ways out unfortunately.

The majority of the violence seems to have occurred when the police engaged the protesters and attempted to disperse them, unsurprisingly there was a little bit of kickback from the protesters but nothing to write home about. It will be made out to be some sort of mass violence but it really was a storm in a teacup.

I'm not condoning the violence but you have to ask why did the police actually engage the protesters? For what reason? The game was almost certainly going to be called off, why didnt they just call the game off and allow the protest to disperse naturally once the protesters had got what they wanted all along.

Sounds like someone didnt do a risk assessment, and decided to put the officers and protesters in harm's way for absolutely zero gains.

What a proud day to be a United fan.

It was a proud day. I've been going home and away for 20 years. I cant think of many better.

But you focus on that one incident mate.

I'm skeptical of Police claims of injury.

Only last month during protests in Bristol the Police lied about several officers having injuries such as broken rips - it was reported widely then quietly days later the Police admitted no Police suffered injuries. It's a PR war.

It proper kicked off with them when they decided to move everyone on for no apparent reason. Can definetly see an injury or two occurring, got pretty lively.
