Protest at Old Trafford

If you really want to make a difference, show up for the Thursday night Tampa Bay Home Opener. The US press will be there to cover the Super Bowl Champions. They feel no pressure sitting in Tampa when they see the proests so far away from them. To make a difference the fight has to be taken to Tampa
 
A great day for this football club, as ridiculous as that may seem right now.
 
Getting the game postponed is a massive statement from the fans. I cannot imagine all of the sponsors will be happy that the biggest game in English football was cancelled. Money talks and sponsors will be seething at this and the bad publicity. This is the way to get the Glazers out. Hit them where it hurts. Keep going red army. Proud of you

He even mentioned the term sportwashing, clearly referring to Manchester City, the Glazer ownership (vacuming money out of the club), Kroenke doing the same etc and even went on an said that the amount of money fans pay for this product is beyond belief. I don't understand how any of this will pressurize Glazers to sell really. All this is doing is disturbing the players and the manager. Glazers will sell when they get a buyer willing to pay their price, else they will be happy to keep drawing dividends. Nothing fans do in England is going to ruffle their feathers in Florida.

I'd rather us be relegated and be rid of the Glazers than join a ESL in 3 or 4 years time to be honest.

It’s honestly like people have never watched a non Premier League game. A flare got thrown onto the seat covering at Old Trafford and everyone is crying. One of the last games I went to abroad a firework got aimed onto the pitch (not that I’m condoning that).

I don't disagree. Who gives a shit about broken cameras. It's innocents getting hurt that is unacceptable. I think the idea of boycotting matches and not buying United shirts/memorabilia - hitting the Glazers financially where it hurts is a better path. Mobilize large scale peaceful protests outside the ground. Organize large scale and united but peaceful protest actions by fans in the ground before and during matches. There are a lot of things that can be done to get attention and win support for the movement. I think getting the government on board with legislation is also a great tactic but I don't think you can really legislate a business owner out of owning a company or business without being very creative.

A few idiots throwing beer bottles at police etc does more to hurt this movement. I think that's pretty clear based on the divided opinion between pundits, media and fans after today's protest.
 
100% agree with the protest today and was proud of the 1000s of fans who made their voices heard peacefully and within the law. However I was very disappointed with those who decided to fight with police and break into the ground. Fortunately they were the minority, and whilst their actions should not be ignored we need to put the focus back on the peaceful protest which was much needed and has delivered a significant message that Glazers have no place in our club anymore.

We need to see peaceful protesters in their thousands at every home game and when fans are allowed back in the grounds these should be vocalised when the TV cameras are on.

On a side note I was very disappointed with the attitude of Sky Sports presenter David Jones today. His continued need to focus on the minority and ignore the thousands that made their voices heard legally left a very sour taste in the mouth. A shame as he is usually an excellent presenter.

Yes. Have to say that I was particularly interested in both what and the way Carriger spoke. He sounded more like a football fan than an ex Liverpool player. Same for Gary Neville.
Completely different to Souness who couldn't resist digs at United and its supporters. Nasty piece of work.

If not:
Make a commitment of zero dividends for shareholders until we actually win major trophies. Meaning all revenue generated by club goes into the club.
Glazer family will pay any and all fines relating to ESL involvement with a commitment to no further talks.
Bring Van Der Sar in as CEO or someone with actual football experience and success.

Joel - are you sure they broke the lock? It can't be fixed with a screw of something. A new lock is too expensive. Maybe we can buy an over priced iron slab and mould it into a lock?

Jokes apart - it's possible there is no broken lock. The staff may be in on it.
 
It will always be some assholes. It will not take away my feelings about the protest. So proud of them. I wish I were present myself.
 
The Glazers might increase the transfer budget by a couple of million.

I think the majority of people who are 'outraged' here and in the media have an agenda are doing so in bad faith

The chance of finding a buyer that fits that category is actually very low. And even some of those wouldn't be considered acceptable e.g. Saudi interest.

It is tough one, as the Glazers are bad but yeah it could certainly be worse. I don’t know if a group of very rich people who want good for the club and aren’t totally reprehensible could be an answer. I think most would be fine with foreign owners if this was the case. It doesn’t sound that unrealistic, but of course the right people may just not exist.
