Protest at Old Trafford

Full respect for your actions today. Be proud of that.

Brilliant example for fans everywhere. Together we have more power than the owners.

Good luck

Violence can never be answer to anything. Shame on those who where doing that. Doesn't matter if you are fan or policeman.

Media will now exaggerate this, for better and worse. And already doing it. However, this is nothing compared to how it goes in the southern/eastern countries of Europe.

Are we sure this is footage from today?

I've seen no mention of it on Sky and both Gary and Carragher said from what they saw the protest was peaceful.

Surely, they would have mentioned this?
Definitely happened today. Saw it live on NBC's broadcast here in the States. Looked like he had stitches and a butterfly bandage with blood still on his face. The cop was walking by and chatted with Neville and Carragher. He was actually smiling and seemed in good spirits.

I must say, watching all the videos made me well up. Great to see that some of the frustration is getting airtime on Sky - even though the headlines are trying to get a different spin.

Saw kids singing and holding flares. Big groups of local families all there with banners.

Then the organisation to get Liverpool boxed in at the hotel.

Shows what we can do. No other fanbase can call on what we can. Savour it.

Thanks, I've seen it widely reported now after the police made their statement.

I just thought it was odd at the time that it was just in that one clip that seems cropped horizontally and no one else mentioned it.

Hot work protesting is.

It seems the police strategy nowadays is confrontation with boastrous crowds. They did that at the demostration held for the unfortunate woman murdered by a policeman and now United. You can see on the video that the police "pushing" the crowd and the crowd reacted.
If that made its way to the news the whole story would change direction. Brilliant!

Hard to feel too outraged at the copper getting some digs in. If we’re not going to let a few fans being thugs tarnish the protest as a whole I don’t think we can also take mortal offence at a few coppers getting carried away. For all we know they just saw one of their pals have his face opened with a bottle so understandable if they’re a bit strung out.

I must say I am embarrassingly ignorant about this, but what are the realistic alternatives if the Glazers decide to step down? Who would have the money and the will to buy United? Or are there other alternatives?
Umm duh... spoony from the caf

Except they're trained not to.

Completely and utterly support the fans behind this. It's their city, their club. They have spent tons of money and emotion for many years and have every right to show their discontent.
