Protest at Old Trafford

Has a “peaceful” protest ever achieved anything? The French Revolution didn’t happen because of a crowd of people holding hilarious meme-signs. I must stress, I’m not asking for anybody to get hurt, but come on. Enough is enough, if they can get the game delayed or postponed, that will be a big statement. The ruling class has done a great job of convincing the wider populace to be outraged over any protest that isn’t just a quiet crowd. A result of such peaceful times in the west, I suppose.

The French are much better than us at it, ironically

Oh noes broadcasts dont like potential situation where game might be cancelled.

How is it brilliant.
It's pointless scum behaviour.

You don't bully billionaires out.
Sorry that my sarcasm didn’t come through well there.

It’s fecking pathetic, even more so that the ‘ard cnuts on here apparently condone this idiocy.

The people talking about yobs fail to realise we have this escalation because our greedy owners have been draining us for years and tried playing their final card in the most disgraceful manner.

They tried making changes to the fabric of this club and its history when its loyal fans had been locked inside for a year, suffering job losses and unable to attend games.

So to the holier-than-thou warriors on here that think this is too far, maybe you should move the blame onto the Glazers?

Finally, very rarely in history do you see real change unless the party in power opposing that change has its hand forced. It seems to me some people on here need to read up a bit on their history and see how the rights they take for granted have been won in the past.

We've got more fans inside the ground and this time they've actually come from the back of the stand and one or two have decided to roll down the tarpaulins towards the pitch.

At the moment its about 20 or 30, many of whom with hoods up with masks on fans and once again they're chanting "we want Glazers out".

We're being advised to move away from where we are broadcasting from.

If you're against this type of protest then you're basically pro glazer tbh.

Fair play and massive respect to everyone at the protest. This was 100% needed.

Nice to see people, that are doing feck all, condemning those that are trying whatever is possible and necessary. You have no right to moan against the Glazers, the club, the manager or the players for any matter.

Apologies brother. I never know on here.

No, it idiotic. The owners won't give a flying one about any of this with so much equity (profit) further down the line.

Apparently the ref has been turned away from the stadium. We'll probably end up giving away the three points for this.

Where have you heard that? BBC have said otherwise and theat the vehicle Michael Oliver was in was allowed through.

If they were serious about protesting, they should've sat on the pitch and refused to move.

The Glazers won't care. They'll sell the club when it suits them (not any time soon) and when they do the sad reality is that we'll probably be an oil money club.

Why don't you show them how to do it?

According to BBC text commentary another batch have gotten into the stadium? Surely kick off at least delayed.

Stan Collymore is the real winner today. He’s the only thing on my Twitter feed.

I wonder what the rules are regarding punishment, not a good look for United nonetheless.

In the grand scheme of things, that might be a worth sacrificing, because it sends the world a message of what United fans think of the Glazers, and it'll be embarrassing for them.

It would also alienate a large portion of United fans who would be fine with protests and even the pitch invasion but would object to the team actually losing out on points to Liverpool as a result of the protests.

There's a balance to be struck in protests like this to prevent fans turning on each other.

It'll be remembered for fans looking like prats by running on the pitch, stealing corner flags, throwing cameras etc. Is that a positive statement for a 50+1 system?

Glad you know exactly how it’ll be remembered.

Yes, protest should only be allowed via strongly worded letters or emails.

FFS. Learn some history. We would be in a pathetic situation as a country without what protest has gained for us.
