Suspect a few well timed baton swings will persuade them otherwise.I read that United fans will not let the player bus drive??

Likely.Did the security just let them in to avoid confrontation? Would make sense.
Exactly. Nothing changes unless you interrupt. They’ll walk all over people until shit happensAstounded by the reaction on here being so mixed. We need change. That doesn’t happen by standing outside holding a banner ffs.
In these times it's quite bizarre to see supporters inside the stadium. Around 200 fans broke through the megastore end, many wearing the green and yellow scarves, the original colours of Newton Heath, and many wearing baseball caps with their faces covered.
They chanted for the Glazers to get out of their club and many gathered in front of the Sky Sports presentation platform, chanting towards the pundits. One fan did decide to throw a flare into the direction of that platform.
A few fans did pick up some chairs and threw them as they made their way onto the pitch. Ground staff are still removing litter off the pitch.
Five or six actually made it down the tunnel towards the dressing rooms. The club tells us that dressing rooms weren't breached and no fans made it inside, but we've just seen a young man led out of the tunnel and down the pitch. The word is that fans have now been cleared from the interior of the stadium.
The next tricky moment is when the two coaches arrive, because the suggestion is that the fans will do their very best to make a barrier to stop the teams actually making their way on site here.
We'll have to see how that plays out in the next half hour or so.
It’s what happens in so many protests and why I am generally disillusioned with them. Went on many in my late tens and early twenties for a number of things, before swearing never again. They’d generally have an element more intent on inciting violence and causing vandalism, and the majority wouldn’t have an informed opinion anyway. The number of disciplined and committed protests that actually positively contribute to their cause is minimal.Imagine generalising an entire group of protestors based on the actions of a minority.

99% of those in attendance today are generational United fans who fill terraces up and down the land - and further afield - wherever and whenever United play. Yet we have bleeding hearts here condemning their actions, the same people who have never set foot in Manchester before, let alone the ground. Go figure.
We have the best supporters in Britain, bar none. If any fanbase can eradicate a parasite, it’s ours. Well in, lads.
Hearing the game may be off? Anything official yet?
No United supporter would throw a missile at Roy Keane. Majority that invaded the stadium just there for the trouble. Are they really fans or just folks making trouble? Surely they would make their point protesting outside. I hope they call the police.
Might happen yet if anybody has found a hiding place in there.I'm not advocating this but wouldn't it have been slightly more prudent to get in the ground somehow and interrupt the match itself?
Anyway, fans have done well so far. Just keep it peaceful. Keep going.
Camera was tossed as well.- Gary Flintoff (BBC)
-So the only damage confirmed is some chairs thrown around and a flair thrown in the direction of a press platform.
-The megastore and stadium were breached. The dressing room was not breached.
Perhaps there’s security working who are anti-Glazer.Did the security just let them in to avoid confrontation? Would make sense.

Think that would just affect the players and staff more than it would the owners.I'm not advocating this but wouldn't it have been slightly more prudent to get in the ground somehow and interrupt the match itself?

Don't think there's anyone at the Lowrey, it's the case they don't want to travel to OT until the protest outside have stopped.Rebecca Lowe of NBCSN saying the protesters are attempting to prevent the player's buses from leaving the hotel
Great post.
Anyone sanctimoniously having a go at lads who have gone out today to fight for our club should give their heads a wobble.
Oh well guess nobody should say anything then, its all pointless so why bother. Maybe we should stop singing songs at games too.And the Glazers will get away with everything they currently are doing and the only people who will be prostecuted are the people who broke into the stadium.
we can make as much racket as we want but unless someone comes in with billions of pounds to buy the club nothing will change.
- Gary Flintoff (BBC)We watched the supporters make their way through the barriers and on to the playing surface. They congregated towards the players' tunnel and were holding flares, one of which was thrown towards the TV presentation position. The stewards stood in their positions, watching on, and it was a surprise that the fans managed to make their way through the barriers. I don't think they really wanted to destroy anything - after all, this is their Theatre of Dreams - but they wanted to make their point as forcefully as they could and they will feel that they have sent a very clear message to the Manchester United ownership.
Perhaps there’s security working who are anti-Glazer.
Again, we don't that. Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. We should all be supporting non-violent protests against the Glazers. We can't judge everyone by the actions of an idiotic few. We need the dust to settle and then make informed judgements. No United supporter would throw a missile at Roy Keane. Majority that invaded the stadium just there for the trouble.
Doubt they're even watching it on NBC. The staff in charge will be sorting it out and dealing with the aftermath and the owners will just sit back and continue doing what they do.Owners who never show up to matches aren't going to be arsed by this anyway.
It's the staff, the players and everyone else who is, and they're the ones who have done nothing wrong.
It's amazing how many of you suddenly think trespassing is an ok thing to do
Needs to pull his pants upThe guy being shown just now on NBC is the guy who tossed the camera. Saw him again a bit ago trying to pull one of the big tarp banners up off the seats. He was just on the pitch again. Making quite a day of it.
Very hard to organise a large obvious protest using those methods. Not buy tickets. Protest to sponsors. Not watch televised games.
Suspect a few well timed baton swings will persuade them otherwise.
I think if it had been 100% peaceful the message would have been really strong. It’s going to be muddled now and in some ways even damaging. We want the media on our side images of fans smashing media equipment is really un helpful. It does and has already done the damage in some degree.
But, I think the pitch invasion is needed at least for today. If we can continue the large scale protests outside the stadium for every home game, it at least sent the strong message. Really hope those parasites out of our club!
That’s fecking brilliant. My mate is at the Lowry and he's next to a guy on his phone talkin to somebody at the ground and telling him to get in to the changing rooms before the Liverpool coach arrives. Making the changing rooms no longer covid safe and having the game scrapped
No, it idiotic. The owners won't give a flying one about any of this with so much equity (profit) further down the line. That’s fecking brilliant.
