Astounded by the reaction on here being so mixed. We need change. That doesn’t happen by standing outside holding a banner ffs.
And how does it happen by a few hundred people breaking into the stadium to ruin the hallowed turf and take a few pictures in their 5 minutes of fame? They turned a brilliant protest with people, banners, scarves, posters and flares into a riot which will only serve to attract negativity and distract the players.
A few things needs to happen if they are to sell:
1) Bad press, and that can happen if our fans protest vehemently but peacefully OUTSIDE the stadium, and I applaud those who did. The people who went in the stadium have brought all the bad press on themselves while looking like raving lunatics. I guarantee you there will be a few stories coming out in the next few days which paint the Glazers as victims now. These people have just set all of us back a few months and protests.
2) Boycott. A complete boycott of season tickets by locals, one off tickets by overseas fans, merchandise, the gift shop and anything related to the Glazers. Plain and simply, no profits = Glazers relinquishing power.
Also, adding on to all this, what was the point of protesting at the Lowry? Seriously, how does this affect the Glazers? It just distracts and bullies Ole and the players when they are clearly as distasteful of the Glazers and their plans as all us fans.
