Would be nice seeing Brady in action. He's very talented but really if he wants to make it here he will have to become a little versatile in his positions. The left wing position is pretty well stocked.

As a backup left back he could get quite a few games.

BTW somehow had just asked Rio, how long his career at United is going to be.

Fergie and Carrick doing the pre-match presser soon. Wonder if he's banned questions about RvP.

Obviously not

Sir Alex Ferguson confirms that #MUFC have bid for Robin van Persie. "We've shown an interest but there are other clubs interested."

"Obviously Arsenal have given out the fact that we've made a bid for him," the manager told MUTV.

"We try to keep business as close as possible to us until the moment we conclude a deal. There's no point talking about something that might not happen.

"There are other clubs interested in the player. We've shown an interest and that's where we're at at the moment."

Fergie talking openly about a transfer... perhaps it's a smokescreen

He's never minded talking openly about players when the player's club has confirmed offers. He also talked about Senna and Hargreaves.

I get the opposite feeling. He's been incredibly classy at Arsenal and he was incredibly down to earth when I met him last year.

RVP does seem to have come on leaps and bounds with his mentality in the past year or so. I'm sure a younger RVP would take the money straight away, but the more mature one could certainly be convinced we're the better choice

The boss says he's very impressed with Kagawa's professionalism and is sure he will settle quickly. Confirms he will start tomorrow.

SAF: "The players who are training with Kagawa now are realizing the qualities he has. He's doing very well & I'm very happy."

I doubt RVP will come to us, money will talk with him he seems that type.

He wants silverware and money. We must accept and admit that ManC is a great option?!

But, I have a feeling he wants to join us (I don´t blame him) , and perhaps is our bid based on this knowledge?

I can not see that we need him, but believe the partnership Kagawa / Van Persie has the opportunity to be even better than Kagawa / Lewandowski. It would be a shame for Hernandez and Welbeck though

18:54 Michael Carrick is now talking. "I've had as long a rest as I've had in all my career - probably seven weeks," he says. "I feel fresh and revived. Sometimes you need that break to go again. The enthusaism and desire is there and we want to bounce back from last season. I am determined to play a part, start the season well and help the team win trophies."

18:47 On Shinji Kagawa: "There are similarities to Park in terms of their work ethic and discipline. He's been outstanding in training and he'll play tomorrow. We're very pleased with him. He is like Ji - excellent to work with, disciplined and there will be no problems with him settling into the club. The players who are training with him now are realising the qualities he has. He has quick feet, he's two-footed and had a good goal ratio with dortmund. He's doing very well and I'm very happy."

18:45 On using the full squad: "We've brought over 20 players with us and we want to get them all game-time. We always hope we can finish the tour without injuries. We haven't brought several players who are regarded as the backbone of our team, who have been involved in the Euros and others at the Olympics, and three who are recovering from injuries. We still have experienced players with us - Berbatov, Carrick, Chicharito, Scholes, Rio. We'll play our strongest side to begin with tomorrow and introduce some young players later on."

18:42 Sir Alex on the two games in South Africa: "We're delighted to continue our tour. We had a good game in Durban - it was pretty even. We did well in the first half and it was played in the right spirit. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same with a full house. We'll try and entertain as best we can and we'll make two or three changes. We hope to win the match and we hope everyone enjoys the match."

Well that it settles it then.

Just as bad as a hunch that "he's all about the money." Who knows anything about the guy, except for the fact that he wants to leave Arsenal to win trophies? We've got half a chance as we are a club that can win them, although his feelings for Arsenal may take him abroad.

Heh it's a bit strange comparing Kagawa with Park just because they're both Asian.

..

Heh it's a bit strange comparing Kagawa with Park just because they're both Asian.

Or maybe he was comparing their attitudes and work rates, both of which are indirectly attributable to the cultures they come from.

I've never heard SAF wax lyrical so much about a new player.

SAF says United have not reached an agreement for Lucas Moura but have shown an interest in him

Fergie on Moura: "We haven't reached an agreement. We've shown interest. Until such time we reach an agreement we can't say he's ours"
