Premier League Matchweek 5 16th-18th September

feck off. This is just depressing. What's the point in even trying to win the league now when City just look so amazing.
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbour? Hell no!

Midweek is nothing to judge us by anyway given the number of changes made. Had it been the first team losing like that, then I could understand worries.
Most of us keep mentioning the changes, but some still seem to think it should have been better.

Wow. City are tearing it up. They look stunning aswell.

It reminds me of when United used to play. Team was already beaten at the beginning of the game.

They are in great form. They play football so "simply", attack the space and what not....
They release the ball so muck quicker than us and they have good movement. The 2 main reasons why their attack is flowing well, unlike us full of slow players and slow thinkers.

City started like this last season.
Then KDB got injured. He was one of their catalysts last season too iirc.

City are on another planet, going to take some beating this year. Bloody Pep, making it look easy.
At least it puts away the pathetic comments that he won't be able to do it on England. Like football in England was a totally different sport, and that the cannon fodder was anything else but cannot fodder.

There are no easy matches in England, they said. Of course there are, as long as there are top teams too.

Man City won their first 5 games of the season last season, still far too early to determine anything

You mean the Bayern Munich who had just won the treble? The Bayern Munich that had just beaten Juventus 4-0 on aggregate and Barcelona 7-0 on aggregate? That Bayern lackled dominance against big teams? That Bayern didn't play with authority?

I'd further add that his bayern side got dominated by Barcelona and Real Madrid in two Semi Finals.

Guardiola is a good enough manager with enough of a cv to not have to create imaginary, obviously bullshit praise.
Firsy of all, can you calm down? No they weren't. They had a golden 6 months period where everything clicked. Guardiola did that over 3 years and more consistently. That period at the end of Heynckes' reign really gets exaggerated by a lot of people because of the impressive way they beat Barcelona in that semi. Guardiola came in and it became the norm that their opponents were playing as deep as average teams usually play against top teams. That's what I mean by getting them to play with that level of authority.

Against Real in Germany, that was most definitely the worst mark in his CV, for whatever reason, he f up. The Barcelona game was a different story however, if anyone is making up things it's you. People tend to rewrite history based on who came out winners. That was simply a case of maybe the best player in history deciding after an hour or so that he is going to show why he is who he is by going on and winning the game. What preceded that was maybe the best performance by an away side at the Nou Camp in recent years without some significant players at his disposal.

I'm ashamed to say I was someone who thought he'd find it harder here than he did in Spain and Germany. It's made absolutely no difference and although it's far too early to say, you wouldn't bet against them winning it at a canter at the moment.

West Brom four goals. Their fans must think Christmas has come early. Karma for West Ham ripping off the Great British public.

Excellent post. There are even Bayern supporters who stick to that same nonsense about Heynckes vs. Pep.

After Guardiaola took over Bayern they went from bumming the other elite clubs in the European Cup to being on the receiving end.
What bumming do you mean except the Barcelona game? Against the worst Barcelona teams of the past 8 years might I add? They beat Juventus on that run, again an inferior Juventus team to the one when he took over. Who else did that team bum because from where I am looking, they beat Real on pens, lost to Chelsea at home and had a very close head to head with Dortmund.

Amazing, 4-0 for West Brom.

That's 11 goals in the last 3 games that West Ham have conceded.

The season has only just started and you lot have shot out of the traps..whats City going to be like on all cylinders?

All the top sides will get better. It all depends on how long it takes other teams to work out a system to stop us. I don't think parking the bus will work, and putting alot of pressure on up top worked for you guys a bit 2nd half but with KDB and Gundogan passing the ball, plus Sterling and Nolito's pace we look good on counter too. Eventually someone will work out something though and we'll find it tougher.
