Premier League Matchweek 3 (26-27 August)

Arsenal should have got rid of Wenger after that Champions League game where we battered them 3-1. How many years ago was that? Crazy that he's still there.

Did anyone catch which Arsenal player Martin Tyler just mentioned as wanting to stay and fight for his place?

I don't think it would because they need their team to grow together - not constantly getting picked off one by one (Mashcerano, Xabi, Suarez, maybe Coutinho). Coutinho is a top player and their team as a whole is better off with him than without. They'd have to get extremely lucky with their buys in order to compensate losing such a player - a risk too high in my opinion as if the other three did step up they'd just leave, too, which would have them back at square one.

They wouldn't buy them to replace him, they would buy him to improve the overall quality of the squad in other positions.

It's not even the scoreline. Arsenal losing this isn't a big deal and 3-0 can happen. It's how spineless and lacking in focus, cohesion and intensity they appear to be.

Ozil won something like 5 of the last 6 "Germany play of the year" awards, including the last two years. I swear, he's the biggest fraud in football history.

So was Klopp selecting Karius just an elaborate piss-take at Arsenal's expense?

We're dreadful. Tough season ahead, and the medium term (1-4 year) future of the club is worse than it's been at any point in Wenger's reign. Hard to see reasons for optimism - maybe a Europa League run.
Not just being an arse but I don't think you're even good enough to win that.

It helps that arsenal are playing at amatuer level.

Karius is barely a pl keeper and Moreno is being made to look good. Liverpool do thrive in chaos.
It certainly helps them and their defence will be tested much more relegation battlers than this arsenal team today. But they haven't been disorganized today.

We still had Ronaldo, so 7 or 8?

It helps when you can play 10 yard passes to Ronaldo and get 20 assists.

Karius is like a keeper from a differtent era. My god is he poor with the ball on his feet. It is actually not something you can really get away with it nowadays.

The saddest part is the outcome of this game was so predictable. It's like everyone knew what was going to happen except Wenger.

At least one of our top 4 rivals has melted down early this year

Liverpool should make Coutinho sit on the bench when he comes back. Why would you change that front three?

Of course it's not true. They conceded in both CL qualifying games and 3 against Watford in the first game of the season. They have 1 clean sheet in 4 games. Are you sure you heard correctly?
Seems like was just Premiership and includes back end of last season.

The worst thing about this is our team is not too bad. It's our tactics or lack off tactics.
I think the fact the tam and manager are bereft of any condifence is what's happening

Why wenger is sitting there still when he had a perfect opportunity to leave following the fa cup final. I don't know

Think it was mentioned before kickoff that SAF would not play Ozil at this point for a variety of reasons, namely his body language is that of a careless player low on confidence.

I think he'd have shipped him out by now, same with Ramsey, under a competent manager.
