Premier League Matchweek 3 (26-27 August)

How can the ref find 5 mins of extra time over 45 mins and find 5 mins extra just from those 5 mins? It makes no sense.

Time wasting adds on time. Not to mention their players going down for treatment every ten minutes. When we entered the five injury time minutes, there was more time wasting and 'injuries', plus Pep and Eddie were talking to the ref. Not hard to find those minutes lads.
Not enough time wasting to warrant that much time being added on.

They go top just like that. Pundits on NBCSN not pointing it out, I'd bet my left bollock if that was United it would be the main talking point.

The problem is that it is so illogical and inconsistent. There is literally no way that you can determine what length of added time they will come up with.

It is basically what the referees feel like on the day.

That's true but I have this feeling in more or less every game in PL. There are very generous with the added time. It's not a bad thing for me.

Fuming. Why are City allowed to play until the 97th minute when it's 5 mins added on. I've seen so much when we've played that it doesn't matter if the rival team are on the floor the whole time, the time ends when the time ends!

Ridiculous.

In fairness it's "minimum" of 5 minutes, not 5 minutes.

The 5 was to start after 90 in fairness.

Bournemouth were doing a lot of time wasting break up the play tactics though.
but does the ref also account for extra stoppages after 90 mins, within his allotted stoppage time? Whats the ruling on that?

Examples of mistakes are indicative of ham having a good game:wenger:

Two borderline mistakes. The Kompany one was more on the assistants as it was miles from the ball and the ref was watching that. The Ake one was borderline and while it looked a red, a yellow was acceptable as on the of the other CB's may have closed down Jesus.

Citeh looked bereft of ideas. Give the ball to Mendy and he hits a cross to nobody who can head the ball, try and dribble their way through defences, pass,pass,pass..no one has a shot. They are boring

We always used to do it under Sir Alex. Never say die attitude. Just fecking annoying when you're not the team doing it.

That said, we win in style nowadays. ;)

It´s more a small team has died, let´s rape their dead bodies - attitude.

Whatever man, City look shite.

Why do people act like this is something unusual? If a ref adds 5 minutes and you have another break during these 5 minutes (like the calming the managers down or the celebration part) the ref will usually add more time on top of these 5 minutes.

Well yes, that's true, but that's not what you said. Eiter way, as I said the worst part of it was the foul he gave.
I don't have any issue with the stoppage time allotted or how Dean applied it.

Red card looked correct to me. He went running to the crowd which caused it to kick off and police had to eject supporters.
No question. I know people think it's ridiculous to get booked for celebrating but the stewards shouldn't have to deal with that.

Biggest win of Pep's career. Will no doubt be his proudest moment as a manager yet again. Absolute joke.

Why did Mike Dean have to wait until everyone was lined up for the restart before sending Sterling off though? Completely unnecessary and shows that the prick is desperate to be centre of attention.

By the end of the season he'll be demanding his own entrance theme song.

King's selfishness may well have cost Bournemouth the win.

He needs a stern talking to for not passing to his teammate who would have been in on goal.

Dean didn't have a great game overall but the added time thing was fair. Bournemouth were time wasting constantly.

I remember our draw with them at OT last season - Bournemouth time wasted constantly from the first half to the last minute. Was so pathetic and frustrating.

City trying their hardest to emulate the great United teams of 2013-2016. They just need to remember not to score and subsequently win. Almost there though.

The stoppage didn't start until 91, due to the ref having to speak to managers.

That said, even so, it should have been blown at around 96.

The refs an arse hole. Simple as that!

Nope. There was also a lenghty injury (Afobe) and a substition in added time.

Joke of a match tbh. City are a dirty side aren't they? So many sly kicks and fouls they seem to get away with. Not to mention the constant whinging and diving.

Don't know why anybody is surprised, his teams have been notorious for it. His Barca team were the worst I've seen, I hope we kick the living shit out of them tbh when we play them.

feck me, is everyone going to be told the cringy 'welcome to the premier league' line after a late goal like no one has ever experienced anything like this before.

City lucky, but Bournemouth writers of their own demise there at the end. Missed a golden chance to score and switched off at the last minute.

No issues with the time added on. Even within the 5 mins almost 2 were wasted so to play till 97 is justified. Bouremouth were wasting time and they got punished for it.
Not too worried about this City side though, there's something very off about their performances.

Really poor goal to concede by Bournemouth

Plus side for us though 3 games played and City are struggling to blow teams away

but does the ref also account for extra stoppages after 90 mins, within his allotted stoppage time? Whats the ruling on that?
If there's blatant time wasting then yes, he has the discretion to add it on. The five minutes didn't start till at least 2 mins were gone with Bournemouth wasting time, then all the celebrating in the crowd

Dean would have let this go to +15 if that's how long it too City to score. Dodgy as feck but I guess that's just typical Dean.
