Premier League Gameweek 3

Red card all day. But previous situations where he didn’t give yellow makes this just a game where it shows how Liverpool will get everything this year. The refs can just make that clear with some statement so we don’t need to wonder.

I feel like James' movement was just natural, he was moving that way and the ball just hit his arm. Very harsh red.

What's weird is Taylor spent like 2 seconds at the VAR monitor.

Taylor is an absolutely shite ref, just does what he is told.

He had lost control of the game within the first 10 minutes and it was always gonna end up a shitshow because of it.

He was definitely a prefect in school. Twat.

He scooped it up with his right hand/arm even though it came off his thigh.
Scoop makes it sound more than what it was. He pushed his arm slightly out and it was clearly from panic instinct than trying to actively cheat. There's a difference and the referee was pretty daft to assume a player trying to knee the ball away at first, where the ball rolled up toward his arm, was somehow trying to simulate foul play.

It's a pen because of the panic swing but to give a player a red for such a situation ruins the game. It was extremely harsh, yellow at best.

It's not natural. It was a desperate, scooping motion. He's lucky the ball hit his knee first, the intention was to play it with his hand (clearly a reflex).

Don't understand, the rule is apparently that if the ball comes from the foot onto the arm it's not a handball. James didn't extend his arm.

It was going over the line until he moved his arm forward. It’d be ridiculous if that wasn’t a penalty and a red

if he is giving the pen, he has to get a red, because he denied a goal.

The way refree done the game, I can't believe it. Give a pen but a red for such debatable decision! Unbelievable. This is like single handedly deciding the match.

I really don´t get that decision. I thought according to the rule change last year it isn´t a penalty when the ball deflects from another part of the body onto the arm.

The referee basically handed Liverpool the win here, what a shame.

Salah kicked the ball away but no card but Mendy booked for the same. Liverpool getting all the crucial decision

Nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to Taylor and Chelsea. Pen and a yellow would've been the correct decision.

Extremely biased ref indeed. No cards for Salah, Matip and Fabinho

For it to be a pen it has to be intentional, and if it’s intentional then it stops a goal so it’s a red card.

Right decision according to the rules but I do think it’s harsh. There’s no way it’s intentional, only an idiot like Suarez does that.
It was completely intentional. He panicked. Ball hit has leg, bounced into arm and then he swung his arm through it to ensure it didn’t go in.

Very easy decision for a referee to make. The only people who think it is controversial don’t know the laws and directives, or think a man who throws his arm at a ball on the goal line somehow has done so accidentally.

Chelsea were the better team despite Liverpool not being bad themselves but the red card has probably ruined the game.

Definitely not a red, joke of a decision.

Also, why have all Liverpool players got a face you just want to slap?

Cases for the referee is scouse…
No Fabinho card, never seen a referee squat down to check on a defender who is also squatting, looked at the replay for 1 second, etc etc

The ball hit his thigh and then his hand.. I don't think it's deliberate but can be classified as penalty but never a red. He didn't do it deliberately.

Ref didn't really watch the video did he? It looked like he saw a photo / still only

Regardless im surprised many are saying it's not a penalty and red
If James hand didn't swing and to push the ball it would not have been a red and a questionable penalty
However the swing of the hand that pushed the ball made the decision

No, he brought his arm towards his body as he was kneeing it. The alternative is moving your arm outside, which you don't do because then it'll be penalty if it hits your arm. What else was he supposed to do with his arm? It was a penalty but he was instinctively trying to bring his arm closer to his body.

Feck off Taylor you crowd playing fecking prick.
