Premier League Gameweek 3

Don't understand, the rule is apparently that if the ball comes from the foot onto the arm it's not a handball. James didn't extend his arm.

Rules have to be changed if that's a red card. Ridiculous

I think the ref has fecked this with the red decision. He got a still which made it look like James saved it with his hand, it popped up from his knee on to his hand.

Penalty though..

He definitely didn't look at it for long enough.

It's a pen but I have a lot of sympathy and for me it's not a red card. He was trying to knee it out first and the use of the arm I feel was uncontrolled instinct rather than actively trying to cheat. I feel a yellow would have been fair there.
Yep, the red is very harsh.

Liverpool should have had 3 yellows in that half and somehow Chelsea end up with 3. Taylor is a really weak ref and bows to the crowd

Mendy went to kick the ball and henderson got in the way
And Mendy got booked

I feel like James' movement was just natural, he was moving that way and the ball just hit his arm. Very harsh red.

What's weird is Taylor spent like 2 seconds at the VAR monitor.

Disgraceful decision. No sane person can see that as a deliberate hand ball. Liverpool handed a win here.

So Mendy can't kick the ball.. who gives the right for Henderson to collect it? This ref is losing it

This will be a Litmus test for Lukaku. If his link and hold up play really has improved, then he needs to show it with Chelsea down to ten.

I don't know what you guys are watching. Some are even saying it wasn't a foul.
It deflects off his thingh but the ball was still going in. He moves his arm towards the ball to ensure he blocks it. Entirely deliberate.
Its a pen and a red card all day long.

Loving this game. Very exciting to watch. I let out a loud gasp when the red card came out.

Bring on the second half.

Ref has fecked Chelsea here. Penalty yes, red card no. Will make for an interesting second half, though.

Wtf was that decision. He walked up to the screen, saw one freeze frame and made up his mind? What a joke.

1-1 suits us. Hopefully tuchel parks the bus.

The ref made the decision really quickly after going to the screen.. did he even rewatch the incident or just saw a frame?

If it was the latter, that made it look worse and would be the wrong call to base the decision on.

Only got themselves to blame, how many chances do you think you can miss at Anfield for goodness sake.

And it's Anfield, even with VAR that decision was only going one way!

Hope Chelsea can hold this to a draw now, but it's a big ask.

He was in a hurry to give a red.
