Double jeopardy. So they get the penalty and the man. Joke.
I thought its not handball if it deflects off your own body?
Had to be a red as soon as a foul was given. Easiest refereeing decision all weekend. It was deliberate handball and denying of a goalscoring opportunity. Same as David Luiz last year.A pen, but how on earth is that a red card???
That's a pen. Not a red, but pen
Why did Christensen head the ball out of Mendy's hands though?
Presume because it stopped the ball going in the net.Definitely a penalty. But why red card?
It's a pen but I have a lot of sympathy and for me it's not a red card. He was trying to knee it out first and the use of the arm I feel was uncontrolled instinct rather than actively trying to cheat. I feel a yellow would have been fair there. The way his arm swings made the decision clear, unfortunately it is right.
That was mad yeahWhy did Christensen head the ball out of Mendy's hands though?
I mean yeah, the thing is the ball is going in. Red also tough because he has absolutely no intention to play with the arm.I thought its not handball if it deflects off your own body?
Yep. It’s never a penalty let alone a red card.I thought its not handball if it deflects off your own body?
The ball did deflect off his thigh.. but the movement he made with the arm was deliberate.. probably after the contact.. not sure what the rules are anymore..
But that was going in had it not struck the hand so old school rules mean pen .. red means it has to be deliberate handball.. who knows
A pen, but how on earth is that a red card???
It came off his kneeHe stopped a certain goal. That's a red any day.
Double jepordy is only for intentional actions though. 100% hand ball but I feel James was just instinctively reacting rather than trying to be sly. You can see he tried to use his knee first and it rolled off it, that's why I feel it's a harsh red.Presume because it stopped the ball going in the net.
Was it someone else?He didn't.
Normal at Anfield. They get everything every single time.Crazy decision.
I thought its not handball if it deflects off your own body?
Isn’t that denying a clear goal scoring opportunity?
