Premier League Gameweek 29

Good work by Southampton, but that was poor by Toby. Why did he try to control that? He should have kicked that away!

That's what Southampton need to continue doing. They need to keep pushing forward and testing the Southampton defence.
:)

Still early for Soton to get an equalizer. Come on Saints, you came back from 2 goals down to draw level with us, I'm sure you can do it against Spurs too.

Southampton are playing with more confidence. They're keeping a better shape off the ball, whilst Spurs are looking more static and a bit shook up by the goal they just conceded.

Stranger things have happened. They only pipped us to 4th last season on GD don't forget after their blistering start. I would rather have a chance of chasing down two teams than just one. They do tend to drop points in silly games like us so you never know.

Anyway, I'm rooting for a draw or a Liverpool win.

Why would you want to chase two teams than just one? Isn't it better to have one team completely out of contention? That's precisely the reason why we kept languishing in 6th for almost 4 months.

Giflord you're a fecking beast. My son would like to thank you, as he now has the TV for FIFA and I still get the best bits of the match

Are you letting your kid play FIFA on the telly while United is on?

You must be the most forgiving father in the world. I'd lock the little rascal into a locker.

That was horrible from Long. He ruined a great counterattack with his lack of control of the ball.

Well. I was nervous before, but that team is scaring me. One true CM (aged 33) vs Liverpool is risky.

Hahaha no fecking way! He watched United and he'll be watching the scum vs the other scum later. I let him have the TV for Spurs saints whilst I try to get all the housework in

Does Pep not realise there's an honest to God blueprint in how to deal with Liverpool?
This looks like Leicester v City part 2

Spurs are struggling to break down Southampton now that they're not dropping deep into their box and are holding their shape. Eriksen and Alli have become more static now, and there seems to be a hint of fatigue from Spurs' attacking players.

Spurs need to get some freshness into their attack. They need to get one of Janssen or Sissoko in there for Eriksen or Alli.

Looking at the line ups, I'll be disappointed if we don't exploit the space in front of their back four.

That is a bizarre team especially if its lined up like the way the poster shows. A DM at RB. A 33 yo DM who isnt exactly one to press. Basically Liverpool just need to bypass your front five and it will be so hard for you to pick them up.

What happened to Fernandinho? Injured?

City team looks too attacking

Looks like hes RB lol.

Are City for real? That's too attacking a lineup to play against Liverpool.

The young and spritely Yaya is the only defensive mid ahead of Stones and Otamendi? Wow! I'll still settle for a draw though.

Saints the better side in this second half.
They will tire out as the second half wears on, though. Redmond's working really hard this half, and he'll tire out towards the end. That's why Spurs have been so good: their energy levels allow them to play with intensity for much of the match.

They will probably nick the third in the dying minutes of the game.

Oh right didn't spot him there

Why isn't he playing in midfield and Sagna at RB? Seems strange

That would mean players playing in their actual position, and that just isn't hip enough for Pep.

That Liverpool XI is average.. but is far more balanced than what City have put out.

I think he's expecting Liverpool to sit back, in which case Fernandinho will be pushed into midfield and we'll play with a back three.

When we lose the ball, he'll drop back. In theory it works. In theory.

Who do I want to win City v Liverpool pls?Think City will go on a nosedive if they lose this on the back of Monaco but Liverpool are closer to being caught. Any advice appreciated.

Boufal on for Tadic is a good move by Puel. Tadic was tiring out anyways, and Boufal will cause Vertonghen lots of problems.
