Premier League Gameweek 24

It's just a 1 match ban for Pope isn't it? 3 games is just for violent conduct?
Dunno I always thought a straight red was an automatic 3 game ban
1 match yes.
Correct. This would be deemed a “professional foul” therefore it’s a 1 match ban.

As you mentioned, it’s 3 matches for violent conduct.

Just for the record Newcastle next play United in the final.

Hah- for all the money they’ve spent, Newcastle still look like an upgraded version of Burnley.
They're essentially playing at their absolute max this season. They've built a side that is hard to beat, and who has built themselves to be the best set piece side for and against essentially. Combine those 2 and you get a some pretty decent results.

If both Pope and Bruno were out of the final, it would have made it so much easier.

Still, we should put these away unless we do something dumb and play extra time with Farca on Thursday

This Liverpool is not that good, maybe Newcastle can get something (point) from it.
Could it be Liverpool thinks it is over and have Real on their minds?

Wait will a prem red affect the league cup final? How does that make sense.

It's a bit stupid with the league cup, no idea why it's like this. Same thing happened with Bruno guimares. Got sent off in the semi final but the ban carried through to the league games which means he's available for the final.

Pope is the one player I'd have picked to get a suspension, as well. Its a proper house of cards miss for them.

He does miss it. Thing is you definitely can't appeal it. There is no doubt it is a red.
:lol:If Newcastle challenge that red card Pope deserves his ban extended to the end of the season, it would be so frivolous.
