Premier League 14/1/25 - 20/1/25

Yet another game where we should be at least 2 goals up in the first half before completely losing control in the second half. Pathetic second half.

not sure they'll have to. i can see all the teams dropping plenty of points so dont think its going to be one that needs a massive 10 game winning streak or anything.
Ah, good to see the return to normal times where a 10 game winning streak is considered massive and less likely. Fecking City and Liverpool really messed up expectations.

How has Sancho played?

How many years as it took for teams to start playing against city. Teams use to always sit back. City hate defending. Put them under pressure

Years gone by City would've had the ability to rip you apart if you committed numbers. They are nowhere near what they have been.

Somehow Forest lost to them. In the middle of their terrible run. Could’ve been going level at the top today.

One thing I notice a lot while watching other teams is how much they are allowed to foul so much more compared to United

If it stays like this city are 9 points behind top.
With about 17 games to turn this around (and obviously making Jan signings)...

Laughable seeing Elanga doing so well at Forest playing RW. Whilst we don’t have many options on that side and a £90m buy rotting in the reserves

I think he's average and looks a notch below his team mates. He has work rate and pace but I don't think he's better than Anthony. The football just suits him OK.

We seem to have a fixation on players that didn't do the business at United but happen to do well elsewhere

Mctominay, sancho, Elanga etc

I don't understand the application of the offside rule these days. I just watched Damsgaard being a clear 10 yards offside, and the flag wasn't raised until the play had finished 20 seconds later. Was incredibly easy to see the offside in real time. Now in the Nottingham Forest game they immediately raise the flag for something VAR would take 5 minutes to decide.

Yeah it’s bollocks. I think the linesmen have difficulty switching between VAR and non-VAR applications.

Semenyo used to be a defender didn't he? He looks like he's be a very good wingback..

Honestly need more from Palmer. Too often on the periphery of a game in recent weeks.
