Premier League 14/1/25 - 20/1/25

That is not luck. Every game they get all 50:50 decisions in their way.
Refs don't help them with non existent calls but look just today:
1) Konate' handball
2) offside call for Brentford in counter attack (which was not offside)
3) Nunez deserved a clear red
keep telling yourselves that and you'll keep losing, well if the players etc did they would anyway, but fans are crazy, every game you can claim this and that, cop on, best team end of season will win the league, may or may not be liverpool, but will be best team

Bruno as a wide forward? As bad as Havertz has been in recent weeks, I’d still take him over Zirkzee I think.
We don't really play wingers anymore. It's two 10s behind a striker with wingbacks providing the width.

Bruno has probably been used in the front three and the midfield about equally so far.

Good half but we'll need some more corners to stay in the race with Liverpool.

Hope Villa remember to send someone up the pitch to check on Watkins in the second half. These winter months are a bad time to be lonely.

Whoever wins it at the end of the season deserves it. People keep writing off Arsenal but despite the current injuries and their extremely poor form, they're still staying in touch at the top.
Their lifeless draws against Everton and Brighton and narrow wins in games they should win comfortably are why I don’t think they have it in them without Saka.

I think we’re comfortably outperforming them in attacking stats, and similar defensively.

What's the point of marking a line if you can stand 2 yards in front of it and the referee doesn't care

It's becoming ridiculous how much time Arsenal are allowed take over set pieces. Like Odegaard moaning a out Cash standing like 1 yard in front of the line. It's not like he's looking to shoot or in the way of the line of the crossing arc at all.

Tbf, apart from a couple of bigger wins, you guys are also just about putting teams away. Till Saka returns, I think they just need to scrap through games and stay in contention. Its the points that matter right now.

I hope some of our biggest talents waiting in the academy are comparable talents to Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly.

Arsenal can be very proud of producing those two kids. It might seem like a premature claim but just like how Rico Lewis or Mainoo suddenly emerged in the league a few years ago, Lewis-Skelly's level already seems to be comparable to some of the best players in the league in his position.

This is actually one of the better performances I’ve seen from Arsenal in recent weeks. They’re still not creating much but there’s a bit more intensity and purpose about them today.

You don't think standing in front cuts the option to send a through ball on the left for a cross ?

Villa’s position in the table is an anomaly. They don’t rank well for goals scored or conceded, and have the weakest GD in the top half.

Weird season for stuff like that.

Martinez seems to reserve his worst performances and mistakes for games against Arsenal only.

They've been quite rubbish this season, honestly and its rather indicative of how poor the League is right now that they were a win away from being 4th today.

Lewis-Skelly is the surprising one. Nwaneri has been a well known gem for many years now, but I doubt many outside of Arsenal fans knew anything about Lewis-Skelly. It does show that however young academy kids are, a they shouldn’t take a backseat to more experienced players just because they’re older and they cost shitloads. Acheampong is a good example of this. He’s already better than Tosin, Disasi and Badiashile and has shown this when given the chance. I wish more managers would realise being a teenager doesn’t mean you only get 10 min cameos every 2 months or 2 year loan spells. Some of them are ready now.

I think Arsenal's entire identity right now is about pumping the ball in the box from set pieces. Just get on with it.

Maybe the set pieces coach asks them to delay so he can get on the telly.

Arsenal top the home league table by a point. Away from home has let them down. Only 5 wins from 11. 2 defeats and 4 draws.

An Arsenal collapse would be great, can't lie  Think they'll just about see this out though.
