Get in there.

Delighted for Rashford again, hopefully whatever disiplinary issue there was is sorted and done with now.

Not sure why we needed to be hanging on in injury time, that save from De Gea was great and that clearence from Maguire on the rebound was either a genius piece of skill or sheer luck he didnt volley it in to our own goal.

Also how annoying is Loptegui on the side line??

Tough fought win. Had we taken the chances early on it would have been a veeery different game.

Great win. Nobody really played well enough other than Shaw and Varane. Great to get 3 points with such a display.

I'm a bit old school and I thought that was a top class hard work performance of the kind we used to get in away games under Ferguson. Solid defence with a world class midfielder sat in front of them running the show.

My thoughts exactly.

Winning when playing awfully is the key to success!

The midfield players need to up their game and be more consistent (as the defenders now are) but the feeling remains that we won't be winning much w/o as decent goal scorer.

Well I didn't think we played awfully.
I thought it was a workman like professional away performance.

Another 3 points which is great and I thought it was much better performance in 2nd half, Rashford was the difference in the end, our best attacking player definitely.

Not too pretty but points in the bag.

Classic stuff, really, if we dare to think of ourselves as an actual top team again.

(We probably shouldn't, mind - it really is too early for that, but for me both the result and the performance will do nicely for a Crimbo-schedule type of match.)

Can only assume the “awful performance” crew spent too long in the toxicity of the matchday thread. It was a solid, professional performance. Dominated the ball and created enough chances to win the game more comfortably than we did in the end. Exactly the sort of performance/result you need in a long, tough season if we’re going to be a successful team.

Why was there only one replay for the handball from Antony’s shot? It looked like a pk..

As it stands the 14th Jan is a huge game. Could put us 1 point behind City...

Good hard fought win. I'm delighted but I'm still waiting for us to really turn a corner and play some great football. We see some flashes here and there but we just can't seem to sustain. Our passing game is on the verge of being really nice.

- Antony is really not much of threat right now. For a while this season I thought he was becoming our most important attacker. I hope he gets back to form and I really want to see him cross with his right near the byline sometimes.
- Varane, Shaw and Casemiro were immense.
- I love this Rashford.

4th!

A very valuable 3 pts. :D
They’re all valuable but these grind ‘em out narrow wins can be the difference maker at the end of the season.

So happy we’re currently in 4th.
Not many predicted that after our 1st two games.

Our whole defence was superb. Casimero and Varane are playing like they did at Madrid. DDG absolutely on fire. Rashford no words.

Suddenly with the city and Newcastle results, this feels like an amazing win.

Wow, the announcers really fancied Wolves, very annoying.

Huge win in the festive season. I wish Garnacho dribbled past the keeper. Can he play on right and give Antony a break?

Luke is class. Very happy for him as one of his harshest critics.

Antony needs some confidence. Seems like he's playing knowing he won't get dropped. Runs 5m at his man, turns and lies it back - rinse and repeat. We need more from him.

Thought the back four were very good today. Full-backs didn't get forward too much but were solid defensively and made some vital interceptions. Shaw at CB was a beast as was Varane.

Not entirely sold on Eriksen, he's a good solid player but doesn't contribute defensively, not very energetic and he's not carving teams open.

Who knew before the season started that Rashford would end up starring under ETH. At the end of the day quality is quality.

Sancho still has room here, as do Amad and Garnacho to develop. Antony hasn't nailed himself as indispensable and is starting to look like a player who may be important for our team, but not indispensable in the way his price tag demands. His position is up for grabs.

One thing I'm really not sure about, wasn't Garnacho a striker in the youth team?

Garnacho chance and Martial header - you have to take them. It should have been a comfortable 2-0 victory but we made hard for ourselves.
Antony was bad and Martial was hiding . Midfield was good but the whole credit should goto defense. Varane was brilliant.

AWB is slowly adapting and he can be a good backup to Dalot, if this continues.

Main thing for me is, we played badly but still won.

Good to get the three points. I bloody hate watching Wolves, a terrible negative team. I hope they go down. I actually preferred Stoke when they were up, at least they tried to win games, in their own unique way.

I disagree, think we played more than ok and we won. It was always going to be scrappy but we were up for it. Should have won by more than one. Really stoked by this win.

I hated Wolves in the past also but this seems to be a different team. Their new coach has them playing out of the back very bravely and not just relying on brutal tactics.

Probably was one of our better performances at Molineux. Always tight games but we didn't really give them anything apart from that last minute Dave save.
That said I hope we don't play these feckers next season

I realise more and more that any game we aren't 4-0 up at HT there are a large amount of our online fans who think it's a bad performance. They should go back to the run of nail-biting 1-0s we had in the 95/96 season. Cantona seemed to score the only goal every game

In the last 10 mins I thought Casemiro was a monster. A master at interceptions, winning a free kick and overall game management. Something we have lacked for years. 12 months ago we lose that one.

Well said.

So fecking frustrating losing those first two games isn't it when you look at results today

Just don't get it as all of you who ever played any decent level of sports have experienced that those are the wins you really love and remember. Hard fought, competitive where you edge it in the end. Love those.

Great win against a notoriously difficult opponent for us.

This has always been a transition season where top four would be a great bonus. I expect to lose a few games in the next few months. If we had not had Rashford and Wolves had been decent up front we might easily have lost this one.

Apologies, but I have to disagree.

It's due to the midfielders the defence looked so solid. Midfielders did create really good chances but were not taken today. It was a very decent performance so much so there was always going to be one winner. I do agree we need a quality striker.
