Beat a team on a new manager bounce. Not pretty, but nicely done. EtH deserves credit for the subs.

Only watched the second half but thought Martial looked a bit jaded - I'm still a fan but we really do need another option to go upfront (not Rashford as he's so much better on the left.) I thought Fred was great and I loved seeing Antony hustle back to make that crucial intervention after that incredible pass by Neves. I'll always have patience for a fair player who is putting in the effort (part of why I lost so much trust in Rashford last season.) Wanbi (as the Spanish commentators call him) also looked good from what I saw.

Only 3 points behind City after 16 games (though they have a game in hand), we're doing pretty well!

1-0 away at Wolves will do. Hope they go down

Tough game and a well fought win. We don't have that cutting edge in attack that makes us a constant threat so our games tend to be kept alive for longer and you have to think that'll lead to dropped points down the line unless we can improve our consistency in chance creation and finishing.

Great win.

Commentary on British TV is finished, no way is it worth paying for

Seems like every game I watch it feels like the commentary team is willing us to lose. Consistently negative and masked by "wanting a good game for the neutral".

They need to get a but more balanced and just call the game. I'd argue that their inserting way too much of their personality and opinions.

Excellent. That game gives me so much encouragement. Lots of moaning but, to me we controlled that for the most part but, missed some quality in the final 3rd / finishing. Wolves didn't really threaten until the end which was expected. VDB with a poor choice when we were 3 on 2 or that would have been an easy enough ending too.

We are not the finished article, far from it but, there is a very solid base and could be seen despite a sub-par attacking performance. Imagine we were playing Shaw as CB and it wasn't really scary most of the game.

Donny Van De Beek really is a terrible footballer.

He had fresh legs just coming in and looking like the most tired player. The feck was that?
I thought he started off quite brightly but looked very indecisive at times.

Three points away against a bogey club. Potential banana peel for a variety of reasons. De Gea haters having to sit down. Job well done.

They made us work for the win, they always do against us.

Desperately need a striker to go along with Rashford, we're far too reliant on him.

Will someone please put Donny in the fecking bin
Its like he’s an undercover player with a mission to sabotage our games
How many times did he fail to play the killer ball which was the thing he’s meant to be good at!

He's actually never been good at that. I realized a while ago that he was never a good player

Why should the handball rule be different in the opposite boxes? Its either a handball in both boxes or it isn’t
Unfortunately not the case. If a player scores a goal with any hint of handball its automatically chalked off whereas if a defender handles a ball it's open to Interpretation. Shit rule but it is the rule.

Definitely. Needs to be far more traditional it's been dumbed down to a stupid degree and there's just no place for unqualified Co commentators spouting their tactical musings as if the pl managers pitch side can't see what's happening

I think Benni McCarthy deserves plenty of credit, we now have Rashford scoring headers, challenging in the air and aggressive in trying to score goals like he did earlier in shrugging the Wolves defender off.

We looked like we'd draw that game until that moment.

Indeed. The subs really mostly changed the pace of the game in due time, especially Rashford. The rule that disallowed the 2nd goal was just so stupid when you know that defenders get away with nothing on the exact same grounds.

I may sound harsh against Wolves, but they genuinely are as unlikeable to me as Stoke CIty used to be under Tony Pulis. Lopetegui alone deserved to get sent off twice for his antics from start to finish.

I'm a bit old school and I thought that was a top class hard work performance of the kind we used to get in away games under Ferguson. Solid defence with a world class midfielder sat in front of them running the show.

9 clean sheets in our last 13 games is absolutely terrific. the improvement in our defensive play has been tremendous. it's not just Martinez either. literally, every defender we have has improved drastically since last season.

Despise playing Wolves.

Delighted to grind out 3 points.

Never an easy fixture, Wolves can grind out nil nils for fun. Poor first half, better second and Rashford the difference.

Need a striker.

Malacia was much better in the second half.

Yeah, the rule is so insanely stupid it's hard to believe it was invented by grown-up people. Tough break for Rashford to have it strip him of a goal twice in a few months.

One of our best performances of the season in my opinion. We were in total control of the game for 90 + 2 minutes, and we look rock solid defensively even with a make-shift defence. Have to get extra credit to Shaw and AWB. Shaw looks amazing as a central defender and AWB is back to his best in the early OGS-days.

Been like that for a while now, the best commentators have all gone, Barry Davies, Motty, Clive Tyldesley. And some of the women ones are worse . Radio commentary is a art and that's awful now.

There’s always an ugly win at the Xmas/New Year stage of the season for all the good teams and this was ours.

Love that to be honest. We're not going to be at our best all the time, but as long as we're winning and creating chances, can't ask for much more.

When you consider how dogshit Liverpool were against Leicester yesterday - I'll take this performance.

I've seen some hot takes but this one takes the cake.

4th with 32pts . Who would have thought that, and were still 66-1 with the bookies ?.

Tough place to go. For long periods we looked comfortable, it wasn't until the last moments of the game that I was a little worried about conceding.

We need better quality in our attackers and in our attacks.

It would have been a travesty had we not walked away from that game with all 3 points.
We should have been 2 or 3 up at half time.
The lads ground that one out.
Shaw brilliant yet again at centre half.
Fred brought tons of energy
Marcus didn’t sulk one bit and kept his head down.
Credit also to both full backs who worked tirelessly all day, Dalot doesn’t walk back in at right back

Don't know why but I like Lopetegui and hope he does well there. Think it might be the big back slapping, get in to them, agricultural GAA coach energy he gives off.
