FA W FA Cup 5th Round

Manchester United 3:1 West Ham United

Post-match discussion

Was threadbanned so couldn't contribute during the match (Simple Jack isn't liked it seems) but always felt we'd score unlike previous seasons where conceding at 50mins would sink us.

Shout out to Wout who while being the antithesis of a desirable centre forward is so likeable and works so hard, things seem to happen. Dunno how he can be disliked by the fanbase tbh.

Garnacho had a really poor game but he has that quality where he can make something happen. Can't be too hard on him as he's 18 and he's still maturing. We could have one on our hands if he develops well and kicks on over the next two seasons.

Fredgar Davids is a legend and I won't have anything said against the man.

Maguire, he's just an awful footballer, shooing Worldclassemiro away from the ball, stepping into midfield and clipping a ball towards Garnacho's head, slowing the play down was symptomatic of why he has no future here.

Casemiro is just a titan, an unbelievable player. I just am flumoxxed why Madrid let him go.

Important to avoid extra time. One of those nights when the opposition needed to score to get us going.

Any excuse to post this classic:

Needs updating to "HAAAAAAG"

Good comeback there. There was only 1 winner after they scored. Exactly the mentality that we need to keep for the rest of the season.

teams should fear going 1-0 up too early.

Terrible for 70 min, passing in final third was as bad as I've seen, but relentless final 15 min.

No substitute for quality and the difference when our first 11 players come on is staggering. Great to win it in 90 min, didn't want extra time so onwards to the scum on Sunday.

Not a great performance but another win.

Turned it on in the second half, thought Maguire was decent, Casemiro makes such a difference and Garnacho was brilliant.

Don't care how we won. Just happy we got the result.

Keano looks much better and younger without that fecking beard and tash (that he grew for a laugh)

So did Areola's. No idea why he didn't even attempt a save.

Definitely looked like he left it. It appeared he could have just stuck his hand out and saved it. Wonder if he messed his footwork up.

Whew... Fergie timed, I guess. Saved us a lot of trouble.

Just take a look at the teams left in the FA Cup. We have an amazing chance for another fairly easy tie and a good shot at a semi-final.

Give us anyone but Brighton in the next round. Preferably at home.

Sloppy by the B team, great fight back, shit ref, Garnachos attacking and defensive play amazing

Roy Keane making me laugh here having a go at his fellow pundits who can't stop praising West Ham

That feeling is back, United will not be beaten feeling is back ETH. I declare that we are back. We will be challenging next season, I am sure of it. Never have I seen the squad with so much belief and the fans as well. Let's beat Liverpool this weekend.

Wasn't even nervous when we went a goal down. Certainly feels like United of old :D
I am never nervous about it now.
It’s been 10 years, I was putting my head down when we were going a goal down.
So good to feel relaxed about it again ! When my wife asked me how it was going while we were losing 1-0 and she didn’t see the score, I just answered, everything is fine. :D

Good: OG, DDG, Garnacho and Case
Poor: Dalot, Maguire

Was a tough game as we pretty much played a 2nd string side. Glad we move on to Liverpool now.

Team that doesn't know when it's beaten. Poorish performance but more good signs. Would love Grimsby away next but will probably be City.

Roy Keane. What a treasure.
Just had to rewind and watch it again, to see Ian Wright's reflection in the glass. He was loving it, hahaha.

I swear Ian Wright and I have the same shoe wardrobe.

Red Wing Moc Toes and he has a penchant for Sanders and Sanders chukka boots.

Our first team is simply amazing. The moment Casemiro and Licha were on, we had that game won. We pummeled West Ham into submission. Wonderful goal from Garnacho and a great overall performance from Weghorst.

I have to mention our second string are not good enough. This game has shown that we cannot make wholesale changes. But we got the job done and are into the next round, that's what matters. Hope for a non PL side in the next round.

West Ham would have won had they scored their goal in the 80th minute. We were playing in 2nd gear until they scored.

So glad they gave us time to come back and win by scoring early in the 2nd half.

Beautiful strike by Garnacho! And Martinez, Casemiro, Bruno and Rashford form our spine.

Without Martinez and Casemiro, we just don't look like the same team.
And my auntie will be my uncle if she had balls.

I love Keane on commentary. He's a fecking nutter. Has me in stitches and I'm never sure if he's trying to be funny or not.

Aguerd basically won us that game

Own goal, rubbish clearance and then loses the ball to Weghorst for the third.
