Post-match discussion

Sorry, this is all on the manager. He has got plenty of backing, and we have spent a lot of money, but when the tactics are negative and cowardly before the ball has even been kicked, then that is all about the manager.

Tactics yeah fair point, but Mou hasn't had that much backing. We signed three players this Summer, one was a fringe player and one was Lee Grant.

I'm in the Mourinho please for the love of god go camp but there's a lot of fair criticism the board should be getting too.

Dreadful, pathetic shambles, a complete and utter embarrassment today. That is being polite.
Something has to give. It's beyond belief now.

I just don't know where to start. That was like Moyes again. Replace Lukaku with Rashford and see if anything happens. It's not going to fix much though.

Just heard that some United fans were singing for Mourinho to stay. To me, that's just attention seeking at this point.

Painful to watch. Really depressing to see how we've lost our identity. A change needs to happen and it needs to happen soon.

West Ham played their way and won with ease. We went to West bloody Ham worried about them, doing all these bizarre tactical switches and got embarrassed.

At this point I'd take a manager with a history of attacking/entertaining football even if they don't have a load of trophies to back it up, I just want to enjoy watching us again and feel positive going into games.

This club and the team is rotten through and through.

The transfer window is so far away and even that won't save us as you can't sell the whole team and buy a new one. Sacking Mourinho is the only possible option at this point and even that is not guaranteed to change anything. But because it's the only realistic option right now I am all for it.

That wasn’t a poor performance. That was a protest by the players. Mourinho has lost the dressing room.

He had Ronaldo and Ramos, two of the most committed payers in world football against him.

This doesnt suprise me one bit.
If the players don’t care because they don’t like Mourinho then they give me no reason to care about them.

Didn't watch it. First time ever for.me, I had a bad feeling about today. I watched the golf as I knew it would be more entertaining
I'm officially done with utd this season or until Jose leaves as he won't get sacked.

Lost players.Lost dressing room.
Lost relationship with Ed.
Lost his mind and do not know exactly what to do on a football pitch.
Failed big time so that he even played with that young Scott at C.B.
Is there anything else you see in him that he can somehow turn all this around? Surely no.
If the board want to save our chances in getting into top 4 somehow. Then fire that coward now.

I dont think i have seen united play worse than this ever before. The players were strolling in the park no urgency at all even after falling down by 2 goals. i couldn't even see any tactic whatsoever in the game.

Pathetic display today. I wonder if we will be fighting the relegation battle by the end of the season.

Utterly disgusting.

Can't sugar coat that, dreadful performance. Went too defensive at the start of the game, let them get an early goal and failed to start pressing them until the second half which led to their second before half time. They then really had the leisure to sit back and relax and eventually picked us off with the easiest goal they could have got, CBs were in no-man's land.

Our defence is really, really bad, no two ways about it. Fellaini and Matic in midfield was overkill, not taking one of them off for Fred was daft. Wouldn't have taken Martial off as I thought Lukaku had a particularly poor game, Rashford looked bright when he came on and topped it with an excellent finish.

Again, once we were really on the back foot we panicked and launched in cross after cross after cross, which was so easy for West Ham to defend against and it always is for any team whenever we resort to it. Don't know what Mourinho's got to lose at this point, just throw on all the creative players we have, we're already losing may as well try to lose prettily. When you're after results you should go to attack, not focus on defending which is exactly what that lineup was all about today.

I'm very, very worried about our top four chances, you look back on results like these at the end of the season when you're desperate for those extra few points. To be honest, if we don't buck our ideas up we might struggle for a Europa spot.
Didnt Chelsea finish 11th in his last season there. OK he wasnt there all season, but when a trend starts its hard to get out of. Remember when we couldnt get out of 6th in his first season?

Their manager gives no shits... their manager is sending them out badly organised... their manager is hamstringing them... seriously, why in those circumstances would the players go hell for leather?

It wouldn't happen at any other job... if your manager starts arsing around and not giving a shit, then that attitude will go to his team.

Obviously they should have professional pride etc... but yeah, it's not as simple as that.
Being a footballer isn’t a normal job so it’s not an apt comparison. There’s people playing five a side with more heart than that. Mourinho is making plenty of mistakes but do you really believe he doesn’t care if the team loses?

How low can we go from now
Even with fecking moyes and lvg our start still better than this
Lvg’s first season we didn’t start much better to be honest , we’d one point more than we do now and 13 points after 10 games.

Though in fairness to LVG at that point he was trying to fix another man’s mess and seemed to have a plan

What do we do in the training? I mean, no movement, clueless how to find space in between, no acceleration. Lukaku is a drag. He just stands there doing nothing. I think Fella moves better than him. Jose clearly lost the plot with the subs, leaving McTominay on and taking off Martial. Why? Martial was sort of useful. And why no Sanchez and Lingard? So many questions and no answers. Tired.

Knew it, he went with Stoke like tactics and it was sad to see, all the time <ourinho is here, we will see Matic, Fellaini and Lukaku in most starting 11's.

Matic is abysmal, the game was just passing him by when west ham had possession, I can remember Diop just cruising past him with the ball.

Did you seen the formation, tactics and subs Jose made? How in the world can you blame the players for this sham.

You have your head in the sand if you think we do not have a player issue as well , the whole thing is an omnishambles , how can you pay that much and still end up with such a poor squad of players.

Scholes knows a quality player and he has rightly called out that we have a lack of them right now, Rio agreed with him and so will anyone with their eyes wide open.

First time I've said it but Mourinho has to go.

Tactically terrible.

Why the hell play McTominay as a right sided CB. Tried it with Herrera and looked what happened there.

Invite trouble all the time and only react when we're in trouble. Always reactive and never proactive. We were playing West Ham!

Some poor performances but not focusing on the players, this is all Mourinho and he's got to go as soon as possible before this season is destroyed.

Slow play, by the time the ball gets upfield the opposition are in place and always trying to go through the centre.
He's scared of losing and because he's so scared we are losing.

What's the point, we've already lost 3 games out of 7, if we'd have played one CB and gone gung-ho all out attack we'd probably be in a far better position than we are.

Just attack and attack quickly. Go away Mourinho.

I have said it before but the first player who should be shown the door is Fellaini, not because he is the worst player as he has even been playing well the last few games, but because he is everything wrong in how we play the game. Having him in the side sends a message of how we play the game, & not a good one, but one full of long balls & negativity. Can you honestly think Guardiola, Klopp, or Poch would have him in their sides. Of course they wouldn't. Get lost Mourinho & take Hair Bear with you.

Him subbing Pogba and Martial in the 70th was ego more than tactics. He could’ve pulled anyone, they were all proper shit, he chose the ones who’d make headlines.

Hope Mouriniho turns things around by beating Huddersfield, Cardiff and Newcastle.

Gutless performance from both Mourinho and players, everything is too slow and too predictable, no positive input whatsoever apart from Smalling who, IMO, looked like he's playing alone at the times, felt like the rest of the team just waited for time to pass.

But, taking this factors into consideration- washed up manager(s), average players, club managment in more money than ever and distanced from sports side of a club, small time mentality around the squad, no clear vision in terms of playing style, midtable finish(es) and no wonder we look like this. The sooner it's over the better, it's utterly bizzare how bad it is.

Tactics yeah fair point, but Mou hasn't had that much backing. We signed three players this Summer, one was a fringe player and one was Lee Grant.

I'm in the Mourinho please for the love of god go camp but there's a lot of fair criticism the board should be getting too.

He has plenty of backing, spending is an excuse that cannot be used anymore.

Says a lot that a manager manages to turn players against him like this at so many clubs.
Mourinho certainly has a lot to answer for and his time is probably up. That doesn’t excuse the players hiding behind him and Pogba.

Him subbing Pogba and Martial in the 70th was ego more than tactics. He could’ve pulled anyone, they were all proper shit, he chose the ones who’d make headlines.
Same with putting McTominay in defense. Almost as if he wished for the circumstances that came about, the cnut.
