Post-match discussion

Keys and Grey reckon his CB comments were aimed at Woodward.
Of course they were, but it's ignoring the impact on his own players. It's got to the stage Mourinho is now playing stupid little games to make his point, and it has to be shut down quickly.

Same with the Martial/Sanchez comments. Yes he made that swap, but with the formation he put it out he basically put them out to fail. How much can an attacker do if they have no midfield actually giving them ball or giving them options when they do get the ball? I'm trying my best to think it wasn't deliberate, but it's somewhat feeling like it.

So we came into this game with the players and manager all saying our attitude wasn't good enough and in recent games our opponents have shown more desire that us.

Then serve up that shitfest. What the actual feck is going on? Is that their response to a lack of desire - to show even less?

The players are a disgrace. Absolute joke today, didn’t do anything just pissed about not giving a shit about the fans who work hard to earn & watch Utd play & the ones who pay towards their wages. Really disgusting attitude from the lot of them. Clearly it’s all over for Jose & the best thing he can do is to walk because these * are never going to play for him properly. Player power dominates football now & gone are the days when the manager was the one. For me the most difficult thing is their rifts aside is why can’t the players just do it for us fans, that’s it.

I actually switched over to the golf after that Arnautovic goal, even though I don't care for the sport. Before then I went back and forth between the two broadcasts. Don't normally do that, however have seen enough football over the years to sense when a comeback is almost out of the question.

Well I'm saying they're related but different. We can't buy players for cheap anyway so it's a moot point how much we're spending as we'd inevitably do the same for any manager. It makes a bigger difference if the board are obliging by going after key targets, which is something they didn't do for Alderweireld or Perisic. Maybe Willian too.

Beyond that, the club spends stupid amounts of money on individual players to show its power to mask our deficiencies. That's a decision that rests with the board and is quite obviously a branding tool straight from the Madrid School of Galactico Thought.

We have spent money, stop making stupid excuses that are factually untrue. Spending cannot be used as an excuse when we play much worse than teams much worse than us, who spend less than us.

Also, Perisic, Willian and Alderwereild would not have changed anything. We bought Sanchez as an alternative to them and he is better than both of them, yet he has been wank under Jose. We also got two CBs for him, who now he does not rate. Looking at how poor Sanchez and Matic have been, I am glad we did not overpay on more overrated old players.

This is all on Jose, if you want to win then that positive attitude has to come from the manager.

Hate that post match comment about questioning the quality of the players but not their attitude. Most of the league would kill to have players like Pogba, Martial, Alexis and Lukaku at their disposal in attack.

All Mourinho wanted was one proper defender - and the biggest club in the world cannot deliver on this simple ask. Mourinho must feel he has to fight the whole Man Utd club before he even starts to take on the Premier League and Champions League. How long will we stand for incompetency in this club before we back a world-class manager who has won trophies everywhere he has been? This club has lost the plot.

I can't really see how Harry Maguire or Alderweirald would have made a major difference to that shite show today.

I know United were rubbish but surprised there was not much complaints about the clear foul in the build up to WH''s 3rd goal. Looked a clear foul on Rashford, albeit I only seen it once.

Its lucky that we only conceded 3, in first 10 minutes it looked like we gonna be like down to 4+, thank god West ham is west ham and got scared till second half to actually hurt us.

I do hope JM leaves and some one new comes or gets appointed as manager among staff before we play Juve.

Jesus some of you still want mourinho here are you chelsea fans or somthing .

His time at the club has run its course. Problems run deeper than him but hes just not the solution anymore.

Let's be real Most of you on the cafe has been screaming for Martial to be played. He plays does nothing.
Rashford comes on he scores.
Pogba was poor as well
Lukaku was poor
Martial hasn't been starting for ages. Lukaku and Sanchez constantly poor but he doesn't criticise them. It's his awful fecking management and terrible football that is the big immediate issue - not the players.

Certainly Mourino has to carry the can as he is manager and the buck stops with him regards playing matters.

But I agree with Rio and Scholes in that the players need to share the blame as equally , the attitude , the workrate , the quality. It is all just a mile off where a Utd player should be.

I don't care if you don't like the manager , you disrespect the fans , the club by putting in a performance like that.

We are not even top 4 quality with this squad of players , regardless of who is manager.

Honestly one of the weirdest features with out team under Jose has been the lack of work rate. We simply wait for the opposition, no aggression either when in our own half all the way back to the burnley away game in 16/17.

We lost because we refused to attack.

This squad has good players in it. I’m sure of it!

I can't stand the man. I sincerely hope Woodward has the balls to sack him and not pay him off. Compile a list with a legal team of various breaches of contract committed by Mourinho, I can't stand the thought of him getting a payoff and leeching off our club which he clearly has no passion for.

The subs were just baffling. Based on our setup, the two avenues to back in this game were through high balls (crosses or just hoofs) to Fellaini or individual brilliance from your players. Jose proceeds to take off the two players (Pogba and Martial) most capable of providing some sort of spark of brilliance and we proceed to slam crosses into the box for the rest of the match.

Bringing on Mata for Martial is the one that does my head in the most.

Dear me watching our beloved team now is more like a torture really. Tell me how can I stop caring? How to get used to such shit poor dire coward performance after another? That is sooo un healthy.

These results aren't even a surprise now; I predicted defeat before kick off, and I'm far from alone in that. It was a terrible display: no desire, no quality, no clue.

I'm sick of railing against our centre backs. You know it's really bad when a young midfielder has to play there. They are useless; we need a complete overhaul there. The midfield didn't put in a shift compared to West Ham's, who worked like Trojans all match. The forwards had little to work with.

It's a complete mess and it's starting to look bad for Jose. It's clear as day that morale is rock bottom and the club is drifting. We will just need to wait and see what happens in the coming weeks, but right now we don't look capable of winning any game. It's just fallen apart in a matter of weeks: we can forget a title challenge; the Champions League will be impossible and we're out of the League Cup.

This can't continue much longer; crunch time is near.

The players are a disgrace. Absolute joke today, didn’t do anything just pissed about not giving a shit about the fans who work hard to earn & watch Utd play & the ones who pay towards their wages. I agree mate. They just don't get what it means to play for us, or understand the standards set previously. I hate this player power at our club, it's bad for us. Really bad. That's why things will never consistently be good again until somebody comes in and weeds out the rats and takes a grip of the club.

I'm hoping fellow fans don't concentrate on any comments he makes after the game. The issues are: he's not coaching us properly; his man management is terrible; and his constant drama is dragging the whole club down. There's no chance he turns this around, so no need to wait any longer.

I agree, I think this should be the end of the line for Jose.
Woodward needs to have a long look at himself as well and start doing things for the club and not his ego.

My two kids have asked for united gear for every birthday since I can remember. This year neither of my kids are getting united gear.

Sadly I think a fall in shirt sales will concern Woodward more than the woeful performances on the pitch.

Clearly Jose is on borrowed time.

First job for the next manager coming in is to drop Pogba, Sanchez and the rest of the underperforming players to reserves and bring up kids hungry to play for the shirt.

The problem with united is the culture within the club.

I'm failing to see how people can stick up for this mess, it's a joke! How much more time , we are already fast falling behide lots of teams and already one of the biggest spenders in the world. I just fail to see how you can stand up for this shite

JM is right, an offside goal and an own goal.. But bloody hell, get a reaction and turn the game around..

Moving on to Tuesday and go to the break with a win..

I've defended Jose ever since he became manager and he was the one I really wanted after Sir Alex retired. However todays game made me realise that this team is absolutely done with him.

Shocking lineup and setup, some really weird changes and the same awful football. We've regressed from last season, and even last season we weren't playing well at all. Add to all the problems he's got with some of the players, even though he might me right on some points, we're an absolute mess from top to bottom.

Can't see how this will get better as it all starts to look like the end of Moyes tenure. The thing that scares me is that we will have to start from square one again, and that leaves me traumatized after Moyes, LVG and soon Mourinho. There is also not a proper manager available to bring in now either which makes thing even more difficult.

Really disappointed with the team, and I'm losing all hope and joy with every game. Even though I want to defend Jose, I really can't anymore.

Today is the day I realized there is no way back for Jose at United. He has got to go and Woodward should not be involved in footballing decisions either.

And here I was thinking Mourinho third season syndorm was not a thing.

It doesnt even matter how many pf the blame falls upon him anymore. The team is dead. You cant change the players mid-season, so we have to change the coach. We aont getting anything this season but bronging in a manager tp get to know the players and chppse who he wants and who he doesnt is crucial if we dont want to fall further backwards next season

I wonder when we will hear from Pogba .
He should use his brain cells and do and say nothing. Jose is managing to do everything bad all by himself. Just let it ride itself out if I am Pogba.

That line-up in my eyes was Mourinho throwing the game and throwing in the towel. One foot out of the door. He won't resign as he won't get his pay out but the writing is officially on the wall after today.

I can't really see how Harry Maguire or Alderweirald would have made a major difference to that shite show today.

Totally agree. A defender would make no difference to the shambles at the club that is caused by the poison that is Mourinho both on and off the pitch.
