Sick and tired losing to these wank fecking teams. Battle for top four? Battle to finish top 6 at this rate.

I predicted that we would finish in 5th place this season, but I'm now beginning to doubt this.

We had 10 men in a premier league match for 70 minutes. They did what they could.

Rubbish. Arsenal played against ten men in a high profile game and had the disappointment of conceding two goals. Even then the team who are often labelled as gutless showed fight and desire to salvage a draw whilst we today lacked urgency, fight and desire against a wank team.

The red card excuse is a non starter.

The red card is being overrated in this game. West Brom were showing no - zero - urge to come at us, even with a man advantage. With them moving forward so little, we were starting to get balls long to Martial and it was clear that their backline would have problems keeping him under wraps. Memphis should've come on for Rashford so we would have a more experienced winger playing with Martial to pull away their defenders. Not doing this until we were behind and not taking off Carrick for Schneiderlin (when he was clearly the poorest midfielder) must be the 2 worst decisions I've seen LVG make and there have been many.

Top 4 actually can't be written off completely because the other sides are also poor this season but at this point I don't think it really matters whether we make it or not. Our manager will need to be changed when the season is over and I honestly wouldn't care if they did it now. I think we have good players but we are going to have to start from the ground again and try to reorganize how this team does things. The fact that we have a basket case as the lead candidate doesn't exactly fill me with confidence for the long haul.

Yeah, in fact I don't ever remember a supposed top team going down to ten men and literally creating zero opportunities.
Like even though Palace gifted Liverpool goals today, Liverpool were looking the more determined and threatening and were having chances.

How does not genuinely threatening their goal and largely failing to string any coherent play together equate to doing "pretty well"?

Of course the sending off had a huge impact but other than for 10 minutes we didn't look interested in winning the game. We looked sh*te before the sending off and didn't even have the guts to try to rescue the game when West Brom shut up shop.

At times, particularly in the first half we looked like we weren't a man down. We started the second half well and Rashford had a really good chance. Inevitably the 10 men tired after doing the running for 11 men and we offered nothing for the last 20 mins. Also we were undone by one defensive lapse and they had no other clear cut chances. I'd define that as doing pretty well.

Manchester United, a club renowned for attacking football, chasing a game a goal and a man down replaces an attacking midfielder with a defensive midfielder in the 62nd minute and then in the 81st minute swaps it's right back.....
This is spot on. Even from the substitutions there was no clear intent to win the game - just changes in personnel to play the same ineffective system with different players.

There are times in games when a certain amount of abandonment is needed in terms of tactics. We should've been all out to win that match at all costs but instead looked almost disinterested.

1-0 down, 10 men and chasing the game what does LVG do? Subs on a CDM and a CB.. philosophy!

If the board actually gave a shit about this club and didn't just see it as a cash cow then LVG would have gone by now. This is simply a fecking travesty when you consider that three years ago we were Billy Big Bollocks. Now we're Timmy Tiny Todger.

Result was a little expected after we went down to 10 men but my word the performance was poor, no excuses. It seemed that our tactic was to just hoof it up to martial! the substitutions were mind boggling to say the least.

Foolish from Mata.
Blind diabolical second game running
Smalling Martial and Lingard did OK
WBA offered little and Blind gave them the goal.
Who knows what would have happened if Mata had stayed on but afterwards the attack was so far away from the rest of the players we couldn't build anything.
Pretty poor all in all.
Injuries and tiredness combined with playing with 10 men really caught up with us today

Don't forget the aimless long balls.

To Martial who has no business in that role and was dominated aerialy. While plan B in Fellaini sits on the bench, but LVG is too busy bringing on a defensive mid and changing right backs.

- We just cant play the bottom half teams.
- Though we were down a man they were clearly scared. Hardly capitalised and continued making crap passes and mis-passes.
- Not sure whether to blame LvG or players for the performance but bringing defender and defensive mids after going a goal down sounds ridiculous. Changing defenders so that you can brag about youth is simply stupid. It means you have already given up on the team

We have taken 61 points from the last 39 premier league games. Leicester and their bargain buys and Man Utd rejects have taken 82!

The manager is rubbish and so are half the first team. Its ridiculous to be fair.

Carrick sounds like he's given up on the season already.
He was taking the piss in this game.. Had no intention of competing today even before the red card. Am fuming, gutless performance from him today and has no right thinking of playing in another this season.

Chasing three points, Lingard and Martial getting joy down the left, makes defensive sub and invites West Brom to attack (which they do and score). Van Gaal that.

Such a witty point do tell us more.

There's plenty of things to be annoyed about with that display, of course some will just say the red card excuses him of the result but that doesn't suprise.

Only plus point is Fletcher looks well these days..

Honestly I think it might be a big conspiracy to keep Barca and Bayern at the top of world footbal. LVG is just a sabatouer! Good thing he doesn't know about Manchester United exceptionalism, we will claim our divine right to good football and winning soon enough my friend!

I question whether we actually as a team wanted to win this game today. When you think of the incentive to win this game being we would be within a shout of a champions league place, I can't for the love of me understand the lack of any real effort. Foster surely had one of the easiest games of his career today. I wish this season would just end now.

Why do we consistently piss away points against the shittest teams in the league? I'm fecking sick of it. Van Gaal has no plan against teams like this. You'd think after two years he'd found a way to scrape wins against them, but the stubborn cnut isn't even close.

Shite performance. Never really got going, and the red just made it even worse for us as we gave up more ground to them. We created nothing of note all game. Martial look our only threatening player.

A part of me is pissed we lost today, but then I remind myself it's been the story of our season so far. We're capable of the occasional decent game at home, but we're absolutely pointless away from home. In the league we've played 15 games - 5 wins, 4 draws and 6 defeats with a goal difference of -2 (18-20). That's beyond embarrassing, but it's also completely deserved given the way we "play". The only away game in Europe that we won was against the atrocious Brugges side in the qualifiers and then drew at CSKA and lost at PSV, Wolfsburg and even fecking Midtjylland.

It's down to Van Gaal's idiotic tactics that are way too pragmatic for our trips and backfire time and time again, yet he hasn't learnt his lesson. He just doesn't get the Premier League at all. The fact that he kept Carrick on the pitch for the full 90 minutes speaks volumes and don't even get me started on Blind.

I think our only shot on target was the Martial shot in the 2 or 3rd minute. Somehow we found a way to be even shitter with 10 men and weren't even close to creating a goalscoring chance apart from the lucky deflection that led to Rashford's shot. There are other teams that are even turning games around with 10 men, but we're incapable of that.

I knew we weren't winning this once Mata got sent off, but even before his dismissal, we were shit. To be fair, I was thinking we could win the game prior to the dismissal mostly because of wishful thinking. I wrote a preview for the game for a website this morning and when I had a look at the stats/recent form etc., I realised just how fecking pointless we are. We had only won one of our last 6 away games in the league and that was against Liverpool where I still don't know how we managed to pull off the win.
