Mike Deane- Scouse cnut

This team/squad just isn't good enough regardless of tactics/philosophy.

Chasing a game and Van Gaal makes 2 out of 3 of his subs defensive ones. Infuriating, i would sack him for that alone. I miss Fergie he would have been throwing attackers on.

Foul throw, what a load of balls like it matters one way or another.

Darmian - pointless player. Depressing to watch.

Shit from start to finish.

I'm sorry, I've seen people defending it but that red card is an absolutely piss poor decision. A red card in 30 minutes for that?
Come on.

After that it was poor. After their goal it was abysmal.

It was a clear red card. Absolute stupidity from Mata. No excuses.

We have a big issue now - I had hoped LVG had shown the first bit of intuition during his reign to ditch his philosophy, that meant that although his stint in charge had been absolutely dreadful it was no longer particularly damaging...our players could to some extent express themselves again, and I'd be happy to see him gone at the end of the season.

However the last two games have shown just how clueless he is introducing this nonsense again. He has to be sacked now...not just for his lack of ability to reflect on what he has produced to this point, but how much this could cost us in the long run.

The sending off was always going to make it an uphill battle. Top 4 is gone as we aren't consistent enough. Only hope now is that we somehow win the Europa League. LVG will have to go in the summer. It's been a disastrous season.

Appalling. just awful. no words really can describe that.

We aren't very good.

Nothing Van Gaal could have done about the red card. No chance that we would play the same dross with Mata on the pitch. Immediately people attack LVG again with wrong subs and tactical approach. This is a game we would win with eleven players. Just take a look at their defense, they can not handle pace, as soon as they received the ball they opted for the long ball for the aerial duels. Just a shame that we shoot ourselves in the foot with a silly red card, there was no reason at all to drop points here.

Mata's fault that we were stupidly reduced to 10 men, LVG's fault that there was never any chance of us winning the game once that happened.

Such a witty point do tell us more.

There's plenty of things to be annoyed about with that display, of course some will just say the red card excuses him of the result but that doesn't suprise.

Only plus point is Fletcher looks well these days..

No I was serious, I really don't know what he is telling these players! What else would you like me to tell you?

Problem was we didn't give anyone debuts. That's what really fecked us over.

8% on Mata as MotM :)

Awful performance, deserved result.

That puts Liverpool basically equal on points with us (their game in hand is against Everton I think, and we all know how those games go - so we can give them those three points). Also behind West Ham, three points behind City and five behind Arsenal.

Not great TBH.

Has Fletcher had his gnashers done? They look sparkling. Good post-match from him too. He's still a fan.

Morrison in the studio: "I'm a big believer that goals can win you football matches". Incredible.

United wouldn't have scored in 3 hours of playing time today, let alone create an goal scoring opportunity.

Teams with 10 men usually create something, we looked lost, confused and scared

Terrible game.
Red card didn't help.
I'm more talented than Darmian.

Pathetic. Only consolation I can take is that SAF looked seething. Think today was the final chance for LVG to really give it his all, ten men or not that was one of the most cowardly performances i've ever seen from us. Subs summed up LVG.

Special mention for Mike Dean who is always desperate to do that to us.

LVG likes to talk about how his teams don't rely on one player, This is fine if you can keep 11 on the pitch but i've never seen a system so susceptible to a red card. The big difference for me is when we actually had a few stars we could use a bit of individual brillance to get ourselves out of situations like this. The moment Mata went the game was done.

Very unlike Mata to get sent off, especially the petulant nature of cards.

Marital looked good, but didn't have any support. Smalling was a destoryer again for the most part.

At this point I don't know why Darmian makes the starting XI. Maybe he'll come good next year, but he's gone downhill since the start of the year.

In the end, an utter shite performance. WBA deserved their goal and the points.

West Brom deserved it.

That's about as positive I can be about that match.

These comments blaming lvg/philosophy/anyone but Mata basically are completely reactionary. The team did pretty well and there was feck all LVG could have done today. Mata lost us the game today, simple as.

I am wondering why i choose to stay up til 5 am to watch our shit on a stick football.

Sleep is better then lvg ball.

I know it's pessimistic, but I think we can now kiss the title goodbye.

What a wasted opportunity. There was no desire to go for the win from the red card, which was uncharacteristically foolish from Mata. I don't think the red can be used as an excuse for rolling over and not putting up a fight.

The team did well? What bloody game were you watching? We were shit from start to finish.

There's a difference? Someone should let the players know.

First he was telling the players to play shitty slow football and now he is telling them to get red cards in the 26th minute. I am not seeing his end game here, I have no clue why LVG would do these things but he has got to go!

As soon as he got some of his regular players back from injury, Van Gaal turns back to his tumescent football. I don't think he appreciates what a good attack minded fullback can do.

I want him gone, but I don't want Mourinho to come and Mata to leave. It's kind of a shit place to be in. feck you Louis.

Exactly. Just like Coquelin and Milner are responsible for Arsenal and Liverpool's defeats this weekend.

I've asked already in this thread, but put the shoe on the other foot. How do you think those last ten minutes would have gone if West Brom were 1 man and 1 goal down?

That's what we can blame van Gaal for.

How does not genuinely threatening their goal and largely failing to string any coherent play together equate to doing "pretty well"?

Of course the sending off had a huge impact but other than for 10 minutes we didn't look interested in winning the game. We looked sh*te before the sending off and didn't even have the guts to try to rescue the game when West Brom shut up shop.

I blame Mata.
I blame some weak performances, especially the first teamers.
I blame LVG.
But most of all, I blame this guy:

Cooking this Syrian dish with veal meatballs, shaffire rice and hummus for the game. Usually when I make these match day dinners we lose so I quit for a while. Let's see if my food jinx is still in full effect.

They weren't sent off after 25 minutes though.
