Deserved win. Finishing is still crap, and we still make silly mistakes, which needs to be cut out.

Bayindr needs to start, a keeper who does what is needed consistently is such a calming influence.

If you combined the absolute best parts of Hojlund and Zirkzee you'd get a player who might become as good as Chris Wood.
We spent 110m on Zirkzee and Hojlund, so we didn’t need to spend 100m on Harry Kane. Smart.

Based on what? They had a chance that was offside that hit the post. Wouldn't have counted, and did very little apart from defend deep all game. We missed boatloads of chances and dominated the ball, and had a clear goal disallowed.

It came as absolutely no surprise to me that they drew level towards the end, i thought we were poor against a really bad side and they caused us problems regularly, they had 2 early chances which they should have done more with too.

We did have that goal wrongly disallowed as you say, but got very lucky with our first goal.

Dont fancy us at all vs Fulham.

Not great, but missed a couple sitters again. Been doing that for half a decade if not more. Collyer was solid.
Important win though. And I love stoppage time goals.

We are one hell of an awful team. Rangers had about four players on with number 46 48 53 etc. and you could barely notice the difference.
This group is genuinely fecking rotten to the core. Bar Amad, Bruno and Garnacho, just below average displays all round. Lack of care on the ball, lack of speed, lack of intelligence, no imagination, just absolutely nothing.

I’ve criticised this team and the performance plenty this season but today we were much better and did control the game for large parts of it.

DeLigts disallowed goal
Garnacho off the post
Maguire’s header
Ugarte’s header
2x goals

Those were all very good chances and on another day could all have gone in.

I just think most are down on the team (and fairly so) so going with the negative.

lucky to get the win, zero goal threat, reliant on errors and we constantly look like conceding. We scraped by depleted Rangers in a second rate league. I miss the days of players chipping in when the strikers were in a dry spell. We are in dire need of an experienced striker

Great end to the game and great result, but let’s not get carried away.
We were holding on to a slender lead, despite dominating possession, courtesy of an own goal.
Poor finishing and little threat in the Rangers box, we set ourselves up for Rangers scoring out of the blue and throwing the game away.
Thank feck for Martinez and Bruno for a tremendous finish.

.

Finishing is still shit, but deserved win. Collyer was a big plus, lad isn't afraid to get on the ball and pass. I'd like to see a midfield duo of Ugarte-Collyer at some point to see how combative we can be.

I mean not being surprised that you get sucked punched after missing 6 sitters is one thing, but to say "Rangers should've got something out of the game" is fecking nonsense. Would've been a smash and grab. Thankfully we got the win but a 6-1 would've been more deserving than a 1-1 if we had players who could finish.

Highly likely we need to win the last game to qualify - 6 of the teams who are just behind us have "easy" opposition in the last game - so it's not unlikely that enough teams will win and go past us if we draw.

I can’t remember what attacking football looks like.

This United team is just void of any real ideas. It’s slow, it’s boring.

Plus they all have a mistake in them per 90 minutes. So they give points away on top of being boring.

But amazingly United are 4th in the table so job well done…sort of!

Problem is we have control but no teeth, means that even when we are on top in games (we were against Brighton for much of the first half) we do nothing with it, with just means we are a bag of nerves when the opposition come back into it, if we address our goal threat a lot of things will fall into place, we are like a few things just knocking us out of alignment, when we get those tweaked thing will improve, problem is with barely 13 fit players to rely on there are few options to change, we need players for both quality and numbers

Important win.

We created more, but then we were playing against kids for a large portion of the game.

Couldn't keep a clean sheet either.

Depressing how far away we are

Let's just state facts, Rangers are gash and we made hard work of it again. Far too many players that either aren't trying hard enough or plain shite. I know people here blame the managers tactics, but this lot have been stinking the place up for years, so I'm not blaming Amorim.

We looked much more comfortable even though we conceded when Malacia came on. Looked like a change of formation to 4 at the back. Maybe something that suits our players better.

Not great but at least we beat that load of vile, racist scum. Rangers Int are even worse than the dead Rangers so any win is welcome but would've preferred a thumping. Sad to see Harry slipping back to the old McGuire at their goal. Our final ball around the penalty box still needs major work and scoring will remain a problem until this is vastly improved. Still, it was a win.

It was a messy win. It’s like we need the opposition to score before we decide to get into gear properly.

I can’t complain about Dessers goal, wonderful touch and turn, it was well taken and deserved. Luckily it made us come alive and Bruno managed to save us.

Toby Collyer did himself proud.
Kept it simple, highly mobile and growing in composure.
Made one big mistake, but that can be expected.

Ugarte and Collyer would be more solid than any other combination, but we still need to replace Casemiro with a strong solid CM player.

Boring game with a deserved win at the end. I thought, we played alright, nothing to write home about credit where credit is due. Our chance creation is poor and we tend to be very subceptible to counters. I wrote in the groupchat after 25minutes that we will have to make more than one goal because we will concede a fast counter.

I think, the players were fine, decent to good but Zirkzee slightly lower for being invisible most of the game. I also think Ugarte struggled a bit when he came on.

"vile, racist, scum"?

Am I crazy to say, at least, that I see progress here? The players seem to understand their roles a little better every week and they're moving and passing it with a higher tempo - especially in the second half.
