Get in there.

Massive result based on Newcastle and Spurs losing yesterday.

Always the worry when you play a team as often as we have played Forest this season that they will scrape a result at some point.

Exactly. We seem to be the only people who thought that he was excellent.
Everyone was good because Forest hardly did anything with the ball. One big error aside in the first half where he almost gifted them a goal, he was generally good.

Glimmer of hope? It would have to go very wrong now for us to lose out on top 4, especially considering the relatively easy fixtures we have left. Six points clear of 5th with a game in hand, and it's Spurs so they're likely to stumble at least once more along the way.

There are doomers on here that think liverpool will pipe us for 4th.

It was a very good away performance but we are really hamstrung by the dross we have collected over the years. Martial is often injured and when he is fit he does most of his best stuff outside the box. So infuriating to see him nowhere near the box with balls being played into the 6 yard box.
Sancho, sometimes good, mostly poor and lacks any kind of decisive threat. Wish he got borrowed some of Rashford’s confidence and take on a few players.
Martinez has really shown so much of what Lindelof lacks and we lose so much when Martinez is not on the pitch.
With all the injuries, we have zero attacking threat to bring on from the bench. If we had Garnacho or Rashford, could have scored a couple of goals more easily.
Promising what EtH has done so far, need another good window in the summer to become challengers.

We got lucky Maguire didn’t make it much harder for us early on, but after that we were excellent. Eriksen, Bruno and Antony were brilliant.
Cant wait until we get another good midfielder and a top striker.
Hope Martial can stay fit, his hold up play is important.

Probably Antony’s best game for us. Whatever you say about him, he has fire in his belly.

I expected to be grafting a little harder there.

Good performance considering injuries. Antony, Eriksen and Bruno really good.

AWB and Dolot (minus the gift first half) decent there.

Cas solid and thought Lindelof did well for the most part covering a car crash Maguire first half. Maguire composed himself after an awful opening half hour but feck....

3 points. Clean sheet. That is a good Sunday

Jimmy is correct. Maguire played very well.

Really? He made aerial clearances and so forth effectively enough, but I can't say I noticed him having tough aerial duels and winning them, much. On the most notable one, he was incredibly lucky not to cause a penalty, going up with his arm out and having the ball hit it. I still don't understand how they didn't give Forest a penalty on that. Otherwise, what was good? He struggled one on one pretty consistently. The early yellow, where he plainly just takes Awoniyi down before the ball is even played, because he wants to avoid a running duel at all cost. He could easily have seen red after elbowing same player in the face trying to hold him off, and he creates a free-kick in a dangerous position after again just taking his man down. Of constructive passing, there was none. That to me looks like player who's too short on confidence to be a positive factor. He overcompensates man-to-man by taking excessive and stupid risks, and in his passing he overcompensates by not attempting anything ambitious. I expected more after his strong showing against Sevilla, but this looked to me like quite a step backwards. It's been a while since he's been this bad, I thought.

Cooper trying to claim it was a stonewall pen and Maguire should have gotten a second yellow

Pfftt the man's clutching. If that had been his player and it had played out like he says then he'd be furious and peddling the whole 'big clubs get all the decisions' bollocks. I thought Maguire was really unlucky to get booked anyway to be honest, it looked very much like 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other, in terms of who was pulling who.

We played well today. It was only Forrest and they were pretty awful, but considering we had a game on Thursday night, lost our two starting CBs and stand in LB, then lose Sabitzer (who's been in the goals) during the warm up...I think we did well to regroup and put in a professional performance.

I wouldn't read in too much from this game. Forest is not PL class, except for Navas that is still world class.

Best we've played in a while to be fair. No coincidence it's when Casemiro and Eriksen are back starting together. Bruno was great.

Navas, was cursing him because he kept them in the game - at 0-1 and the way they were a threat on set pieces (throw-ins included) anything could have happened.

Bruno and Eriksen absolutely bossed the midfield but, I felt Casemiro was playing super reserved, almost pulling out of challenges it seemed like, might be a little gun shy from the reds.

Definitely think people just see the name Maguire and get a severe case of blurry vision. Counted 3 moments early that probably clouded any kind of objectivity on the rest of the game, yellow, a poor pass when he went forward and missed AWB by a mile and then a loose touch into our box. But, he recovered from it and had a very solid performance then on.

Sancho could have been more aggressive in the first but, at least he grew into in the second half and actually completed 90 minutes. Weghorst coming though to me is a big worry, he can't control a ball, win a header/duels and has no pace to get in behind. Elanga is not great but, he'd at least offer pace behind and you can get him to give as much effort in pressing.

Hope Forest stay up because I'd be confident of 6 points against them next year.

You can only play what's in front of you but weren't very good. Top four will be decided by injuries and the difficulty of the run in. We might be OK though.

Not "stonewall" but definitely falls under the "seen them given" category, and with those arseholes in VAR, who knows what they'll give.

I don't know what his arms were doing up that high in the first place. He can hardly say he was using them for leverage to jump cos he was standing on the f**king ground at the time!

I thought he was bracing himself against the other United players to keep his balance.

Great performance today.
Get Rashford back and replacing Sancho and that front 6 is a match for anyone.

I bet you neither does he. Guy looks like he doesn't know what is going on half the time when he plays for us.

If Forest gets relegated, we should try to sign Navas as the backup GK if he don't mind the role. He still looks good at this age and his saves were frustrating as he singlehandly kept Forest in the game for long period of time until got the 2nd goal.

I thought we played extremly well today. Yes easy opponent, but Bruno and Eriksen so good.

Antony also finally had a good game and Martial is our best striker. Just need Shaw and Rashford back for thursday and I think we beat Sevilla.

Yes it is away, but I trust us in europe away to do well.

Thought you looked excellent this afternoon. Bruno and Eriksen ran the game from start to finish.

Motm though for me was Navas - he totally kept Forest in that game, though they never looked like scoring.

Hope you don’t play like that next weekend.

Navas is such a good goalkeeper. Never quite understood what he's missing to stay at the top.

Strong performance from the team. Antony and Bruno were superb. I have the feeling one day Antony will start scoring and assisting for fun. He just needs to start enjoying himself a bit more.

Maguire was decent after a shaky start. But it seems clear he needs to go to prove himself again in another club to reignite his career. Lindelof was great and in general, I believe he has the correct level to be the 3rd or 4th CB in a club like ours.

Sancho needs to step up and he is running out of time. He had some good goal-scoring opportunities, but he needs to be more influential throughout the game. Still young, but once Garnacho and Rashford return and a reliable striker arrives, his gaming time will be very limited.

The Forest player who dropped like he was hit by a hammer when Harry buy an arm on his shoulder should have been booked for simulation.

There was no foul but he fell like it was possibly fatal. Clearly simulation to try and bring a second yellow and a red for Harry. That should have been a booking.

Bruno has morphed into Clarence Seedorf all of a sudden. He's been incredible recently.

Been like that for most of the time he has been with us to be fair.

That deep lying role instilled some much needed discipline in him. We need to make sure he retains that somehow and doesn't just go back to heroball again.

TBF even heroball Bruno is pretty great, it just pisses people off when we're under the cosh and he gives away the ball cheaply.

Maguire was great
AWB was outstanding
Dalot was great too
Bruno total control
Sancho had some highlights
Antony was frustrating. Bad decisions so often. Can’t beat a man. Ffs. Bring Pelistri on

I was thinking just that during the game. He's a player who has such an amazing skill set that he can do almost any role but the shift did seem to switch his mindset.
