28% doesn't mean it won't happen. It means that it will happen 28 times out of every 100. That's nearly a 1 in 3 chance. Always amazes me that people don't understand how statistics work.
88% chance doesn't mean it will happen either.

Always amazes me when people miss the point.

Watched Dalot's goal several times again, the whole move from start to finish was awesome. Up there with one of the best team goals I've seen in a long time.

First half hour Forest were giving as good as they got, several corners that were dangerous, one leading to Maguire's handball (I think it should have been a penalty). Forest hit the upright, came close another couple times (close to getting shots on target, I guess).

The goal changed everything. I think Forest have a point with saying if that penalty had been awarded and scored, the complexion of the game changes. Antony got the tap-in but Martial and Bruno did the hard grafting. It was a good shot from Martial, he's looking back to his best.

Bruno was playing with joy, really clever play from him.
Maguire + Lindelof blues explosion didn't kill us.
Dalot looked good on the left, better than Malacia.
Eriksen had a good game.
AWB turning into a beast.
Even Sancho looked good.

Not getting carried away, it was relegation-threatened Forest, but we played well and every game like this boosts the confidence of players like Sancho.

I can't believe this but Maguire and Lindelof played very well. Hope they can continue this form when Martinez and Varane are probably out for the season.

- I was surprised how comfortable Dalot looked on the left. He even still managed to fit in his trademark play the opposition through on goal touch. I'd almost be tempted to stick here there against Brighton amd have Shaw at CB (if he's fit).

- Having Eriksen and Casemiro back is huge. We control games with them two. With Eriksen the ball just flows smoothly straight through midfield. You barely see a sideways or backwards pass or even the ball stopping there long enough for the opposition to organise or press. I think he's our moat underated player.

Reseving judgement defensively as I thought a better team could easily have picked us off a few times, but Lindelof in particular did well.

2-0 flattered them except we've been doing this all season. We need about 40 opportunities per goal.

Casemiro has seemed a little rusty in the 2 games since the long suspension , so i think he will improve to another level over the next few games too. Whats going on with Fred though, did he do a drum roll on ETHs head or something?

Yeah. Well I thought he was fine against Forest but they didn't give him much to do. I think he will suffer a bit without Martinez as he's so comfortable on the ball it adjusts where Casemiro needs to put himself when we're in possession.

No idea with Fred except that you never know which Fred you'll get and at the best of times are probably going to get both. That and Sabitzer has improved a bit

Curious why people think this - Maguire had his arm on another United player - neither an unnatural position or making yourself bigger to block a shot, plus it dropped down onto his arm off one or more heads first.

VAR checked it and rightly agreed with the referee.

We were really great after that wobbly start. Maybe there is a chance to survive Thursday.

Because his arm was in "an unnatural position" as he was challenging for the ball, the ball struck his arm and it drastically altered the flight of the ball. Maguire deliberately addressed the ball and it struck his arm. It's plain as day. Anywhere else on the pitch and that is called a handball. We got lucky there. That penalty would have changed the momentum of the game.

If you’re holding someone, which Maguire was, your arm is usually extended. How is that unnatural?

“Natural position” != by your side at all times.

Exactly.

The witch hunt on Maguire is absurd. He deserves criticism for a variety of reasons but there was nothing unnatural about his arm position in that situation -- holding someone.

During play where there's no one within 3 yards of you, if your arm is extended out and the ball hits you it's a clear handball most of the time (unless you play for boro), but when you're wrestling with another player for position it's perfectly natural for your arms to be out.

This is a non-issue.

You already answered your own question: he was holding someone. Holding someone is not actually allowed, although it’s not frequently adjudged a foul. Maguire put his arms there, they didn’t magically fly to the opponent or get attracted magnetically, and that’s all it takes. He made an intentional action, it raised his arms, the ball struck his arm in this position. The VAR got it wrong.

He was holding Martial  It’s clear you’ve not seen the incident more than once, or as lex said, you’re just peddling an anti-Maguire agenda.
