Amorim has introduced much more disciplined structure into the setup which will mean we’re unlikely to see the high scoring drubbings we’ve taken in the last few years. The key will be finding a way to score within the structure and while still keeping our shape. We pulled it off today but I think we’re going to need to bring in a few more quality players before we can consistently do this.
If we stop leaking goals , we need to score less.
Amorim did the same at sporting. Getting solid first, then, progressively playing more attacking football.
It’ll take time but, we will be very good under him if we let him time and but him the right players.

Great win expecially after having to play away on Thursday.

Amad, Ugarte and Bruno were quality. And there looked like a good team spirit.

We are still shite at corners though and that needs sorting quick.

Deserved win. I wouldn't say we were amazing by any means, with plenty of areas for improvement. But in terms of general play, we were the better team and comfortable throughout, particularly in the second half.

Ugarte & Mainoo looked like the pairing in midfield we need. Solid, aggressive and technically proficient. City still edged possession, but they look to have had about 52% possession, one of the lowest amounts in a home game in years. It also helped that we continually had players in central areas. Defenders pushing up, the number 10s dropping deep, we always had 2 or 3 options or the guy on the ball. After all that time with a completely empty midfield under ETH, it feels like such a luxury to have a midfield again.

The defence looked solid from open play (though we need to stop conceding at corners...). Maguire in particular looked good and De Ligt seemed better pushed out right.

Our only real issue was a lack of quality up front. Yes, Amad came up with it when it mattered, but we could have been in front before with some more quality in the squad. Amad did good things in that game, but also messed up a few earlier situations. Bruno had a few moments but was otherwise fairly poor. Hojland worked hard, but, he always seemed to be 30 yards away from his team mates. With more attacking quality up front that tight game becomes a comfortable win.

So not electric, but it felt like a platform to build on. And given the complete jinx that City seem to have had over us recently, I can still celebrate an imperfect win.

Might need to put the City counter up in Old Trafford again, record games without a win for them cheats.

Fantastic

Low quality game for the most part. Last 10 minutes was magic though. feck City.

We can thank Amad for that win but it’s two moments of individual brilliance. Attacking unit’s lack of quality is concerning, another overhaul job.
We can hardly think of Amorim's 5th game and this squad to dominate one of the best manager in the history away from home. Yet from the statistics it was an even game when it comes to control of the game and for big chancers xG we outplayed them. Don't think we can ask for more. Much better then counter attacking roulette with 30% possession.

Insanely boring for about 85 minutes. Then the last five minutes happened. Insane indeed.

What an ending and what a great, great result. City look really poor currently but don't care, this is our first win away to a top side since... City 2021 probably. Spurs 3-0 away was November 2021 and that was good as well but obviously it's City/Liverpool/Arsenal as teams to beat, especially at their ground.

First half we were decent until their goal. Basically did nothing in attack but mostly fine in possession. Second half was definitely better. Amad's header, Bruno's huge chance when he was 1v1 with Ederson and even Mainoo's header were good chances. Thought we probably wouldn't get anything but City were playing to hold on to 1-0 and sometimes you get punished for it.

That's easily best win since the cup final and most enjoyable league win since 22/23 season.

That stunned silence at full time from the button munching, welcome-to-Manchester gimping, we-know-who-we-are wankers, cheating, would-be-nothing if not for United's success, glory chasing bottom feeding chuff heads, was priceless.

feck off Pep
feck off Walker you diving cnut

Get the feck in! A LOT of work still needs to be done but good to beat these cnuts at their place

This is all about Amad. What a wonderful player. Rashford and Garnacho take notice of his work rate his willingness to run and create.

About time we beat this cheating lot

I really really wish they implode for good and have a 10 year era of no CL football

Amad MOTM and Ugarte 2nd place

Wow. What a buzz when the winner went in. Amad is amazing.
Thought we controlled the game but lack any glimmer of fire power until the pen.
City were a shadow of last seasons team, so poor.
Delighted for Amourin.

42% of goals conceded from corners  That is absurd.

First time in years we've not been chasing the ball non stop for 90mins. Composed with the ball, barely threatened without it. Great fecking progress

A bit harsh, man

I thought quite a few of our players put in some decent shifts today (Ugarte, Maz, Martinez,) but it's just the attack is so blunt. Still I can't remember a game where we had so much possession against City. Says more about them at the moment that us, but still, I'll take it.

Amad is the star though.
All our players put a decent shift in, City had barely a sniff because of that
