PL W FA Premier League

Manchester United 3:2 Ipswich Town

Post-match discussion

Wed, 26 February 2025

Hung-on against one of the three teams, so bad, that we're fortunately not in a relegation battle.

Onana needs selling in the summer.

Terrible match, but genuinely enjoyed watching the team dig in and give 110%. Well done lads

Gifted two goals to Ipswich played with 10 men for 52 minutes could easily have been one of those nights but still won so credit where it's due regardless of the opposition.

Good win in the end under the circumstances.

We desperately need ball carriers in the team.

Well that should be us safe anyway, that Ipswich team are hardly getting past 33 points if they can't score against struggling 10-man United for 45 minutes.

We should have kept de gea. He would have been no worse, and we'd have 50 million to spend elsewhere.

He stays in his 6 yard box where he should be and that first goal doesn't happen.

Loved the fight from the lads tonight. Played well.

Very happy with the performance and of course the result!

2nd half. Good game management. Great fight. Did feat we'd lose in the 2nd half. Hard fought, but on another day take away the brain farts we win that comfotably

16 points clear!!!

Much harder than it needed to be, but good to get the 3 points in the end. Fair play to them for fighting back after the early Ipswich gift & the sending off.

I'm ecstatic with the 3 points. It's a terrible season and this game showed again why, but I needed that to have a little faith restored that this team isn't completely finished. Well done to the lads for a proper fight.

Jaysus. Every single point hewn from granite. Bruno, Harry, Zirkzee great, Yoro good, we dug in in the second half and actually didn't give up a chance all game. I have zero interest in anyone pushing the 'it's only Ipswich' line, we're in the shit, massive pressure on every match, we're in a parallel universe, some of the players are adjusting to it, maybe even embracing it and I'm there too. Feck it.

3 points, safe from relegation.
Yoro, Bruno, Ugarte, De Ligt, Magnum condom, Zirkzee all did well.
Shame about the red, really no defending it though, we were playing quite nice stuff until then. First Amorim PL game I thought we were looking comfortable.
That wasn’t a PL game. Ipswich are championship level.

Horrible start.
Given we had 10 men good to get the win.

If we started we'll we should have coasted this, but we don't do that.

Good fight from the team. Now do that every week as a bare minimum.

Pretty awful yet again from some certain individuals. Showed immense spirit though in the second half. Bruno was a true leader today. Thank god Ipswich can't defend.

We can't score from corners and suddenly we got 3.

Our defence doing it all for this game. Scoring 2 of the 3 goals and giving away 2. Onana is a calamity that seriously needs to be replaced.

Hojlund needs to be dropped. We are basically playing with one man short.

Did well to not fold and actually go ahead with just 10 men.

The players look shattered after that though.

« That’s Ipswich » mate. They are a championship team.

With you on this comment.

We're staying up! That's all that matters I guess. Feck me we're a shambles though.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Let's not forget how poor de gea was in his last season.

Delighted with the win as I genuinely fear the threat of relegation. Performances doesn't mean that much anymore as I expect us to be poor for the rest of the season anyway.

I don’t think Dorgu should have got a red. He clearly got the ball and it was the follow through. Bad game for him tonight, but glad we found a way to win.

That’s all we need for the next few months. Wins in some form!

This team cannot be quantified. Relieved to effectively secure survival, see you next season.

With 11 men this ends 4-1. We just had to fight once down to 10.
