Fulham 0:1 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

It was two mid table teams with very little quality on display, it’s a good win despite an awful performance from start to finish.

The worrying thing is you can’t put that performance down to lack of effort or tactics it was just a collection of very ordinary players who were o wot in the final third.
True to a degree. Not all our players are woeful, just the key ones for our formation ie the striker

Grim stuff but you'll take the 3 points every day of the week, won't you? People need to cop on with the 'should be beating these with our eyes closed' nonsense. We're a mid table team at the moment, no point pretending we're too good for this. Grind them out till we find a centre forward, a couple of wing backs and a bit of belief. Onward and upward.

It was slow and uninspired but we have stolen the three points with a lucky goal, Fulham must be sick of us now. I thought defensively we were solid and only looked like conceding when Fulham were chasing but we had little threat going forwards, which wasn’t helped by Hojlund who had as poor of a game as I’ve seen him play. Amad was a little unlucky at the end with the offside, it was so close. I think it’s 4 wins in 5 now so I’m hoping we can start to build some confidence in order to play better football going forwards.9

Great result.

Poor game, but where this team is at then I'm not expecting / demanding us to go to tough away games and win in style.

Obviously still plenty to work on and improve, and the result could have gone either way - could easily have finished a draw or an ugly, ground out win for Fulham instead. But we put in a tough, committed away performance and came away with an ugly win. That's more than good enough for now.

It's not a win that makes me in any way more confident in general, but its just really nice to win so I'll enjoy it in isolation.

Three of the ugliest points utd will ever win but important. This is a utd absolutely devoid of confidence with only one player, Amad, showing anything going forward. A team surrounded by negativity from owners, fanbase and media. The only thing that will change the narative is wins from being solid and with those wins will hopefully bring confidence and then performance. We live in hope but it's the hope that kills us. Anyway we move on to hopefully another win thursday!

Dull game, decent defensively, poor attacking wise, but all in all not a bad result against the team that Newcastle, Forest, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea failed to beat this season.

13 points clear from relegation zone. Only positive thing to take away from this. It's really a shame that we are playing like this.

Great defensive performance. Poor in attack yet again, sadly we have dreadful CFs.

MOTM Licha for me, for the goal alone. No other standout player.

Btw, was Amorim crying at the end? Seemed like he was wiping tears?
Crying, after watching that.

If you don't laugh, you'll cry - and he chose the latter.

A win is a win. We played worse in the Southampton game and got the points there.

Liverpool and Arsenal have had similar games this season and come away with the points and that’s all that matters at the moment.

V solid win

I'd like to know what the instructions are to onana because 9 times out of 10 he belts the ball up field. Surely he's being told to do that which is an odd tactic when rasmus is up top.

Much needed win.

I recall Amorim in a previous press conference saying that at the start, you sometimes need a little bit of luck to go your way.

Winning time to implement the system. Happy Sunday everyone

Played poorly overall but thats now 4 wins in 5, hopefully we'll start to build some momentum now.

United were lucky to get the points. Yet Fulham did nothing for 96 minutes!! Which one is it to be?
Don't think United were lucky to get the points. After 30 minutes had gone it was mostly united for the rest of the game, until United scored and then it changed things and Fulham had to press forward.

I mean - both teams were atrocious but it was sort of a classic away win really, can't think of much that got created at either end, but united had a few free kicks in dangerous positions that they should have done better with too.

I think the offside ruling on the second goal was extremely harsh too, it looked onside.

Very pleased with the win but have just looked at the ‘match stats’. At the time of writing 87 votes have been cast with scores indicating that collectively the team performance was above average. Above average for that performance. I obviously watched a different United game.

That was horrible but at this stage we needs points so, whatever!

I cannot believe how poor our main forwards are. I mean I KNOW they’re poor at the moment but it’s always shocking for some reason.

The five games in February are really important in the fact they are all winnable, before we go in to a difficult period March and April, so at least 8/9 points and in next round of cup.

And ...... Anthony Taylor with Brad Gillett - maybe they’re not the worst or were they just having a bad day!!!

Hojlund was shocking in the first half. Absolutely bereft of confidence. The ball gets to him and it's just lost instantly. Gave away their two best chances too.

Similar story with Garnacho. Kept overplaying it and losing the ball.

They have just not been good enough for the level we want to be at, and we should take -anything- Napoli offer, we can surely do better

That we had to have the ball cleared off the line from a corner suggests we're still weak as water at set pieces but we played the last few minutes well enough. I'll take it.

No signings, no compromise on the manager’s vision and three points. It’s not much to shout about, but for now I’ll take it!

Let’s pray we start to see some entertaining football soon!!

Get in there.

Honestly expected nothing especially when I realised the game was on at 7pm and not 2pm. Credit to the lads for grinding that one out though.

If we finish mid table but win Europa, I can live with that..it’s been a very odd year, and Amorim is doing ok with literally no players that actually fit this system, be interesting to see what happens once he does get some in

We just have to sign at least one proper wing back to play this system.

Can Sir Jim have a whip round or something because it's pretty obvious it's what we need.

Fluked a goal, fluked a win. Desperately needed the 3 points so I won't complain. On to the next one.
