Post-match discussion

Hopefully the media can now leave us alone and pick on Spurs. Three points, might have been ugly but still three points.
I didn't realise that Spurs were below us?? The way the media goes on I thought we were below all the usual top 'six'...

Fulham:lol:

We might be relegated and play them in the cups from down in the championship, but we will still win at the cottage.

A win and a clean sheet. You can only hope this starts to lift the confidence. It wasn't pretty.

Good to see the defence hold out, big credit to young Toby for that too. This season is going to be about clean sheets though, because that attack is rank right now, just nothing working reliably.

Away fans were brilliant, as usual. Ruuuuben Amorriim Ruben Amorim..

Didn't watch it but glad to see the win.
Besides the 3 pts and the clean sheet, any other positives to be taken?
Didn't look like conceding apart from the usual drama from a corner.

Our biggest problem is that with Hojlund at #9 we cannot hold the ball and build any kind of platform for an attack, but with Zirzkee in the #9 we have nobody attacking the box or running behind.

Gruesome watch but three points are three points.

Lucky to get 3 points tonight…but United have had no luck all season, so it’s about time.

Fulham did feck all as well for 96 mins.

So get in!

I may have put a lot out of my mind; but that has to be one of the worst wins that we've had.
Do you remember under LVG, when Rooney kicked the ball and it went it at the Emirates ? We were winning 0-1 while we didn’t even had a shot on goal. That was that kind of game.

Good win that at any time, as Fulham aren't a pushover on their own patch.
Current version United - that's an excellent win.

Hopefully we can build a few wins back to back now, rather than the good / bad rotation we've been seeing.

Horrible, horrible watch from start to end.

Absolutely zero threat.

ONE... ONE shot on goal, which was a deflected shot.

Terrible but a wins a win. Away support were brilliant.

We have no one that can pass a ball and we are so slow it’s unreal.

Fulham really approached that game in the worst way possible, going against the grain of how teams have tore us apart recently.

I feel like the result was more because of what they didn’t do, but fair play to the back three and Toby Collyer, they worked hard and got us over the line.

After that Skelley red card yesterday I'm bamboozled that Martinez wasn't given the immediate red. Holy hell, talk about dangerous play. How did he get away with a double stamp (and a lunge at that)?

PGMOL said that the only reason he didn't get the red is because he didn't make contact. I'd be pissed if that was the other way round; and then for him to score the winner. Look, I can understand why Fulham fans would be majorly pissed.

Taking any win at this point. Team needs confidence. You can tell everything they do is the safest option. With confidence they’ll be able to express themselves more as currently the team is scared stiff.

We desperately need a striker.

Yes, other positions need filling too, but we are in a postion where we have to prioritize.

The biggest change we can make is have someone who can put the ball in the net reliably. If we don't, the rest of the season will be like this, nervy, close results against almost any team in the league.

Not much to really say about that game. We defended well and that's really all you can take as a positive.

We still look awful going forward.

Yesss! Delighted with that! Need a few wins to pick up some sort of form. Solid defensively, on the whole. That will do!

Defensively, I thought we were good tonight. We just need more at the other end. I liked Martinez's mindset when stepping into midfield and I want to see more of that. The issue is that we struggle to move the ball forward as a team. We play a bit too deep and we don't step forward together as a unit enough. There's not enough pace on the wings from Maz and Dalot, and they're not particualrly amazing at finding the right passes either.

We're basically limping on by until we can bring new players into the squad to replace what we have in a few key positions. The centre forward position is a real concern. Hojlund and Zirkzee offered nothing all night.

Crucially, we got the points. 1-0 away at Fulham is still a great result, imo.

Ugarte made a tackle in the middle of the field on Adama Traoré that was much worse the tackle from Skelly yesterday.

1 loss and 4 wins in our last 5 games.
Let’s hope Amorim can build some momentum, even if we are ugly to watch

It was two mid table teams with very little quality on display, it’s a good win despite an awful performance from start to finish.

The worrying thing is you can’t put that performance down to lack of effort or tactics it was just a collection of very ordinary players who were very poor in the final third.

Solid at the back and decent in midfield. A wins a win

Isn't being solid at the back how Amorim started at Sporting then working his way up through the team?

Fans were a 10/10

Two different teams there today.. A good defensive unit and an abject attacking unit.

Improvement is there for sure because we lose that game 2 months ago. Fight is there to make a base platform for wins. Ruben needed 2-3 of these when he came in and started so it would have built some momentum, but better late than never.

It’s important to make these players realise that if they suffer on the pitch, and fight for each other - they can bail each other out even if the performance on the ball is poor. You can have off days but you need to give yourself a chance to win.

Unfortunately we should be doing much better against Fulham but this is a start. Don’t see this kind of effort in most games against the mid table teams.
