Great result, some good performances from players who have struggled recently. Positive goal difference. Clean sheet. Very nice.

Martinez being an idiot again and now suspended for Arsenal has annoyed me.

Also, I feel sorry for @SilentWitness , one of the better opposition team posters on here, and doesn't deserve that shithouse of a manager. Everton fans are in for a brutal Christmas.
Didn't see the game. Was watching Moana 2 with our niece. Was it that bad? :(

Positive performances all round, and strikers scoring will only do them good.

Passing needs to improve and some common culprits in the team that need an upgrade. Arse will be difficult and will rely on good defence to keep us in game but looking forward to it....something I haven't said for a while!

Wait, goal difference goes above zero? I thought that’s where it tops out.

What is this sorcery?
3 games into new manager and we have shape, visible patterns and positivity.
Amad brilliant. Rashford and Zirkzee CAN work in this set up!

Great result and play but we have to remember this is Everton and they are absolutely pony

Looked a football team today. Amad MOTM.

Too bad about Martinez and Mainoo getting suspended, though.

Everton went through midfield few times in first half, arsenal is a much better team and utd would need legs in midfield, can’t afford to be cut like today

The 4 goals were great and all, but watching us see out the game to the point where Everton gave up on any form of pressing was something I've not seen from this team in years, it nearly brought a tear to my eye. It's night and day from the constant frenetic finishes we're used to seeing.

Really excited to see an Ugarte and Mainoo CM pairing, it could be the balance we've been looking for in the middle.

Still a little shaky at the back, but the signs are there that they'll be ironed out with time.

3 games in and I thought I couldn't love again, but here I am ready to be hurt again :')

That's the most exciting we've looked in the league for a long time. Amorim has done a great job with the rotation of the squad, it's really refreshing to have a manager making proactive subs. Our options off the bench looked plentiful today, largely because he has a better understanding of how to get the best out of these players.

I think its all about context and results isn't it. Its nice to bring players on and rotate when there is little chance of it backfiring and you aren't making subs to change the game. Theres no pressure on the players. People massively underestimate the difference in everything when you are winning games and things are going well.

Plenty of Amorims subs so far have been odd. I assume hes trying things, resting players and generally just wants to get a feel of things but you can't stick Casemiro at CB in a game you need to win. You can't take off your best performing players early in the second half and then lose or draw games when you need a win.

What Amorim is doing so far is great and if he can keep all the players happy then his job will be 100x easier. We never hit our stride under EtH and I would say we very rarely did under the previous managers either. Perhaps under Ole for a while near the start. If we can put a run together and perform well as a team, the players will start to believe they are good and they will be good. Feel like you are always scraping matches and you are always looking over your shoulder and waiting for it all to fall to pieces. Good sides never think they are going to lose even when they do.

This was good, in so many ways!

- Amad getting better by the day, dominating.
- finishing our opportunities.
- ZZ scoring. Looking at his play, it was clear what it did to his confidence
- pretty composed overall
- clean sheet
- Shaw back in the team
- squad depth! Even kept Hojlund on the bench

It has to be said that even though this was a bigger win than EtH ever got in the PL, our xG was < 1. So some luck was involved. But I’ll take it!

xG doesn't really capture the kind of shooting opportunities we had for at least both of Zirkzee's goals - it's just about the position where the shot is coming from, if I have understood this correctly. Most of the time when players are shooting from those positions, you don't have a scoring opportunity as big as the ones Zirkzee had. And both of Rashford's really weren't high-percentage opportunities, just brilliant finishes.

You played well for 20 mins or so in the first half, after that you were just as poor as ever under Dyche, dude is a dinosaur and has no place in the premier league. Moana 2 was the best option today.

Need to pick really sturdy, pair of runners for MF Vs arsenal. Ugarte will start, with mainoo banned will prob b Cas next to him.

Delighted with that, Amad was absolutely splendid and I am so happy for Zirkzee, that will do him the world of good.

Don't think the game tells us much as it mostly came down to Everton's defenders being awful, but that's fine. For this extended holiday period with heavy rotation and the team adapting, I'm more than happy just to get the results needed to keep us ticking over.

I know Everton are terrible so you have to take it with a pinch of salt but today was very promising. Amorim has made quite clear and obvious changes in a very short time.

Amad was brilliant today. If everyone in the team had his desire to win the ball we’d be a handful for any team.

Still a long way to go but you can see something starting to emerge. Amad's game today brought back memories of past wingers terrorizing the opposition fullbacks.
I also like his rotation and earlier substitutions. It keeps a lot more players happy and the system doesn't change when he does make a sub.
Over all a very enjoyable game to watch.

It's quite obvious he's prioritising the conditioning of the players coming into a busy part of the schedule to minimise injuries and ensure he gets a chance to look at all of the players in different roles.

The Casemiro sub was to preserve De Ligt when we didn't have any other CBs on the bench. I doubt he would've made that change if he had Maguire, Yoro or whoever else to call on.

I've also been impressed with how quickly he's identified which players suit the roles in his system. Mazraoui looks great in that RCB role, Amorim is smart enough to know Shaw doesn't have the physical capacity to play wing back at the moment so is playing him LCB, he's giving Amad the opportunity to play which he rarely got under the previous manager. He pretty much abandoned the Rashford experiment at striker after one game because he didn't like what he saw.

It's early days but the signs look encouraging. Identity has been a huge problem for us for the last decade and it looks like we're starting to fix that now. It's so much better than anything we've seen for the previous 18 months.

Rubbish first 25 mins but very good after that.
Everton are a dreadful side mind. Every goal was more or less a mistake.
Still that score line never happens under ETH in the Prem regardless of opposition. I do like the space our wbs get in this system .

I missed half #1, but we looked good —sometimes a bit panicky, and I’m not sure where/who the midfield was…. But nice to see. The players must have been miserable the last few years.

Biggest moment was being 2-0 yet starting the 2nd half aggressive and on the front foot looking for a 3rd goal, something we got after 25 seconds. Under our recent managers, we’d have gone into our shell at 2-0 waiting for the inevitable Everton goal to make it 2-1. Encouraging.

Good enough performance and a great result. Our biggest win over Everton since September 2017 (was 4-0 back then as well). Only 2nd time we scored 4 in a PL game since win vs Chelsea in May 2023 when it was 4-1. First time we beat a team with 4 goal difference since August 2021 (5-1 vs Leeds).

Don't think it was a 4-0 win but can't complain. There is plenty of work to be done with this team and think we'll struggle a lot this season but will probably also have moments and games like today where we score plenty and look good.

I know xG can be misleading but it's not like we created plenty, mostly took our chances and punished them for mistakes.

This will give the lads a lot of confidence. Wasnt good all the way through, but there was a lot of good play and moments. Starting to look like a team with a plan and formation.

Great win. Such a relief to see Utd being able to coast for the last half an hour.

I have to say though, people here saying the xg was less than 1, which just seems madness to me, I don't understand how opta rate chances at all, because other than Rashford's deflected first, all goals were clear cut chances any of our forwards should be putting away 9 times out of 10. If these level of chances amount to less than 1xg, then I'll happily take us having a very low xg for the rest of the season.

Zirkzee and Rashford 2 goals each, Bruno and Amad 2 assists each. Not bad at all

We will have a better goal difference then City after their game. Can’t believe it.

( watched in my local bar whenever I’m in Bangkok at The Sportsman and rammed full of Utd fans, there’s loads of Scouse shirts arriving too and I’ve not seen ONE city shirt… Us and Liverpool are still by a massive difference the biggest clubs here in Thailand)
I have also been semi regular customer in The Sportsman. Arguably the most sure choice in BKK if you need to see some sport event. If needed they even open at 6-7am. And yes, United and Liverpool are the thing in Thailand. Huge different to any other team. Around 10 years ago there used to have "mega red day war" events, or called something like that. Thousands of people in the park watching games from the big screens. Food and cheap beer. Those were nice but haven't found those anymore.

Sorry about off topic.

Enjoyable performance this afternoon and a comfortable win in the league for a rare treat. Sometimes our passing wasn’t as strong as I’d hoped and Everton threatened occasionally with their physicality and aggression but we ultimately had too much quality plus Branthwaite had a mare.

Amad was superb today with his ability to nick the ball. Commendable contribution from Bruno, Rashford and Zirkzee as well.

Great watch once we had weathered the first 25 minutes.
Amad is a beast at pressing and snatching the ball from the opp. Hes so good.
Two nice finishes from zirkzee. A brace for rashford.
Mainoo shaw and Harry back from injury with Yoro to come.
Things looking up. Bigger tests to come.
