FA W FA Cup Semi-Final

Everton 1:2 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Sat, 23 April 2016

I can't remember the last time I jumped about like that after a goal. So much so I've been compelled to post about it on here.

It's been a slog of a season, but that one felt good.

If LVG stays, I believe he will get rid of DDG.
Madrid will definitely want DDG...no doubt about it.
Only if the manager is prepared to fight for him (which LVG is not), will DDG stay.
Do yourself a favour mate! Watch a re run of the match with a massive feck off bar of Dairy Milk, some weed and have a wank!

He got a knock mate , which coincided with them getting back into the match as he wasn't able to track back the full back's run. I thought he was going to be taken off so credit to him for sticking it out for a few minutes and coming good st the end

Maybe. But I wouldn't attribute the dominate second half Everton had with an injury/knock to Martial; they dominated from the second half whistle until the end of the match. Martial's defensive impact isn't so much to account for that.

There were a couple chances in the 2nd half Martial gave up on, maybe he was hurting, but it was still disappointing to see.

Jubliation on the only one that ended up mattering though!

I feel the same way! I have not been this happy about a result for a long time. Genuine, euphoric happiness. This is why we love the great game.

Oh, and that block from Fellaini against Lukaku, how he tracked back and sniffed it out - that was huge. He had a great game.

I've been very criticial of Fellaini all season long and probably even at times unfair but tonight if I don't praise his great I don't think I'll take myself seriously anymore when it comes to football. Loved his goal celebration too.

strange thing to say when DDG is the one saving LVG's ass right now

A lesser player might have asked to come off though. Shows character IMO

He played really well today and was unlucky to come off. We won so he is going to Wembley, yet again, so alls good. Win the cup and we will be in the season opener.

I think he absolutely deserves to start in the final off that performance.

Two separate issues surely? Can enjoy the win and still want LVG gone?

Nothing wrong with that. But there are some that are upset that we won and are more worried about LVG possible staying than enjoying getting into the FA Cup final.

Wow. First time I've been jumping around the living room scaring the kids and dog like that for a long time. What a finish!
I did that when Martial scored againts Pool, but yeah, did it tonight as well.

Great game, was standing up the last 30 mins. FA Cup magic this.

When Herrera was coming on I said to my little lads "look, this cute fecker is going to score, no, assist a goal". We went bollocks obvously.

Again, maybe. It could have also worked out that those chances he gave up on, someone else could have gotten on the end of and finished, not needing until injury time to settle things.

It's hard to not let the way the match ended distort your vision of events.

Should have been out of sight and denied a blatant penalty.

A lot of our own fans were saying that Martial needs to be taken off.
LVG kept him on...and BOOM.
Same with Herrera for Fellaini. Herrera got the assist.
LVG got those 2 right.

Still buzzing!!

Tony Martial came from France,
English press said he had no chance.
50 Million down the drain,
Tony Martial SCORES AGAIN!!!!!

His answer to whether winning the FA cup is important for the development of the squad was weird. Insinuated he may not be here next season when there was absolutely no need. I genuinely don't think the board have decided who is in charge next season.

As for the game, buzzing that we got the win. Getting the first trophy after SAF will be a big thing off our backs, and will really give some of these young players the belief to develop in the future, let's hope we can go on and win it now.

Great game. I think we all deserved this.

I could flipping kiss DDG.
Great to see Martial play very well.
Rashford plays every game as though it's a reserve game, and I mean that in the best way possible. Just doesn't seem phased and clearly wants to impress, without trying too hard and ruining things as a team.
Fellani played his best game for us so far (and by far), and Rooney probably put in his best performance in a couple of seasons (ie. actually had a positive affect on the team).

All fantastic to see.

With fresh players our most effective formation seems to be 4141. Today again we started brilliantly with effective vertical movements in our front line.

In the second half we lost our momentum and started to protect spaces instead of pressing the ball holder. But all in all it was a very good performance.

It was a terrible performance, or patchwork at best, anyway. Did you see the 2nd half?

How relieved or surprised were we to see the winning goal? It had hardly been coming had it.
