Post-match discussion

Boy, just imagine if we had won the last two games with the last minute headers from Rashford and Casemiro. This team would be in a different universe now.

It was a very good performance even if we were a bit toothless upfront. Absolutely loved the comeback and Casemiro doing his nut at the end.

Two very encouraging performances and you can see it's coming together but we desperately need a goal scorer.

As much as we could (and probably should) have won that, I'll still take a lot of positives from it...
  • Another very good performance
  • Defence solid again, individually and as a unit
  • Casemiro
  • We created a few very good chances, away, to a top 6 team
  • The mental attitude to go straight at them after conceding
  • Nine games in Oct but we didn't look tired
  • Played Newc, Spurs and Chelski.. not lost
Just need to be more clinical on chances. If we keep that level of performance (and Scott doesn't make stupid mistakes), we'll beat most teams we play - feeling pretty confident right now about top 4.

Glass definitely half full.

(Hope Varane ok, doesn't look good).

(Imagine a burger randomly picking Casemiros house... while he had Martinez round :) loving them two).

By watching football. Dominating possession doesn’t mean you were not outplayed if you didn’t know.

Ok, how about in the last 5 games they’ve had 18 more shots than their opposition. More of the ball + more shots at goal = being outplayed? Uh huh. Makes sense.

EDIT: This is league fixtures only. As @duffer said they also tore AC Milan a new one. Twice.

No one else pissed off the ref blew on exactly 6 minutes ? Liverpool or city in the same situation get 9 minutes, easy.

We battered AC Milan home and away over the past few weeks. We're not the best side in the league but we're certainly not shite.
Tomoris red card however.

The Serie A is a weak league in general. Any of the top 6 would beat Milan convincingly imo.

Very happy about this game tbh. No it was not as good as the Spurs game, but i’m more than happy to take a draw with another performance where we show team spirit, and playing with a plan.

Until Kovacic came on it was a one team game, kudos to Potter for that adjustment. After that i’d say they were slightly better, but all in all a draw is probably fair.

We are obviously a bit toothless in front of goal and not just in the striker role either but from the wings as well as sancho and Antony are not known as goalscoring wingers.

Think I would prefer to see rashford on the left rather than striker where he has been more of a threat and maybe use sancho in a central role as a false 9.

United currently remind me a bit like when we played under van gaal in terms but with less caution in creating goal scoring opportunities in the final third

I’ll go by watching games. Agree the did well against Milan. They didn’t play very well against either Villa or Brentford.

Anyway we’ll see. I think we will come above them in the league comfortably to be perfectly honest.

Celebrated the equaliser like a man possessed

if only I wasn’t on my own in the living room

I think we will too. I also think they’ll be in the top four battle to the bitter end. Potter knows what he’s doing and they had one of the better squads in the league even before their mental owner spunked all that cash on even more good players.

Potter is a good manager no doubt. But I think if Liverpool get there act together Chelsea will miss out.

I am at least engaged once again with the team. It's so much better than last year.

It's a decent point and we give a feck again.

Yep! Going to my first game this season next Sunday, so great timing for us to look like a proper side again.

And apart from those two games? I can’t see how you’re not, it’s not that long ago you had to sack your manager

Maybe. But the weeks keep slipping by without them turning the corner everyone expects them to turn. Which is, of course, absolutely glorious to watch.
Haha it is. Players will be fit after the world cup. And I think Spurs come above Chelsea anyway. Conte will get them going when it matters

It's not long ago you had to sack your manager either so are you also shite?

We've both got new managers in, we've both had injury/personal issues.

We're 4th in the league and top of our champions league group. If we're shite, what are all the teams below us?

But I think we have the performances to back it up. I literally can’t think of another league game you played well in apart from Wolves. Thanks to the Queen you haven’t actually played that many league games under Potter so it’s a stretch to say you’re still a quality side when your last three games have seen Kepa as your arguably your best player. Plus the dodgy VAR decisions that seems to go your way most games, that can cover up a fair amount of trouble for you and gets you out of jail. You may grow into Potter ball but there’s nothing really there just yet

You played well against (lads it's) Spurs and for about 30 minutes today. You also got battered by Man City and battered by Brentford so lets not pretend it's all been great under Hag.

You're a work in progress of course, as are we and to call either side "shite" is just dumb.

Anybody questioning Casemiro’s heart and motivation should just watch that celebration, if they are too blind to see how good his attitude is in matches.

For a well-deserved away draw against 4th in the league. Stupid cnuts

You could hear it pretty clearly on TV quite a few times. Same old thing whenever teams play us really, the authorities don't give a shit.
Just banter

As with Martinez in defence and Casemiro in the middle ETH has to find CF of that quality. Sooner the better.

This encapsulates the entrenched media narrative against us.

Pathetic

Feck . We drew? I was on the road and last heard they scored from a penalty.

Frustrating we didn't make more of that first 35 mins, however can't beat an injury time equaliser away from home

Front 3 disappeared after 30 mins…

Antony should have scored, and Tashford was invisible. Ronaldo, despite everything, needs to be starting up front.

McT - WTF was that?!

Very frustrating as that’s another game that we should have one but we’re toothless upfront.

On the plus, we can see the press really starting to have an impact.
