Roy Keane talks about us like we’re coming off the back of Fergies last season in charge and the last ten years and last season didn’t happen.

And JFH must have watched a completely different game to the one I just watched.
Forget that man and his nonsenses. I was a big fan but I started to dislike him more and more. He's simply trying his best to discredit the team to serve his own agenda.

It’s our own fault we didn’t win but Chelsea can’t perform like they did in that first half and say they deserved something. We have a top striker we win that game in those 35 minutes. It was total control. Can’t remember the last time we’ve done that away to a top side. I’m chuffed with ETH.

Good post.

Losing Varane and losing the game would've been really harsh on us.

I loved how we played that 1st half, we rarely ever dominate our rivals at their ground so that was funny. 2nd half was even with Chelsea having more of the ball but not really creating anything.

2 of 4 subs were at fault for Chelsea's goal today - Elanga giving away so cheap at their end, allowing them to counter attack and have that corner afterwards. Then McTominay at main fault with that stupid and reckless foul.

Let's rest most of them vs Sheriff now and get ready for West Ham in PL.
am I going mad? who came on for varane? I thought it was lindelof but he's not in the list on the side of the page

A decent result.
The United players looked fairly happy at the end there. You can really see the progress ETH is making.
On an another note; Antony and Casemiro look like street fighters. I wouldn’t want to cross them.

Get in there. Was at the game. Great ending. Felt like we were the best team.

He's doing his bit for Ronaldo by trying to make ETH look bad.

We started very well. I thought G. Potter did well to introduce Kovacic and changed his midfield tactics and it kind of worked. But we were the better team even in the second half. Relieved when we equalised. This team is going places now.

stoned much?

Why didn't Ten Hag target their right hand side when they went to a back 4? Elanga in 5 minutes showed how much a pacy winger could damage them. Instead, we persevered with Sancho and Bruno there for so long.

We probably need to think of being as aggressive as we were leading up to the equaliser. Put some balls in and get Casemiro in there on heading duties. Might get the goals that way because it's not quite happening however we're going about it at the moment.

No one please mention Ronaldo because he could not play at the pace of this game today.

Quite enjoyed that game. It’s a joy to watch players wanting the ball and able to get out from tricky situations without hoofing the ball. We aren’t second to every 50/50 now either.

The rebuild is going strong and it’s clear that we’re 2-3 players away from being back on top.

chelsea offered absolutely nothing going forward and lucky to come out with a draw.
I think we are back to the top already, but we don't have the squad yet to complete with City on all fronts. In a one off game, everyone being fit, I would back us against almost any team, but in a long haul league setting, not quite yet.

Martial needs be supplemented. We need competition up top. Ronaldo doesn't cut it at the minute and rashford isn't a striker. I don't think we need 100m for competition, I think we should be looking at a 40 -50m striker that we can consistently rotate with Martial. Don't think there is a striker worth 100m at the moment that we can buy.

I would also sign a DM an RB, again to compete. Fred as a 4th choice midfielder is much better than him being 3rd choice. Preferably, this would be someone who can play both a 6 and 8, but is also young enough to potentially replace either Casemiro or Eriksen in time. Dalot has been great, but we don't have options outside of him.

DAMx...i went to bath after conceded the penalty & missed the equalizer
I think we play a very good game before Varane subbed out.
But on the other side, the lack quantity and quality of the bench is a huge serious problem. Hope that ETH got backed by board in Jan transfer window.

Its been a long time since we've dominated like that away from home against a top 4 calibre club. Especially at stamford bridge.

You'd have to go back to maybe RVPs maiden year with us. Ironically if we had him upfront we'd have won by 3 goals

Really impressed and proud of UTD. You guys are showing some good football, the first 45 mins was really impressive.

We’ve progressed further than most would have expected by this stage.

As has been stated and is very obvious we need a new striker, and less urgently probably a number 10 whose better at threading passes at the edge of the opposition box.

Losing Varane is probably worse than dropping two points though. Him and Martinez looked great together and very complimentary as well.
I'd rather if we lost the game in the end but Varane not getting injured. It's a huge blow.

Draw probably fair and away to Chelsea is never easy, but it's annoying because we didn't really concede much in open play. Not sure we'd have scored if we hadn't conceded first but it's hard not to wonder.

Big problem was the lack of attacking quality in the final third. When we dominated first half, we couldn't finish our opportunities. When we were under the cosh second half, we had nothing on the counter attack to make them worry. Even if we just had Martial fit, Id fancy us to win that game. If we had him plus a new attacker or two, definitely.

Fuming at Ronaldo by the way. This is exactly the situation we needed him for. Late sub when we need a goal

Gutted for Varane. Looked like an ACL, which is his season probably gone. Massive blow, for him and us. Thought the defense looked good with Lindelof but he's been excellent for us. Could be a major blow for top four.

On the plus side - Casemiro. What a fracking guy. Was everywhere in that second half and it was one of those goals where it was like he just willed it into the net. And the chest thump at the end... bro.

We have six games against midtable or lower teams now, three either side of the World Cup. We need to max out our return from those games to make top four viable

This is a huge result for us.
I felt very relieved, it feels like a win to me. Martinez man of the match for me, he is such a sharp defender. Bar our front three we look really solid for weeks now. What exactly is going wrong upfront is beyond my comprehension. It is almost as if sancho and antony aren’t allowed to dribble, it is all very predictable and stale.

If the front 3 don’t improve I don’t think we will get 4th place.

Ronaldo cost us as well because he could have been very useful as a sub.

Desperate for a competent striker, I'm afraid with Rashford, Elanga, Ronaldo up front we are not scoring many goals. Martial is a crock and cannot be relied on for 2 games!

Can see top 4 going on the fact that we miss so many presentable chances and then have brain fart moments like today.

I feel that cameo from McTom should seal his fate!
so his getting the win last week should see him play CF every week? fred was on longer and was far worse

Really impressed and proud of UTD. You guys are showing some good football, the first 45 mins was really impressive.
Thanks! ETH doing really well with the lads.

By the way, have you got a striker we can borrow? :D

They are fourth and better than the team who are third who we beat midweek and also the team who are top who we beat a couple of weeks ago. They’re not that shit.
Nope, they’re shit. That’s three really shit performances in a row now. Especially when they rested so many mid week and still looked like they were running through mud

Casemiro has made us legit. Single handedly. 4 tough games in a row where United were the better team... it's just a bit, insane.

Its really going to hurt us defensively. Him and Lisandro are rocks at the back.

If we insert maguire back in, then who knows what will happen.

Hopefully Harry finds his form and confidence again and performs like he did when he first came.
If he is back after the world cup we will be fine. We haven’t really hard games before that.

Thanks! ETH doing really well with the lads.

I do think ETH might come for Brobbey this summer as that guy is clinical as feck. Keep it up and have faith in ETH, he's the one.

I think we're unfortunate to only come away with a draw. Dominated the first half and played about as well as Chelsea in the second. If it wasn't for some absolutely bone headed defending from McT we win. Very frustrating but the progress this team is making is undeniable.

Almost feels like a win and overall a fair result. Important goal a loss would have been devastating. Shame about Varane hopefully it's not that seriouseven though his reaction was not encouraging :(

Martinez was f... great. The stupid (and really not one) penalty and Casemiros heroics robbed the guy of a stone cold MOTM award. It would have been 0 0. Unfortunately his lack of height and the fact that he is probably going to be partnered with the very spineless Lindelof doesnt look good for us
