Terrible right from the start. The task for Amorim is enormous. Need to get the signings every summer spot on.

Bournemouth were simply better than us

Stupid set piece goal to concede again. Looked like a hangover from the euphoria of the City game.
Finishing by attacking players was poor.

Amorim was right we're in for some suffering

Malacia - not a PL player
Mainoo - not good enough for this formation
Bruno - Utd won’t win a PL with him
Martinez - not good enough for this formation
Zirkzee - not a PL player
Dalot - not good enough for this formation

Basically only Ugarte playing high level football.

Really like the way we build play and create chances. In open play we look really well structured. We desperately need players who want to attack a ball in the air, and unfortunately that’s a skill you can’t really coach.

We have players who are poor technically, slow and weak physically, and panic at the the first sign of trouble. I don’t think we’ve got a first 11 worth the shirt. So it’s not surprising we get beat by well drilled, physical teams the way we do.

People turning on Amorim already is laughable. And calling for a back 4. Like that will help, Ten Hag played a back 4, with the same players. There’s about 6 first team players I’d keep, and honestly I don’t think the rest are built for top level football.

Bad result, but that’s where we are, and anyone who thought this set of players were going to suddenly turn everything around once Ten Hag was gone hasn’t been paying attention.

Main flashpoint for me was Mazraoui’s idiotic tackle.

That and we need to stop being everybody’s favourite team to take set pieces against.

Oh well, it couldn’t last. We have a long way to go.

Hot take... Mainoo is overrated as a CM.. Would work as one of the 10s but his passing range as a CM is really really limited. No vertical passes and no switching sides.. We are a much better side with Ugare and either of Casemiro or Eriksen.

We’re fecking rancid! The squad needs completely overhauled yet again. The problem is we’ve squandered so much money in recent years it’s finally catching up with us and we can’t afford to revamp this squad as quick as we’d like due to FFP/PSR. This will take multiple windows and we need to find a club out there foolish enough to take this dross off our hands.

Must still put the trust in Amorim. He's brought Sporting all the way to league titles twice.

Strange game. I actually quite liked the lineup for starters and I wouldn't say it didn't work but I felt that Bournemouth was very well prepared for everything we would be trying. There were more into it, we lost most 50/50, played to sluggishly and gave dumb goals away. Don't think we were worse than in other games but against a prepared opponent that is outworking you, thats what you get. I find it a bit worrying that Amorim takes Ugarte off with 20minutes to go. Makes me question whether he really has a functional idea of how a functional midfield looked like. I positively acknowledge Bruno today, not because he was great but because he was fairly subpar for 50-60minutes but managed to step it up in the last third of the game. He was losing his head to a degree but managed to keep it together, kudos to him. Apart from it, the match showed nothing we didn't know already.

Main takeaway for me is the appaling fact, that we were outworked again...

Some criticism towards the manager is understandable, but calling him out already is just as shortsighted as it gets. I mean, it is mere weeks ago, that we have seen those players fail in a different system just as well. Because no system is so superior that it could outweigh that we have issues in terms of workrate and intensity AND that we seemingly have a really bad level of technicality on average. It is frustrating to see how many touches we use, while Bournemouth use one-touch in the 75th minute with 3 goals up...

Bournemouths press was absolutely exceptional, as good as if not better than any we've faced this year, only Liverpool come to mind as being of a similar level. Was really hard for the back 3 today, martinez in particular had a bad game I thought, the wing backs didn't get back to help enough for me.

Zirkzee was so poor in being the long outball, don't think he won a header all game but then to be fair I don't think anyone in red won a header or 2nd ball all game. We huffed and puffed second half and kept going to the end but generally speaking Bournemouth out worked us and deserved to be more conservative in the last 15 with the game won

Final third play was better and created a good number of chances but the finishing was awful

Disappointed as this was an opportunity to jump in the table today but this is where we are I suppose. Bournemouth are currently a better team than man utd

We actually have a good number of players who are not even Premier League level. When you look at how much we've spent on them it really shows how badly run we are.

Here we go again. It's the hope that kills you but when you accept we have so many bang average players who haven't a footballing brain between them, it all makes sense. Giving the ball away, stray passes, stupid tackles in the box, primary school shooting ability and a lack of heart.

Taking Ugarte off was a major howler by the boss, and that's on him. Sunday ruined.

We need to come to terms with how bad our squad truly is on an athletic level. We have ONE midfielder capable of playing 90 mins of PL football and he just joined the club. Our experienced defenders are slow and our young attackers are inconsistent.

Every single PL team is full of better athletes than us, their defenders are tall and fast, ST is tall, fast with good aerial ability and midfielders and wingers are fast and can actually dribble. Every. Single. Team. So when we face these teams the simple fact that they can run more then us has us at a disadvantage from the off. It is shocking how we have let this happen but it is where we are.

It will take a long time to get out of this mess. We need to be prepared for the journey.

System is fine ,the players in the system though are shite.
There are maybe 3/4players that we should look to keep.
Zirkzee and Malacia are not top level players.
My issue is whether this three at the back with wing backs system is our management structures chosen style or not.

There’s no point buying players to suit a system that gets dropped when the manager gets sacked. We need consistency. Not more dead wood when a new manager comes in and doesn’t play wing backs etc.

We didn't deserve to win, probably even deserved to lose, but 3-0 definitely flattered Bournemouth. They literally scored from all the chances they had while we missed whatever half chances we managed to create.
Agree with that. But then you could argue that’s all they needed so they stopped trying.

We really should have gone in level, poor finishing again costs us.

Well I did say that I was nervous about this game. Especially after a hard game on Thursday. It seems to me that we struggle after playing on Thursday.

But. That is not an excuse. We were very flat with no zip and every facet of our game was laboured.

By contrast Bournemouth are a very good side and played a really professional away game.

No Christmas present for us this year.

Can't even give me three points on my birthday these guys. Will be glad when most of them are no longer wearing the shirt.

I mean that was bad, but Bournemouth are a very good team. And it took Iraola months to get there, Amorin needs time as well.

This could have been posted any year for the last, what, 8 years, 10 years? And it has, including by me.
Yeah! But, I've never seen a bunch of useless, brainless and untalented players as these players.
Keep Hojlund, Yoro, Ugarte and Amad and let the rest go ...

I’m not sure where we go from here. Diallo still the only source of encouragement, though Maguire looked more comfortable than usual.
Mainoo and Maz had a shocker, I don’t see what Zirkzee brings to the team, what are his strengths
Resilience is still appallingly low.
The only North Star for this season is that Amorim might wrench out a better sum than the parts, via almost military-like training of the defence, and shitloads of shooting practice. Worst choice of strikers we’ve had since when - late 70s maybe?

We were the better team, the narrative won’t say that, but it’s true, we just cannot finish chances for shit. Our front line is nowhere near good enough. We need to prioritise a top striker.
A striker, a winger, another AM (moving Bruno deeper or Amad out wide).... Honestly getting a top level player at any of the attacking positions would really help this team. We're so wasteful with our chances.

I take no satisfaction in saying Amorim was just a Portuguese Ten Hag.

The performances have been at best what we saw under Ten Hag which did not give too much optimism unfortunately.

Annoying.

Conceding from a set piece again - free kick should never have been given, but we need to improve. Zirkzee way too weak in defending that.

Penalty was stupid. Maz seems like an intelligent player, so it felt out of character from him. Should have taken him out before he reached the box.

Despite this, we managed 19 shots - should have been much better in finishing - but at least there’s potential to improve. Garnacho was disappointing yes, but at least he got onto, and made chances.

Players need improving. Amad was marked out of the game - which will likely happen more. When that happens, others need to chip in.

Terrible right from the start. The task for Amorim is enormous. Need to get the signings every summer spot on.
But what half decent player in his right mind will want to sign for us? No doubt we'll offer top money for mediocre players on 3/4 year contracts and be stuck with them.

Lack of composure in front of goal was disappointing, felt ugarte should have stayed and maino subbed off. Frustrating result

Positives: Nobody was injured.
Negatives: Martinez - slow in defense,
Mainoo - loses the ball after every fecking dible
Fernandes - can't hit the barn door
Garnacho - same as Fernandes
Mazraoui - same but it i not his primary role, had a brainfart
Zirkzee - slow, like Werghorst minus the hold up play
Hojlund - can't win a fight against a defender, can't score
Rashford - same contribution as usually

The manager needs to have a settled XI now and start playing it every week. Enough of this silly chopping and changing to see which players are capable of playing in his so called system. Surely after more than a month and seeing these players, he’ll know by now who he rates and doesn’t rate

This may well get worse before it gets betters for you chaps.;
It's not going to get better. There is no way back for this club. We are clearly incapable of fixing our recruitment issues and now we don't even have the financial resources for yet another rebuild doomed to fail anyway.

United are stuck in footballing purgatory with no way out.
