Two amazing goals, pretty underwhelming performance but we had Darmian, Young, Lingard and Romero playing and no Ibra upfront.

I liked Zlatan telling everyone to stay calm after the goal. Because up until then we hadn't shown any composure and obviously Romero didn't get that particular memo. Smalling and Rojo were all over the place for the goal. Danny Graham? Bloody hell. Anyway we got through it without too much hassle.

Choppy, uncomfortable performance. Way too many loose passes and giveaways. Until Zlatan and Pogba came on I was concerned. They flipped the switch and we got the win, thankfully.

Well they got 5th and won the fa cup without both last season, so it was to be expected that those two should be the extra difference

In a freak season where Leicester won the league. We didnt relied on youths today but on seasoned players who should be making the difference. For that salary and hype they should trash this struggling championship side

Have you ever watched a domestic cup match before? It's never that simple, and that's hardly unique to this match, this team or our club.

There should have been enough quality to beat blackburn. Theres a reason why we havent been competing for quite some time. We are not good enough

We sometimes play as of we're trying to unlock Athletico Madrid rather than Blackburn.

I said at half time we should just go more direct like we did for the first goal. It took Pogba to drop a ball in behind the defenders though.

Sometime i wonder why we have so many internationals if they cant beat these minions without the help of the most expensive player in the world and our 36 year old striker

The midfield is the main reason for me. Without Pogba is just lacks any drive and magic. Carrick and Herrera can keep the ball, useful against a good team. Against a team that doesn't want the ball, that just needs breaking down, I don't think those two are a threat.

Then if a couple of the younger players have an off game like Martial did you end up with a pretty toothless team.

So much unnecessary passing today.

What do any of them have to do with "hype and salary"?

Dont you think that this team should be able to pluck Blackburn without the need of pogba and ibra? Whats the point in paying them the money we are paying them if they need the likes of ibra to bail them out against a struggling championship side?

I think the biggest issue is the dm role. We dont have one, shich lets the defense vilnerable and the midfield without structure

We also lack quality strength in depth. Most of the players we played today are simply not MUQ

I think most of them are good enough to be United squad players(probably not Darmian or Lingard), we just lack a variety of player in the middle. Maybe Pereira can mix that up next season.

But against a team like Blackburn you can't have two midfielders who just tap it about and depend on younger lads to give you a cutting edge.

Can someone explain why their last goal was offside? It clearly came off our player last. I thought it had to be touched by a team mate to be offside.

Pretty average display, bailed out as usual by Ibra. Darmian is so average, Lingard isn't good enough, Carrick I thought today was invisible, didn't step up and demand the ball as hes done in the past. Young is getting ready for the gluefactory sadly.
Most of all I'm continually disappointed with our front players yet again, Rashford, Martial, Lingard, Miki (to a lesser extent) are all so inconsistent, they should be chipping in with much more. Why? simply because they're all capeable of better.

Not sure about the "it's only Blackburn" mentality and we should be beating them comfortably. Blackburn raised their game, as expected, we struggled a bit, but got over the line. No need for knee jerk reactions about the lack of quality in our team.

We've had better days and it wasn't a dazzling performance but the same could be said about other Prem teams in this competition and past Utd teams which have struggled against lower league opposition in domestic cup games.

I'm convinced Darmian isn't a footballer and I'm also convinced he's the world's most useless man. If Jose asked all the players to tie their shoelaces, they all would...except for Darmian who'd have to phone his mum.

Herrera hasn't played well in months and I'm not sure Carrick has either. Carrick seems to have this thing where he plays well for about 2 games around the start of November, then is shit for the rest of the season but plays because he's "important"...what is he doing that's important? Stopping Felllaini from being selected as much?

Lingard tries very hard but e just looks like someone trying too hard.

Not sure what either Rojo or Smalling were doing all game either and Romero has something in his contract where at least once a game he has to try and concede a calamity goal...fortunately he's rubbish at actually doing it.

I wasn't impressed. A massive struggle against a team with Danny Graham in it, and who connceded two goals where neither of their two centrebacks thought it important to pick up the ONE attacking player in their half. Still...we won. We're getting good at doing that. One defeat in a very long time and that was in a league cup game where we won on aggregate anyway.

Well there you go. Everyone thinks we were shite. I just came in to say I thought we were grand. A few nice flashes, pretty much in control throughout, raised our game when we had to. Not quite sure what team everyone else has been watching in the last 3 years to be under the impression that we just turn up ANYWHERE anymore and canter to an easy victory. Job done, move on.

It was a rebound off keeper when the(two) player was already offside.

I can't tell you how tired I get of 'we' at certain occlusions of the moon.

Grey old day for the match. Great support from the away fans (and of course the home support). Tricky tie. Team did ok. Too much drivel on Caf. Night.

Struggling to pick MOTM for this game, not entirely bad but only good in patches.

Anyone think that Coyle walked into the dressing room and called his players a bunch of game raising cnuts after the match?

This team is just Ibra/Pogba dependent

it was built like that by Mou, so no surprise. But it's good Mou understands this dependence won't let us fight for something serious. Otherwise like in many cup matches there were 2 teams with different motivations.

Nothing much I can add to what's already been said I think. Largely underwhelming but job done. I think we're starting to see a winning mentality establish itself again, not so long ago this would have been a banana skin, especially after going 1 down early doors.

My two'penneth:

Romero is a top draw back up - Liverpool fans must look at our goalkeeping line up and just think WTF!!!!
Darmian is nowhere near the type of player we need in that position.
Rojo and Smalling as a CB pairing is the stuff to give you nightmares.
Young put his usual decent if not exactly world beating shift in.
Lingard is well short of the squad quality we need.
Martial needs to do more.
As does Rashford.
Hererra isn't exactly pulling trees up at the mo'
Miki had a frustrating day of sorts but showed hes the type of player who just has that little spark of magic.
Pogba showed exactly why he's going to establish himself as a world beater.
Ibra showed exactly why he is a world beater.

I know Chelsea away isn't exactly a favourable tie but its going to be a real test and barometer of where we really are as a team. Bring them on.

Bar the two excellent goal my favourite moment was Young picking the kid up who had run onto the pitch during Zlatan's goal celebration. Zlatan doing a team huddle after the goal was good to see, too.

Oh, and Carrick's passing. Especially his pass to Rashford in the 65th minute which really should've been an assist.

Take Costa & Hazard out of Chelsea and you could say the same.

We fielded a side filled with players whose got experience with both club and country. Man United have, in fact, the second highest salary bill in the EPL. Do you think that we should have been able to beat Blackburn without the need of Pogba and Ibra?
