In fairness, Chelsea away is bad, but we wouldn't have exactly been delighted with City, Arsenal or Tottenham away either!

Worst draw possible plus Spurs, Arse, Berties all kept apart.

Bugger. Worst tie possible of 14 possibilities. Chelsea best team in the country and someone we underachieve against generally.

No replays from the quarter finals onwards. It'll be hard keeping them out for 120 mins on their home turf. To be fair though, I'd rather go out earlier if we can't beat the big boys than go to the end and create a fixture pile up and then lose. Quietly optimistic.

You can't expect to win tournaments without playing good teams. Excited for the draw. Let's see where we are. Cup game, could go either way.

We won it last season with West Ham being the best team we faced. Arsenal will most likely make it to the semi finals having faced Preston, a U18's Soton and two non league sides.

Wait, is that a new thing?

Just remembered no replays now in the quarter finals, right? Gonna have to do it the hard way.

I was just disappointed as I thought especially after Rashfords goal we would of kicked on and not had to rely on Pogba and Ibra to get us out of the shit. Shows how poor some of the reserves are.

At home yes. At home we would have won 4-0 or thereabouts, but not away from home.

Its the same pattern in all our away games this season. We grind out wins.

Out of interest, what does Ibra have to do to show he is premiership class? I have been critical of him from time-to-time but to say he isn't PL class is a bold statement.
I didn't mean that as criticism of Zlatan. I meant to show how silly it was to say Rashford wasn't Prem level because of one poor touch.

Job done, it was an old fashioned grimy FA Cup tie against a team with nothing too lose in crappy conditions, and we did what we needed to do.

Sign a player based on 1 game? :nono:

Commentator said he's been impressing in the Championship and he's free, at the very minimum we'd make some money out of him. Looked pretty talented and unfazed when he came on, definitely should have started. Signing him on a free would be a shrewd move.

Good result but terrible draw. Apparently we've only won twice at Stamford Bridge in 15 years.

Fairly routine win, we were not really out of second gear. Blackburn deserve credit were plucky and were there until the last whistle, were slightly tougher than i'd thought they would be. They probably feel like they could of got another. But on the balance of it 1-2 was the right and fair result.

Good to see a few rested and still get to strech the legs. Think this is a good day in the office for us if there is no knocks or injuries. Well happy.

Chavs at the bridge next round. Bring it on!

Just one thing. I see that the media are picking up on Mourinho "applauding" the Blackburn goal, he's done that before and it was most likely more of a "come on lads!!".

Job done, not the best game obviously but most important thing was the win. Shame we got the hardest draw possible in the next round.

Nobody else find it strange that of all possible draw results every top team avoided each other bar us, the current holders.... some people still believe these draws are random

Excellent result rather than performance if that makes sense. Really important game and one of those where a LvG side and Moyes would have capitulated under the intense pressure Blackburn put us under and made me miss Ewood Park as it is a big ground with a nice atmosphere.

Lively game and we done well to get out of that. I hope we get a home fixture next!
