Arsenal 1:1 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Im so glad we won that shootout after Andy Madley had tried his hardest to win it for Arsenal.

Our reward is a home draw against Ruud's Leicester, Sir Jim will be rubbing his hands together

Absolutely fantastic display and such resilience, Maguire and De Ligt were magnificent, Ruben is the one, back him financially and we will go places .. also fvck Arsenal, the cheating, diving, time wasting, play acting and convict playing cvnts, always say they’re a club with morals and the truth is being brutally exposed, I’d honestly rather Liverpool win ten in a row than this cvnt of a manager and their fans win even one…I’m away to roll a massive doobie and revel in their anguish..

Huge kudos to our players in the face of one of the worst refreeing performances. I wouldn't dignify Madley by talking about his performance, but every Utd player gave his all, bar the brainless Dalot!

Games such as these can really tell you apart the character of the side and,on this instance, I will praise all of them including the subs that came on.

What an effort from all the players. The only player I can complain about is Hojlund and that's just because he seems to rarely win balls and hold up play. Even Garnacho contributed with a nice a assist.

I'm really surprised no one tried to take out Havertz after his dive. I would bet Amorim put the word out no retaliation because of the card situation.

Let's go Amorim!
Ugarte did to be fair. If there was VAR it would be clear red card (but there would be no penalty with VAR so that situation doesn't arise).

I loved Ugarte for that moment, where he went straight after Havertz for being a complete baby. (I have more choice words but respecting the forum rules here!!).

(For a few hours, all rules should be removed).

Amazing stuff from the lads that. The team finally showing the fight that fans have been crying out for. Go Amorim.

a) Great effort by the players. We need that EVERY week.

b) Happy for Zirkzee that he scored his pen, but I don’t think he’s good enough for this level of football.

c) feck off Arsenal

Delighted to wipe the smug grin off that a**hole arteta
100%

INEOS better give Amorim everything he needs. If our Portuguese genius can do THIS with scraps, can you imagine what he can do if he gets several players he is missing badly

Immense. Defenders and keeper kept us in it but Ugarte and Bruno were brilliant too.
Absolutely disgusting penalty decision. And no var, could’ve cost us.
Have to get the win against Southampton now to keep up the momentum.
Would love to get a couple players in this month but mightn’t be possible.

Zirkzee was much better than Hojlund and offers more atm, but I still think Hojlund has time to come good.

Zirkzee was better than Ramus when he came on today I thought. Did better holding the ball up.

Also shows good management from Rubin. If you are playing badly I will take you off the pitch. If you show you are ready I will put you on in the next game or when I think you are ready.

Zirkzee clearly didn't throw the toys out of the pram for being subbed and Amorim didn't write him off for a weak performance.

That was a proper United vs Arsenal performance. The PK win was a bonus. The way we fought through the game is the most pleasing aspect of this game.

Shows they are getting Ruben’s tactics at the back and with 10 men away to Arsenal it was magnificent. We need to improve holding the ball next and we definitely need a proven striker or two.

With Amorim we have had good results against teams like City, Liverpool and Arsenal. But can we create a game against Southampton? I am looking forward to that game to see, where we are in a game like that.

Zirkzee was much better than Hojlund and offers more atm, but I still think Hojlund has time to come good.

Neither are the required level, but at least Hojlund can finish when he gets a chance. Zirkzee’s shots are so weak. It’s frustrating to watch.

Sensational victory, so many big performances. Sets us up perfectly for the next run of fixtures.

Don’t want to get carried away too soon, but if we show that kind of commitment week in week out, we’re going to blow some teams away.

I don't think any of their players have been convicted of anything. I might be wrong.

Real guts and character. Get in!

How will Artera blame the referee for this one?

I meant after play resumed. You know, the next dribble by Havertz results in a hard tackle by someone not on a yellow. I just expected it and now pleased with the discipline and focus of the players.

A great win with ten men against 12 men - that's what it means to show character. Arsenal are the most hated team with the most arrogant fans and there is nothing more satisfying than leaving them trophyless again.

What a great evening in the end. Thought after red card and especially Gabriel's goal that we're out of the cup but they managed to keep it at 1-1 for another 70 minutes (if you count added minutes). Given some of refeering decisions they've totally deserved it as well.

Also felt odd how I expected from perhaps every of our 5 players to score penalty when it was their turn. That's not been the case often over the last 10 years or so.

Zirkzee was much better than Hojlund and offers more atm, but I still think Hojlund has time to come good.

To be fair, by the time Zirkzee was on the game was a lot more open, a lot more space to get on the ball. He did well though, spreads the play well and can link the play and pick decent passes. I just don’t feel confident with him in goal scoring situations. This will do him the world of good though.

Fecking perfection, can't fault a single player tonight. Also great to hate Arsenal again, the cheating, diving, gormless cnuts.
