PL W FA Premier League

Manchester United 3:2 Arsenal

Post-match discussion

These have been the most enjoyable few days of the season! Who'd have thought Marcus Rashford would be the key to that! Think I'll pop over to the Gooner forum for the rending of garments and nashing of teeth. What with Spurs winning today as well.

Excellent idea! I'm going over there right now.

I don't think we were under the cosh. We played like how we actually played against Arsenal under SAF. Sit back and then hit them with pace and precision. Loved the tactics and feel amazing that the players pulled it off with aplomb.
Yup, we were barely under pressure from them. Played it perfectly.

Wenger on Manchester United: "Let's not got overboard. They had a very experienced midfield and spent a lot of money."
:D

What the actual feck? It's like rewinding back to the times he used to whinge and whine against Fergie's teams

Winning this with kids make it special.Same old Arsenal:lol:

I have to ask this question? We have been very un Van Gaal like in recent games. Quicker tempo, forward passing, more one on ones, full back pushing higher etc....has the philospher ditched his merhods?
It's looking very Van Gaal like to me. Finally.

He's just gone back to him most primitive philosophy - trust the juice

What a fantastic week. It's been almost exactly a year, since the Spurs, Scouse, City games last year. Hopefully we're finally picking up where we left off last March.

It might be the result of circumstances outside LVG's control, but he's hit upon a pretty decent formula here. With Martial to come back in, this young team is looking quite special.

The first goal reminisced me of the United old days. A whipping cross WITH 4-5 players in the box.

I thought Michael Carrick was brilliant today. Yeah, the young lads were great, but he made some vital interceptions/tackles/passes.

On TV in the US the announcer stated Rooney scored his first EPL goal at 18 years and 120 days, and that Rashford scored his first EPL goal at 18 years and 120 days.

I hate to be negative but on another note I guess Mata gets the AM role till the rest of the season. Just another long list of mistakes from LvG that gets corrected with injuries. The whole Mata on the left just deprived our attack with pace. Add Rooney as striker and it was even worse. Not sure why LvG didn't see this as a problem long ago.

Can we send an industrial sized tub to the Emirates from RedCafe?

I really hope we lose to Leicester (unless we are in with a chance at the top4, which is unlikely)... spurs too

Arsenal and Wenger can go feck themselves.

Can't remember having been this happy during or after any game since before Moyes

On a more serious note...great win, nervy as hell, but a great, unexpected win.

However, and this is gonna probably be a very unpopular opinion...De Gea has sure let in some cheap goals this season.

I am so proud of the guys, especially the young lads. Most players were superb. I though Rashford and Varela werethe best players but good games from others - Memphis, Schneiderlin & Herrera.

I have got to be honest, I saw the team and I thought we were going to lose 1-3 and I'm shocked that we have won. A really good performances with all things considered.

We need to keep this same spirit and work ethic into our next games. They seem to be enjoying their football at the moment.

Cheers:
  • The kids are still alright
  • Herrera and Schneiderlin showed up on the big stage
  • LvG stole a place in our hearts
Jeers:
  • Set piece defending
  • Rojo hurt
  • Heartburn from the victory shots these girls talked me into taking.

Can't believe Arsenal played so bad. And well played United, winning against this over-hyped Arsenal literally playing with kids. Wenger should resign after such a performance. They were flat footed, no midfield and apart from Ozil they had no offensive outlet. United took full advantages of their mistakes, and that's what you need to do to win such games.

Probably my favourite game of the season. Really entertaining game with some great performances. Whatever happens to LVG in the summer, he will always be remembered for that moment!

Just need a few players back now and hopefully we can mount a strong challenge for the remaining trophies!
