Manchester United 3:2 Arsenal

Post-match discussion

Sun, 28 February 2016

A lot being made about our line up but the likes of Schweinsteiger, Rooney, Valencia, Jones, Fellaini, Darmian, frankly shouldn't be in the team anyway the way they've played this season.Shaw, Smalling and Martial the only injuries of any great significance. Credit to van Gaal for starting Rashford though.

Glorious performance

The younger lot keeping the ball and toying with Arse in the last ten minutes was amazing! I reckon the older lot would have crumbled against the pressure

What a game, what a day, what a week.

Best I've felt about United since Fergie retired. Let me savour this feeling.

Dont even know where to start ,i mean Arsenal really how on earth can you bottle this much. This match had everything, cant stop smiling Get in! GGMU

It really felt like the real United, not just today but midweek too, the passion, desire and style of our play. There is so many things to mention about today's game but will just say how pleasing it was and I hope we keep it up.

We ditched "the philosophy" and played with heart. We won.

FECK. YES.

Under the cosh for a lot of that, and understandably looked a bit shite defensively. But so many positives, most of all Rashford... Currently it's really difficult to hate Louis
I don't think we were under the cosh. We played like how we actually played against Arsenal under SAF. Sit back and then hit them with pace and precision. Loved the tactics and feel amazing that the players pulled it off with aplomb.

Wenger has some cheek saying we committed a lot of fouls to stop their game. I would wager that Arsenal were given 3 or 4 free kicks for every actual foul we conceded today.

The hot head in me is a bit upset that Louis didn't take that opportunity to call out the referees performance but my professional head admires him for it.

What a great day.

He'll be so fecked off that it's United youngsters who have taken apart his best 11.

Not supposed to be the narrative.
The narrative should be that they keep coming to Old Trafford just to get dicked. If they have a lot of injuries, we trash them, if we can barely get a first XI out, we still beat them.

And another..

This week reminded me just how much I hate Arsenal. Spurs/Leicester title win would be delicious.

Ref was shit, our defending was shit, Arsenal were shit on a stick and we've got Marcus Rashford :devil::devil:

And did anyone catch SAF singing along with the fans after the final whistle. Fantastic moment.

That was a great win. So proud of the young ones.Rashford,Varela,Fosu Mensah all were excellent.

Must admit I was surprised - competely believed we would lose that game.

Hell all of that changed with rashford taking us to the brink.

Like I said in mid week, this really is the united way, going for it & giving youth a big opportunity. Rashford & others have taken the opportunity to make a significant contribution to team cause.

These have been the most enjoyable few days of the season! Who'd have thought Marcus Rashford would be the key to that! Think I'll pop over to the Gooner forum for the rending of garments and nashing of teeth. What with Spurs winning today as well.

Had every right to lose in a big way but everyone put in a hard-working, disciplined performance. Great effort, which is usually the case in the big matches. Need to maintain it against the lesser teams
