Football is best played through taking players on and not possession. Our players suddenly look great on 1 on 1s and that has transformed us

Absolutely buzzing, incredible match, incredible result. Celebrated those goals like I haven't done in ages.
Everyone deserves massive credit for that; we played a very different type of football to what we've mostly done under LVG, and all the players did what they needed to do to make it work. A few defensive mistakes, two of which led to their goals, but when you look at our back 4 what's amazing is there weren't loads more.

Can anybody PM me a video with post match show from sky if anybody has it? I suprisingly noticed that they don't post post match videos anymore on the page I used to watch them.

Anyone notice Ramsey's hilarious marking/defending for our 3rd goal? He runs back to defend, but for some reason, runs to the right side of the box... which means he's marking/doing absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, Herrera steams into a gigantic gap that Ramsay could possibly have been filling had he decided he wanted to do something remotely useful.

Great fighting spirit. Played with more freedom. The narrowed options to select a side have really helped us. The youngsters are changing the psychological atmosphere. Memphis is among the elders now. The dynamic in the team is shifting and the players look more up for it, enjoying it and coming together.

Not sure if its happenstance or if LVG has managed to himself somehow lift these players up.

And playing without an actual center back.

Think it's time to do a little shoutout to my man Gabriel Paulista, for putting in what in my humble opinion was a truly terrible and genuinely uninspiring centre half performance.

Maybe it's just me, but from how I saw it he started the match so poorly that he actually had me laughing out loud for how helpless he was, been a long time since that happened. Both Carrick and Blind were quite literally thrice the centre back Gabriel was today, and I just wanted to say I really enjoyed that.

One of them mention something about how Arsenal were supposed to show a reaction after the Barcelona loss. Spot on.

Compare how Arsenal reacted to the Barca loss to how Keane's 2003 United reacted to losing at Madrid in the first leg of the CL knockout phase back in 2003. United went to St James' Park and whacked Newcastle 6-2. Arsenal lost to an injury ravaged United with an insipid performance.

So proud of the team, especially the youngsters today. They didn't want to be outdone by each other. I hope LVG keeps up whatever he did today. Even getting "emotional" with his flop was entertaining and endeared himself a little more to the fans.

As an #LVGOUT supporter, if this week is what he wants to continue giving us, I don't give a feck if we don't finish 4th. I enjoyed the style of play so much, that's what I want to watch on Sundays.

I didn't even realize Walcott played. WTF? I don't think I heard his name the entire first half.

Oh yea, the 85th minute on when the kids, led by Memphis, were having fun with the Arsenal defence in effort to keep the ball  Loved it.

just watched the game (late, I know) - arsenal looked throughly average unlike several months back when they gave us a hiding, especially for a team that's supposed to be title contenders.

that said elated for rashford, scoring a brace against arsenal on pl debut at the age of 18 must be dream come true. memphis looked pretty good as well.

Still up and buzzing from it, lunatic day and I wasn't even there. There's nothing like the kids smashing everyone and playing beautifully while they're at it.

Was watching the highlights..
For the first goal, Herrera has the ball, both Lingard and Mata are in front of him, facing him and asking for the ball.
The moment Herrera plays it out wide, way before it reaches anywhere near Varela, both Lingard and Mata spin and start running towards the goal.

That was so great. We dont do that enough.

Breaking News:
Cops were seen at OT last night as Gunner fans reported to the authorities that there was some under-age sex being allowed at OT, after their first team were fecked by a bunch of barely legal kids.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Magnificent start to the week.
I thought we would win and went for 2-1 but expected a closer game. I never expected style and class featuring as prominently as they did - Depay's Magic, Rashford's goals, Ander's energy and Mata's class - were just a few of the high points. Welbeck was kicking Rojo out of frustration and other Groaners were as bad. Wenger knew they were not responding but folding to our arrogance - imagine that after the Stoke game just a few months ago! Having watched the Scouses against the Bitters I have a warm feeling - for the first time in three years!

Enjoyed that a lot.

It sounds daft but it's looked for ages llike we'd be a better team if we just played more players who actually enjoyed playing football rather than making it look like a massive chore...and stick a few kids in the teamm and look what happens. Suddenly the whole team looks enthusiastic.

Thought Rashford, Mata, Depay and Herrera were excellent. Blind was very good...when Carrick attempts to play at centreback the only real positive is it shows you how much worse Blind could be doing.

Only player I was annoyed with at all was Schneiderlin, because his defensive work for both goals was completely unacceptable. The second one he literally just gave up as soon as he lost the ball...I don't know who he thinks he is. It's the sort of thing you'd expect from someone like Ronaldo, and even then it'd still be annoying.

There was something about Mensah as well. He somehow looks really cocky/assured already. I thought he actually made us better when he came on...well apart from the bit where he ran 20 yards the wrong way up the pitch and then tried to play Arsenal through on goal.

Arsenal were pathetic, even for them. They looked like a bunch of spoilt children. The last 10 minutes it looked more like United were about 5 goals up than just 1, because Arsenal were more interested in being moody and feeling sorry for themselves than trying to score. For all the problems we've had this year Im still glad we don't have characters like Ramsey in our team.

What a great week. I'm not getting carried away, and I'm no kidding myself that LVG is suddenly a footballing genius who's performing miracles, but....... Its absolutely fantastic that United have put a smile back on our faces again. Its always two steps forward, one back under LVG so it might not last, but hey ho, I'm certainly enjoying the buzz while it lasts

We've experienced two of the most satisfying things in football this week - a local lad coming through (several in fact) and a big money signing showing his worth - Rashford and Memphis take your bows (and keep up the excellent work please!)

How sweet, to beat Arsene & co with kids :)

Diabolical refereeing by Mike Dean, awfully inconsistent & it's naivety totally favoured Arsenal who (As we know) are adept at playing refs. It's odd that the focus is on LvGs dive and not so much questions as to why a manager who hasn't ever got off the bench, suddenly gets up & actually throws himself down to illustrate that the refs getting played!!

So, yeah, even sweet to beat a 12-man Arsenal! :)

I have to ask this question? We have been very un Van Gaal like in recent games. Quicker tempo, forward passing, more one on ones, full back pushing higher etc....has the philospher ditched his merhods?

I think it might be down to the fact that the team he's picked in other games hasn't been capable of playing at a faster tempo. Fellaini isn't good enough, Rooney slows it down etc..

Probably one of the most enjoyable and entertaining league games I've watched in a long while.

Rashford, Varella, Herrera and Memphis the stand out players. But we just looked so cohesive and exciting on the break, we really did play some great stuff going forward at times. Switching the play well, using width, running at and taking on the Arsenal defense.

It makes it even more enjoyable and exciting when there were so many young/inexperienced players out there, who just didn't seem phased at all by the occasion.

Sure, Arsenal bottled it, and we looked a bit shaky at the back, but that is a huge three points and capped off a brilliant week for us.

Great bit from Amy Lawrence

This season for United may not go down as one of the greats but it has had its unforgettable moments. Old Trafford has enjoyed – more than once now – the shock of the new as a youthful talent blooms in front of their eyes. On a September evening, on his Premier League debut, Anthony Martial inspired a massed gasp of amazement to score an electrically charged goal, against Liverpool, by way of introduction. That was emulated here by Rashford, the 18‑year‑old rookie who stunned Arsenal in his maiden Premier League appearance.

Every time he surged forwards, full of speed, bristling with enthusiasm and intent, a sense of panic coursed through the visiting defence. Rashford left them in a blur. Disorientated. And ultimately, badly defeated.

Mike Dean was the 4th official not the referee.

The moment when Rashford scored (in particular the second) was probably the best moment of the season alongside Martial vs Liverpool. I was in the pub in complete disbelief.

Whenever I watch United no matter how bad our form is I always suspect we can win however before this game I was convinced we wouldn't win. It was a sweet victory

This game illustrates why rival fans call us bottlers or chokers. Can't believe that this lot beat United 3-0 and Bayern Munich 2-0, then went on to lose 4-0 to Southampton, 3-2 to United and conceded that god-awful 90th minute equaliser at Anfield. The choke's upon us indeed.
