I've just bought a load of singles I need for the Legendary Treasures set, I'm now 12 cards away from completion, well 14 if I include the two gold secret rares but they're about £40 each. Most of the 12 are EX cards but the singles were too expensive from where I got them from and I think I'll fare better on Ebay or something. I have SO many swaps from this set but now its a few years old no one is really interested.
Post some pics when you get them out! I'm deciding which set to get a box from, maybe breakpoint as I already have a few from that. Out of interest where do you stand on reverse holos when trying to complete a set? Ive realised in my Legendary Treasures I have a few reverse holo versions of holo cards, apparently these are rarer than the normal holo but I don't think they look as good which is a bummer!

I find it a bit strange but I think the Mega Rayquaza EX is in both Roaring Skies and Ancient Origins. Good card. Competitive as well. Might mean AO holds value, though Roaring Skies is very sought after due to having the Shaymin EX as well.
From looking on ebay, people are referring to a 'Master Set' which looks to be all Commons, Uncommons and Rare Non Holos in a set, in normal AND Reverse Holo form, plus all EX and Secret Rares.
I will consider my sets complete when I have every numbered card from the set. I'll have at least 36 Reverse Holos from each box to accompany the set but I ŵont go on to try and collect every one, it would take enormous effort, time and cost. Some of my Rares are in Non-Holo and Reverse Holo only, missing the full Holo card, but I'm not too worried about that.
I bought two boxes on Impulse and if I can think of a way to weigh them before they get here I might give it a go. I'd hate to do 72 packs and have a million duplicates. But, that said, if I got lucky and pulled a couple of Secret Rares and cards like the Giratina Full Art etc the boxes could easily pay for themselves in single re-sales if I decided not to try complete the set.
In all likelihood, I could spend Saturday morning opening 72 packs, I'll see how the first box goes. I know for a fact if it's anything short of the most amazing box of all time I'll be opening the second ha
Do good competitive cards drive booster and box prices as opposed to just the singles? Interesting. Now ive had 4 boxes off this guy I feel like I'm soon to be in a position where I can get some good info on his source and what else he can get!
My plan here is to spend around £120 completing a set and selling it for a small profit and starting another one. I don't think I'll retain any of the sets for very long once completed...if only to fuel my booster opening addiction. Good news is, at the price im paying for boxes, im not spending much of my own money...in theory..
Christ how do people have the will power to get all the reverse holos too, that's mad. Ah well, so long as I have one of every card number I'll be happy! Next I'll have to start thinking about what booster box to get.

Yep! If there's potentially a good card in the box then it'll be worth more. Roaring Skies is only about 14 months old but the only box on eBay is £180 Best Offer due to the Shaymin EX basically being a staple card in most decks. Also has the Mega Rayquaza EX and Rayquaza EX - Ancient Origins should be worth a little bit more than £85 for a box tbh, so getting them at the price we have is great.
Another strong box would be Furious Fists due to Seismitoad EX, and Flash Fire is decent too. However, the TCG goes through rotation every September, wherein somewhere between four and eight (usually) of the currently legal sets are made illegal for standard tournament play. So, the competitive game will lose at least XY, Flash Fire, Furious Fists, and Phantom Forces. I don't know how this will effect the boxes as on one hand conpetitve players won't want them, but they'll be 100% out of print so collectors will etc.
I've just counted the other sets up to the oldest legal eight and it includes Break Through but not Break Point.. I don't think they'd keep one and not the other legal, so players will lose either just the four I mentioned, or Primal Clash, Roaring Skies, and Ancient Origins as well.

Nah it's this Darkrai from Legendary Treasures...
I've found somewhere doing it for a fiver online though so might just do it, I have 7 or 8 other EX to get from that set too. There's a Mew EX full art from it too, the other full arts you can get for about £3 each but the Mew is nearing £10 each because it was popular to actually play with. But it's not even in rotation anymore so kinda annoying it's still expensive!
But thanks for that offer anyway, if I try to complete breakpoint I might come back to you! Now I have the secret rare it is tempting to try do the whole set!

Bastards don't tempt me, some of those EX cards look so good. I like some of the secret rare trainers though! My full art Az trainer card is one of my favourites (not a secret rare though).
I need Giovanni's Scheme and Skyla Full Art's for completing my set but I'm missing Full Art Gyarados EX and the Mega version plus Mega Mewtwo EX Full Art, so I'll grab them before the trainers.
The card set and art really does look good for Ancient Origins though, can't wait. Hoping to complete and sell these sets in time for buying a couple of boxes of Steam Siege and Fates Collide!
I like that Skyla full art! I'm gonna get a couple of boxes of something, but deciding what at the moment, I've got a fair bit of breakpoint so might try crack that out alongside picking up singles to finish Legendary Treausres.

Ffs there's a guy selling 2 EX cards I need on EBay and has a few more I need to go up soon he said. He lives 5 miles from me and is charging £1.50 postage after the auction finishes. I messaged saying if you want I'll just drive over and give you a bunch of cash and buy them all in one go and he said no. Not like they're even massively valuable cards!

£21 each (Japanese). Opened Ancient Origins too and got Primal Kyyogre, Full art Entei, Sceptile EX and some other shithouse EX's. Also got mega Alakazam EX before.
