Is it cheating to trade yourself starters these days?

Got myself Pokemon X yesterday. No idea what its like - friend code is 3668-8870-7730

One question regarding Pokemon Black. I beat Ghetsis, so is the game over? Is the area to the right with like 4 cities and a few roads only for Pokemon Black2/White2?

Anyone ever tried the hacks? I'm currently playing Liquid Crystal on my iPad. It's a remake of Crystal with GBA graphics etc and it's good fun. Feraligatr, Alakazam and Arcanine are tearing shit up.

I've played a horseload of them, some are quite fantastic, Snakewood begins fantastic, but kinda gets fecked towards the end.

There was one I played that was only starting, and never god far, sadly, where you played as a Rocket, starting with a Ratatta, stealing pokemon and doing usual Rocket stuff. Got items for the HM's too. A machete for cut, and such.

I got a weird question to ask.

I've not played it for around a month and wanted to get back, I was in the Glittering Cave. What I don't remember is if I beat all Team Flare members and thus completed this part of the game. I know I have to travel to Cyllage City now and I left the cave but I'm not sure if I've done all I had to in there. Is there any way to find out? What if I omitted one of Team Flare members, will I know because I can't enter another part of the story or do I not have to do it all anyway and could well progress with the story?

I think I've beaten all of them but I honestly don't remember it with absolute certainty.

Oh, ok, so as long as I manage to get to Cyllage City it means I'm good to go?

Is there any point in the battle mansion you unlock after defeating the game? I've done about 8 battles, winning all of them with ease, and nothing seems to have come from it.

It's the most 'competitive' thing in the game other than battling online against other trainers. You need to do 20 straight wins on the regular version to unlock the 'Super' Mode for each kind of battle. All of the Pokémon in there will have perfect 'IVs' and the 'EVs' in the right stats to make them as strong as possible, the main aim is to defeat all the Leaders for each section, which in the Super Mode appear after 50 wins in a row. The Battle Points are good for getting competitive Items and certain useful TMs. You also get trophies that are displayed in the Maison's hall when you reach the 50 wins for each one.

Other than that, it's just about seeing how long you can keep your streak going. I know a Canadian player who's always looking to build teams that can go on massive streaks, his best in X & Y so far is over 1000! I haven't gotten around to much yet, I've just unlocked the Super Modes in Singles and Doubles, but the best I've managed is about 30~ on Doubles before I lost. I plan on building a team to do these soon.

You also get the 'achievements' for these. If you've used Game Sync to connect your game to your Trainer Club Account and PGL Account, you'll be able to see which achievements you've done in the game. This is another thing to aim for as there's at least 255 achievements to try and get.

Edit: Oh! There's also two kinds of Berries you get for getting to 100 and 200 wins respectively in any of the five Super formats. Only way to get these Berries so far as we can't send over Items from previous games.

Lastly, remember PokéBank is out on the 27th of this month on the Nintendo eShop. For anyone unaware, it allows you to store up to 3,000 Pokémon on a cloud service and costs £4.49 a year - youget a 30-day free trial though! So can easily abuse it without paying anything. Once you download the Bank, you get access to the Transporter App as well, which will let you send over anything you want from your Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, or White 2 versions to the cloud, and thus to X & Y as well (this is a one-way service, so you can't send them back to your DS versions once they're in the cloud or on X/Y). Even though the service only works with X, Y, Black, White, Black 2, and White 2, it still means you can send Pokémon over from as far back as Ruby and Sapphire (Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Pokémon Colosseum, XD: Gale of Darkness) if you transfer them to your Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver and then to Black/White/Black2/White2. It's also anticipated that this service will work for all future Pokémon titles, so we'll always be able to cloud things from this Generation onwards.

If you don't plan on using PokéBank, at least download it along with the transporter to transfer all of your old Pokémon across and obtain Celebi. Then you're free to cut it and not use it any more after you've abused it :P

Was looking to add some friend codes for the friend safari. Haven't a clue what 3 pokemon my friend code will yield, but if anyone wants to give it a go it's: 5112-3555-4407

Added. Mine's in the OP. I've also added the others in the OP, but I've only got Snowjoe's Friend Safari at the moment.

Sorry, I'm such an idiot. My friend code is actually: 2938-7104-8232. I've just added yours.

The one I gave you was my mates. Doh.

Apologies Maestro! I haven't added you back yet as i haven't been on my 3DS for a while! I'll try and make sure i do it next time i get on it though!

I'm going to be playing Pokemon X more over the holidays, only really just started it at the moment. Picked myself up a Fennikin and Fledgling. My friend code is 3668-8870-7730

 Fledgling gaaaay. Pidgey is best

I don't have a clue what other choices there are at the moment! Picked myself up a Weedle (love getting an early Beedrill/Butterfree) and that grass monkey thing you can get in Santalune Forest.

I don't understand why they make the starters know an elemental move straight off the bat though, it's made Fennikin so powerful

Actually, Fledgling is by fat the better creature, and Fletchinder competitively viable(enough that teams now specifically have to plan for it), unlike Pidgeot.

Never.

I don't know about any of the new Pokemon so I just knockabout with the old ones, the only new Pokemon I have is my starter. The rest of my team is Haunter, Pidgeot, Pikachu, Lapras and Charizard.

That's fine. I only added the FCs in the OP a few days ago even though I said I'd add them a while back. I only found out recently how useful they are for breeding pokemon with good IVs and I'm trying to do that with Axew.

Out of curiosity, what did my Friend Safari bring you Maestro? Yours gave me a nice Lampent that I look forward to evolving, and a Phantump. Don't think the third slot is available until we both make an appearance online together (think that's how it works?)
