I'd get demolished in competitive play!

Also I need this sticker, to take pride of place on my guitar.....

Yeah I'm not a massive fan of them, I only train butterfrees as you get them early on and the stunspore/sleep powder is useful for catching other pokemon.

Plus defensively they are dire, carrying weaknesses to some of the most common types, and so often being bug/flying gives them a huge weakness to rock which almost all normal types can carry a move of too. I think only the Bug/Steel ones are any use at all.

Sometimes I feel bad because I show absolutely no mercy to bug Pokemon and will purposely switch to a fire Pokemon to make their demise that much more painful and quicker.

I'm onto the fourth Gym Leader and I still haven't found a Pokemon I actually want to give Cut to that I would keep in my party.

Anyone who trains bug Pokemon bar Butterfree is a dick, sorry.
feck you and all associated with you.

Mothim, Yanmega and Vivillion are fair game too.

Love you really, probably.

Well, they're for the most part designed specifically as early game beasts, which they are.

Outside of bug/steel, you really need power sweepers like Heracross or Volcarona who'll kill first.

Starting a new game in Platinum to go catch some shit ready for the Pokemon Bank. I'm gonna catch so many bug pokemon and call them That'sHernandez.

 It'll be on White 2 now, my Platinum is dodgy :/

MaybeChicharito

Breeding for a shiny Tyrunt, got a feeling after the Druddigon being so quick this will be a long haul.

I still haven't got my arse in gear and walked up the rest of the road to take on the Elite Four. Been distracted from it with other stuff :(

It's a sad time that comes in every Butterfrees career. They just can't take the punches that come later in the game.

Yeah, I'm thinking about getting the Haunter I caught out or maybe bringing Lucario or Blaziken back into the fold. The thing is I don't like the latter two Pokemon. I'm thinking about retiring Pikachu as well unfortunately. It's not fair, I like too many Pokemon.

Tbh, in game, any pokemon should be strong enough, but you have to be strict on using your advantages. Most of them early bugs are meant to be early game powerhouses until you evolve your starter and co.

It's a shame though, Compound Eyes and base SpAtt & Spd of 90 is quite good, but if they don't kill their targets they're mashed. Still, a late on Galvantula with Compound Eyes, Bug Buzz, Thunder Wave, Thunder and Energy Ball is a neat replacement.

Yeah I didn't really fancy using it to be honest, in fact I rarely like any of the cover legendaries, I much prefer using pokemon I've brought up from a low level.

I haven't used any Legendary since Groudon & Jirachi*, which I only used on my first run through Ruby, before that I have used Lugia(Aeroblast:drool:), Mew and Articuno, up until this gen, I used Yvetal, just because of how immense the Oblivion Wing animation is.

Never properly trained that Jirachi, wouldn't mind another punt at that one.

*EDIT: Mind that was on the one save, I've cut through Gen III games 20-25 times now.

I think I'm going to axe it from my party.

What sort of party would you guys recommend? When did you say Cyndaquil was going to be added to the game?

Right now my party is Charizard, Chesnaught, Pidgeot, Pikachu, Lapras, Xerneas. I'm thinking about dropping Pikachu for Lucario and Xerneas for Haunter. The latter is probably a definite, I don't particularly like Lucario.

Something with Fairy moves would be useful for the elite 4 to take out the Dragon trainer in a doddle. The other are Fire Steel and Water which you have Super Effective pokemon against. The Champion then isn't too bad so long as you send in the right Pokemon at the right time.

Also I need to stop trying to breed shiny pokemon with the longest egg cycles to hatch.

Kelfki would be an excellent choice, if he likes the keychain pokemon, or Sylveon is an utter beast.
