Gaming Pokémon Strumfest

Found my favourite new way to catch Dittos, put in a Roggenrolla for it to transform into, then you can use a 1HKO Super Effective move on rock but because of it's Sturdy ability you leave it on 1HP. Easy as pie.

So if I were to catch a Abra and a Drowzee, I should persevere with Abra?

EQ, in heartgold, how good is drowzee?

I always find him a bitch to kill if you don't have something super effective against him. But like EQ says, he never scares me when he attacks. Where are you up to in HG Art? I've got SS and am at the start of Ice Path.

What would anyone recommend to add to this team for the Elite 4? (Presume they're all decently leveled) Togetic, Gyarados, Typhlosion, Pigeot, Graveller, Weepinbell (Can't level the last two because I can't trade, my router is incompatible with the DS for some reason)

It depends really, Abra and Kadabra can't take physical hits at all, but they should be hitting first every time. If you don't mind them being glass cannons, Kadabra has close to double the Special Attack that Hypno has.

If you do mind, Hypno isn't bad, but shouldn't be used on similar level evolved pokemon unless you have an attack with a type advantage.

Bradders, I've just started. Training my ass off to rape Whitney's Miltank. Got a gastly level 20, Quilava level 22, Slowbro level 15 just caught a Drowzee 12 and am searching for an Abra.

Thanks EQ. Will keep that in mind.

Weepinbell evolves by Grass Stone, you should be able to get one in game.

Good team though. A dragon would be nice, but you'll be facing the Elite 4 at a low enough level that it'd be hard to evolve one.

Perhaps swap Graveller for a Piloswine from the Ice Path? I know it wasn't in the original Gold, but you should still be able to evolve to it's third stage, easy enough too, level it up while it knows Ancient Power.

feck that cow man. It's been an arse to me in the past, but this time I got off a bit lightly - I used a Geodude and it didn't use Rollout once against me. Must be a glitch?

Just caught an Abra first time with my Mean looking Gastly. feck yeah.

Ah really? I thought it had to be traded. Pleased about that though, Weepinbell seemed a bit weak to me! Gyarados knows Dragon Rage but yeah its not a proper Dragon type. I'll search around for one as I could do with a proper Ice type.

You really are the resident Pokexpert here!

Rollout is ineffective against Geodude, weak to both Rock and Ground, IIRC, so it makes sense if she didn't use it.

Been addicted to the bloody things with a generation now.

Yeah but it's still damn frightening by the 4th or 5th move. Otherwise it was just a case of me Rock Throw-ing it until I got lucky and she didn't use a Super Potion. I thought the same, just struck me a big unusual

Aye, it would have done a lot of damage in the late rounds, but the AI would think that Stomp and such were more effective.

Don't bother with geodude, you'll get raped by rollout. Stick with Gastly, confuse ray, curse and find a way to poison it and you're gold.

Mr. Elmo said this to me and I decided to not catch a geodude for Whitney :(

Just sounds like a load of Pokemon birds doing wanking pornos.

I'm going to assume Earthquake is named after the Pokemon move, the man knows everything!
I have absolutely no recollection of why I chose this name. I don't think there was any special connection to anything.
Professor Oak, is that you?
Nah man he sucked, had to get children to do his job. Entire lifes work, a blank pokedex.

There's a bunch of ways to get around her, really. I think I said it at that time, but I always preferred Nidorans, especially if I can snag a Moon Stone before the Gym fight. Poison Point and Double Kick is vicious.

If you can get Miltank set on fire, you're golden too, as that'll cut attack as well as damage.

Alternatively, just get something and hammer it's accuracy to pieces. There's no way it'll get into the danger regions of Rollout without missing.

 Who actually catches a Magikarp for any other reason than catching them all? It's one of the most useless Pokemon ever.

I asked because I remember Gyarados being really ridiculous in gen 1 (and I trained it from a Magikarp, didnt even know it was possible to buy it straight up) and if it was still that good then maybe it would be worth to train a Magikarp into Gyarados. But I got my answer, no point training it.

I need to get my hands on a moonstone. Where can one find said moonstone?

Everyone should.

This guy surely did

All these starting pokemon look gay, what should I pick? Who ends up being the most badass?

It's final form looks too gay, Chesnaught looks pretty awesome so grass it is. I don't really like grass pokemon though.
