Pogba's says his future is at United and has many years on contract

Here's the full quote, from Lequipe:

And in these quotes, he doesn't say in the near future, he actually says : "I have a contract, at this moment i play there, but who knows what will happen in the next months".
Watch the video interview. He doesn't even say what you have quoted in French. I can only presume L'Equipe have re-translated back into French the appallingly translated quotes.

It's come to a stage for myself where I feel Pogba has not reached his potential at Man Utd or whatever the expectations that I had for him at this club.

If he feels this strongly about Jose and whatever then he should leave because if that's what he's giving the club at 100% it's not good enough.

There's nothing to prove Raiola is no longer his agent tbh unless I missed something.

This is quite the mystery for everyone. Some think he's signed with Jay Z exclusively, some think it's just for commercial deals. Basically, there hasn't been anything conclusive and I assume if he had actually left the bastard there would have been at least one report about it.

I think what we need is a real captain to keep our divas in check and lead by example. Valencia is never going to be the player who gives Pogba a dressing down for acting like a spoilt toddler on the pitch waving his hands around instead of chasing the ball he lost.

I think Maguire could turn into that if we get him in 'the near future'.

Pogba didn't even know Maguire lmao

The more accurate translation would be:"Today my future is with Manchester, I still have many years in my contract".

He also doesn't say "no matter which coach" he only says that he will always give everything for the club, then the journalist try to make him say something about his relationship with Mourinho which he dodges by saying that is future is with Manchester.

I'm legitimately pissed off with this now. Journos and papers that should know so much better are attributing quite poor and damaging translations to Pogba to try and rile fans up. They've got them hook, line and sinker. If you go to the German website with a VPN, you can watch the whole interview, but it's mostly dubbed into German with the French muffled. The bits of the German and French you can compare are very loosely translated. People have then attributed the German or English translations of the German to Pogba. The weird thing is that people don't even seem to care what the truth is and will just believe whatever fits their prior narrative. I fecking hate this aspect of the Internet.

Quite disappointed with people and the lack of support for players, especially the hypocrisy of wanting unconditional loyalty from players to the club, but are only too happy to chastise a player at any perceived failing.

Let's not even get on to the sense of entitlement. You want star players nowadays? You might have to deal with some baggage and fight to keep them. You're not going to have a batch of world class players in GM every couple of years, who'd never dream of leaving these shores and would just embarrass themselves if they ever did.

Pogba + £120m for Mbappe? Yeah feck it why not.

There we have it.

Some people really have it out for Pogba. I cannot fathom who would replace him in our midfield. People keep thinking United are better off without him and there is no reason to think that. Even if he's not lived up to the hype, it's a fact that he's our best chance creator. If other players in our midfield were sold for the same price, you would then see how much better he is than our players. The price is irrelevant. Judge him solely on his actual performances, not on whether he has lived up to the hype. From this angle it would be foolish to suggest selling him.

I mean if we're taking this horrible start to the season, he's been one of our better players which puts into perspective how awful the other players have been in reality. There is no bright spot who has performed well in every match apart from maybe Shaw.

Tbh we easily can. Maybe not in a 433, but he is the only reason we are even playing the formation in the first place. We could easily sell him and Martial and use them to get a right winger, attacking midfielder and centre back. Fred could sit in midfield with matic with pereira herrera and fellaini as back ups. While we sign any top attacking midfielder we can find. Its that simple. Even if we wanted to play a 433, we could just replace pogba with another box to box midfielder to compliment fred and matic. We may lose a touch of creativity through the middle, but the attacking midfielder could offer us goals and maybe even chances created, while we would be more defensively secure and press better.
I love the guy, but its getting to a point where these speculations and infighting is getting annoying. We are without doubt one of the top two biggest clubs in the world, if he doesn't want to be with us, there are many others who do.

It's not a big problem imo since I actually don't think many top clubs will be interested in paying more than what we did for Rom so he's not going anywhere. He's not very marketable and has his flaws that other top clubs will probably not like. Pogba is the opposite so the fat agent is milking him to no end.

Amen, brother. Wholeheartedly agreed with this.

Just looking for a contract re-evaluation. Everyone does that.

To be fair to him, he's our commercial spearhead now and he's bringing in the dough. Probably a dream to deal with when it comes to Adidas since our commercial interests align. Sometimes, there's also quite a football player in there.

Oh just piss off. You should feel proud to represent Manchester United. Just leave. Must feel good to have a 'failed twice at utd' column on his CV.

Not marketable? He must have the most social media followers of all our players. More followers than Hazard and Salah who are arguably the best players in the league. Barca have been pimping out their ageing stars to speak favourably of him in the press. He'd definitely have suiters. The only thing that might be in question is how much clubs are willing to pay for him.

Bored of this now.

If people think you've got a problem with someone it is very hard to prove the opposite. I've no idea how they get on behind the scenes but I very much doubt that Pogba will leave before the end of January and I also doubt that Mourinho will be our manager next season. So in the end all of this nonsense will be moot.

I think Mourinho has played this well. It firstly started as Pogba was inconsistent because of Mourinho not using him right and criticising him often. Now, Mourinho has praised Pogba a lot despite stories, gave him the captaincy in a match and given him seemingly free roles at times already this season.

Now, with Riola making twat comments a couple weeks back and now this, Pogba gets little to no sympathy from many people.

From blaming only Mourinho if Pogba left to shifting the majority of the blame to Pogba is job done. It's win - win. If he leaves, it's Pogba being weak and if he stays and performs well then it's only beneficial to everyone

Honestly doesn't strike me as a marketable player at all. Looks like your usual hard working player whose only concentration is on the pitch. Not much advertisments, special celebrations, dancing, hair cuts, social media tweeting or posting..etc. Nothing like Pogba. Just a hard working player from the old age for me.

Haha. I misunderstood you. Thought you were talking about our social media star Pogba.

When the press have got rid of Pogba and Mourinho, who will their next target be?

‘Press have got rid’ Jesus - you do realise it’s because we are so miserable and not winning. Stop the conspiracy theories, it’s cringe.

We won two trophies and finished second. Stop being a spoilt bastard. Rebuilding takes time and he has to keep us competitive during the same period.
Why is it a conspiracy theory? Why do you think there are so many negative stories? It's how they sell papers. A few quotes out of context or mistranslations doesn't half get clicks. Just look at this thread.
Try supporting the club.

It is clear he is desperate to leave the club , he has not set the world alight for us anyway. But the timing is wrong now(January) to sell him , we are far too understrenght at the moment to consider it without having a replacement in place to go and having that in January is not going to happen. He will just have to wait until next summer and be professional about it until then.

Don't worry mate I'm supporting the club alright (https://www.redcafe.net/threads/optimism.437975/).
But I'm not going to bury my head in the sand and keep whining when the media / pundits report and discuss our club issues

I’d be happy to listen to the original french interview because the clip here is kind of cut.

But I love Pogba as a French and as someone who has lived 7 years in Guinea, and 15 years in Africa. And I now support Jose even more because I feel something this year. There is only one way for United to get out of this mess and it is to do 30 wins straight in the league. Needless to say it’s gonna be tough but hey, I love that team so here I am hoping. Paul must do better but I don’t think he would disrespect the club to that point. Players often disrespect their national team but Paul is not one of them.

He's a brilliant player and he has been pretty good for us but if him leaving means the circus goes with him, then so be it. We can't be having the team dragged through the newspapers every week because he wants to be the centre of attention.
He’s no where near good enough for all the baggage he brings with his constant need for attention.

No we cannot. Those midfielders you listed on our team aren't better than him. Which attacking midfielder will light up the PL with his performances? You're here thinking Pogba is easily replaceable, and we've already brought in Mkhytarian and Sanchez, and none have been successes. Even Fred who we just brought in hasn't been better than Pogba. We can't assume everyone we bring in will just be better than Pogba.

Again, it says it all that people think Pogba is replaceable and yet a lot of our players aren't doing as well as him.
