Pogba's says his future is at United and has many years on contract

You do know only two players have cost more than that?
I do know.

Coutinho was around that. Neymar. Dembele? Mbappe. These are good players but not great players. Mbappe has potential.

The Chelsea keeper went for nuts money. Van dijjk. Pogbas definitely worth 150m in the market.

Well he's already varied in quality wildly from god awful to the point of even mentioning it himself to quite good, so I wouldn't say he's quite done what he's supposed to.
Ahhhhh, this arguments been done way too often already on the caf. Whatever happens, I don’t think Pogba is leaving for the foreseeable future.

The media, pundits, ex-United players, the class of '92, the caf, ABUs and critics will hang Jose if he dares drop the great, untouchable, never-ever-been-seen-in-history GOAT, Paul Pogba.

They will dissect Jose's man management skills, call him a disruptive manager and an enemy of all flair players - dead and alive.

Jose will probably give him the arm band in the next game to further appease the midfield god and convince the world that he does worship Pogba and adores all other flair players.
Sorry but this is bollocks.

There’s a large constituency of people who are highly sceptical of Jose, but back him 100% in his dealings with Pogba.

Even if his words have been twisted, he and his agent have been stoking the fire since he was deservedly dropped last season.
He has become more trouble than he’s worth and the media are loving it.
Contrast Pogba and his media image to that of Lukaku. He’s always full of praise for United and Jose. He does what a paid employee of a business SHOULD DO.
Meanwhile, Pogba, who is also an extremely well paid employee, is stirring up trouble for the business and is staining our brand. In any other walk of life, you would be kicked out on your arse and your contract cancelled.

Argument? It's as good as fact.

I agree. Mourinho have made similar comments before. Remember when he pumped up the rumours of him leaving and called PSG's project 'special' after saying he won't be spending the rest of his career here. He could have just said 'I'm staying'.
Of course. Fans are getting wound up by nonsense. Firstly the comments have been misquoted. And secondly saying 'who knows what the future holds' is normal for anyone. Nobody knows the future for a fact. Do people want him to come out and say he's going to retire here after 10 years or something? Which player ever does that? There isn't loyalty like that in football. Players come and go and managers come and go.
If he stays we keep a top player and possibly regains his form under a different manager. If he goes then majority of people get their wish. I don't understand what the problem is.

Sound isn’t great

He didn't say near future, that translation can only be malicious. He said that his future was with Manchester and that he was under contract for many years.

Which means he's really good. Mbappe and Neymar are really good.

Yes. Pogba could easily come out and say 'nah, I'm totally happy with the manager and club. The media are twisting things. The end.'
Best case, it turns out his agent is coaching him for a better contract. But it's not half messy.

It really isn't. Its' standard talk for a player who wants out at some stage.

Let him leave after this season and take Raiola with him. Not like he's been dropping 10/10 performances. We need to replace him properly though, 2 good midfielders atleast.

Could someone explain to me why they think Pogba wants to leave United? I'll put forward some questions with my opinion below.

Does he dream of playing in Spain ala Ronaldo and always wanted to play for his boyhood club/s

Unlike Ronaldo, Pogba surely could've went to Spain or any big club after juve, being one of the worlds most sought after players. Hes not exactly been a raw talented 18 year old from funchal who has suddenly became a balon d'or winner.
So if the above isn't the case has he used us as a stepping stone?

Does he want to be paid as highly as some of the biggest names in football such as Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar?

We are simply one of the highest wage payers in the world, If not the first. Money isn't a problem for us.

Does he hate living in Manchester like di maria?

He sounds abit Manc, spent alot of his life here and has very good mates here not just at United but elsewhere in England.

Below is the most understandable reason imo

Is he fed up of mourinho?

Probably - but him and his agent are going about it the wrong way and in doing so pissing off alot of fans.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Mbappe has potential to be very good. Neymar is good, but lacks something at times, and his attitude is poor (200m)
Coutinho is good but not amazing and dembele has potential. Pogba was bought for 89m 2 years ago and the market has inflated more since then.

He's been only occasionally very good for us but I still feel 150m is what we could get for him.

He has an Ego that far exceeds his actual performances on the pitch

He doesn't have the fight, or the mentality to put the work in required to succeed as a top player in the PL.He seems to think that he is to good to demean himself by actually putting some effort in.

Better chance to win more trophies including the CL maybe? He did say he wanted more trophies after the World Cup.

Best case he leaves and we get rid of the biggest show pony we have had the misfortune to play for our great club.

Many people will ignore this

Exactly. Professional, hard-working and not a diva. He got rid of the clown Raiola and isn't crying in the press every two days. Seems Lukaku is a better friend of Sanchez than Pogba now, and I'm sure neither Sanchez nor Lukaku would ever come out with all the bullshit Pogba is doing after getting the captain's armband...

For a boy who supposedly loves United, he has no clue whatsoever how to show it.

Can he just not shut up, him and his agent constantly flapping their gums.

Thanks. I hope somebody updates the thread title so the meltdown can stop.

So why did he sign for us a few years ago? Leaving a successful Juve side to join us. Unless he completely misread how much work needed doing to the club, I don't genuinely believe he came here thinking we would oust Madrid, Barca, JUVE, Bayern and even city for the champions league, and automatically win the league.

He knew what he was getting himself in for - a too good to be true wage, be the most expensive player and a come back to the club he loved - people don't realise how much of his life he spent in Manchester and how many people he is close with here.

It's a fecking mockery that this cnut wheres the captains armband.

The shit he's pulling he shouldn't even be in the fecking match day squad. I don't care how good he can be (when bothered), I want him dropped and not played again then sold in January.

And before people say I'm just a hater.... I watched Pogba many many times in the Youth team and was gutted when he chose to leave last time.

Now I just think he's an arrogant big time charlie. What a shame the way his is ending (again)

The club need to fully back Jose and not let any player behave like this. It's impossible for Jose to do a proper job when this shit is happening.

feck it. Id rather sell Pogba and blow the £200 mill on a Kane and Lukaku strike force. Matic Fred Lingard Sanchez can play some sort of 4 in midfield. How hard could it be to out score opponents with them two upfront together.

Pogba should stop distributing easy snacks to vultures. Not too difficult to bypass any questions. Get on with your football and if you do want to leave just organise the move behind the scenes.

Kane could turn up here and underperform. It'd probably be the same cycle all over again.

I wish we had a break from all this drama. It's not like everything else is rosy that we can afford to waste energy on Pogba, even if it's just misquotes.

Yeh. Some posters can be easily identified though, who are here just flaming the situation.

Paul Pogba is the only person 'flaming' the situation - he's not daft, he knows if he gives the press an inch they'll take a mile. He loves the attention and it's doing United and Jose no favours.

If Fergie was in charge, he'd be saying nobody is bigger than the club and the fans would agree wholeheartedly. Jose really needs everyone pulling in the same direction - it's a crucial time for the club.

I respect your opinion but I find it difficult to agree that he lacks the fight and mentality to put the work (physically?) in when playing in the premier league. As someone who has never played in the world cup, serie a, the prem I can't comment on which is the most demanding. I can only go off what I see as a spectator.

If he can't be arsed performing for us then he has not got a chance in hell of succeeding at Barca. I dont want to accuse you of belittling continental leagues but Pogba will not walk any league as a main man without fight and mentality.

Maybe he is just naive and easily led on by Mino whispering things in his ear with the sole purpose of making commission from a transaction.

From my point of view, he's starting to look a bit pathetic. Punches are only being thrown one way now. I don't think he's played anywhere near to a level that justifies it all, certainly not consistently. He's there saying that he'll always give his all for the football club, a couple weeks after he came out and questioned his own mentality going into a fixture. If he was performing consistently well, he might be worth listening to but the fact that none of us are particularly arsed says it all.

It would still require a centre back pairing that's solid.

I think what we need is a real captain to keep our divas in check and lead by example. Valencia is never going to be the player who gives Pogba a dressing down for acting like a spoilt toddler on the pitch waving his hands around instead of chasing the ball he lost.

I think Maguire could turn into that if we get him in 'the near future'.
