Pogba

But that is what I mean give him a contract for 2 years and get rid of others first then sell him next summer. Either way if he goes it’s no loss but we need a big overhaul in CM
A contract isn't 'given', it is an agreement between two parties. No fit good player would agree a two year contract at his age, they would go elsewhere.

What’s this nonsense I heard on SSN tonight that Pogba’s waiting to hear who the new manager is before deciding his future. Is he that cocky and we are that weak as a club to dish out another huge contract if he says, “I’ll stay actually as I like the sound of this new manager “. Joke!

Yeah this is where himself Rashford Martial etc all stopped playing for him. It’s because he made them all depressed? As someone who has had depression they can fk off with this absolute shit
Pogba and Martial were in some of the best form they’ve shown for us in Jose’s final months…. He probably would’ve been sacked earlier if they’d ‘stopped playing for him’.

Yep, found it both arrogant yet quite amusing.

Paul, they don't need to prove themselves to you, pal. You need to prove yourself to them.

The sooner players with a similar attitude go the better for us in the long term.

Same, I wish the club took a harder stance on such cases, because it has nought to do with the new manager.

On french media today, when asked if his form is poorer in club compared to the NT, he acknowledged that it is but he knows his role for NT. But doesn't know if he has a role at United. So the presenters were debating if it's his fault or not, which was hilarious...
The guy is inconsistent and uncommitted but expects to be given a role.

Couldn’t agree more, I really think once Pogba has gone this player arrogance and self entitlement within this team may dissipate, I’d be genuinely gutted if he ended up staying, for me he represents everything that is wrong with this club right now.

I am done with Pogba, but I also have 0 confidence on our current midfield (McFred).

We will need to spend big this summer to buy at least 2 new midfielders.

If you were ever in doubt just how toxic the United fanbase has become this is the thread to go into.

I think the decline has already started. The injuries have definitely took their toll.
Agreed, he is noticeably slower. He should probably go back to Italy and play out his last years, I don’t think he will play beyond 32/33.

Pretty much every much every other player has a set position.

Pogba should be taking this as a huge hint as to why he's the only one without a set role.

Because the club don't buy players to unlock him mate. What a useless club, won't even buy another player to unleash potential for the most expensive club signing ever.

It is on par with the state of the club. The players decide pretty much everything. The board is just interested in handing out huge contracts with silly money. Pretty sure come summer, we will only be running behind players who cost silly fees and wages.

He said nothing wrong, it's better than leaking stuff and not coming forward with what he really thinks like a lot of other players.

It's also pretty much a fact he has wasted a significant part of his career with United.

Pogba was a significant part of the problem

Then again replace Pogba with any other player and this particular stance doesn't seem that arrogant. It's terrible PR for sure but in reality, if I know among my possibilities, there is a contract extension with my current club and there will be a new manager, of course I'd wanna know who it'd be and his plans.

Cant wait till he leaves finally. I hope board wont be mad to give him a huge salary if he will be up for it.

There’s been an offer on the table for months, he’ll go elsewhere & win things while fans such as yourself find another pariah. He’s not staying for the money, he can get that elsewhere so what now. . .
Can he though? The fact he keeps on he's not deciding until the summer, waiting to see who is the new manager etc. If someone had offered what he wants he would have already signed a pre contract and would be bragging about it.

"...At Manchester United do I really have a role? I ask the question but I don't really have an answer".

With his talent he should have been able to establish himself in any role or position he liked. That he failed to do so is primarily down to him. Like most of us, I'm sorry it didn't work out, but I think it's best that he moves on at the end of the season. The most important thing now is that United move on.

I’m glad that he is leaving and hope the club are not stupid enough to meet his demands, or even renew at the same wage. I’m fed up with this guy, he has one good game in ten or more games. He is also injury prone. Get rid of him and never buy a player who has that fat cnut for an agent.

Absolute myth.

What a massive disappointment this guy was. All that talent, but none of the mentality and desire to be successful in this game. Basically culminated in nothing more than a few purple patches throughout his entire career here. I actually thought he might have been the biggest mistake SAF made, but no... Should never have doubted the GOAT.

Not commenting on his mental health except to say it can happen and impact anyone so I hope he is better

As for his blame game - any fingers pointing back at himself or does he expect the world to revolve around him? He had 5 years to establish himself and club bent over backwards at times to play him in all kinds of position that may work and he hardly claimed any of them. It sounds like he was unhelpful in the decision making process if he was asking himself the question

Correct.

I can't wait for him to leave.

When a player deliberately invites pressure from opposition players, just so that he can show how strong he is in brushing them off, you're onto a loser.

A style over substance footballer.

I like how you confidently call something an absolute myth when most of the pundits and the footballing world in general accepts this. He is either injured or plays like crap. Come back from injury, has a great game or two, then fades back to being mediocre. Rinse and repeat.

Except for the one spell he had after Jose left, he has been this way in his entire tenure at United. Inconsistent to the bone.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who sees this - I said the same thing about 2 years back.. Even if we ignore the fact that he thinks defending is beneath him and Jogs around the pitch putting in the barest shadow of effort. The fact that when he gets the ball he purposely holds on to it as long as possible to invite pressure. It's like he thinks he's so good that he says "i'll decide when i pass the ball, i'm not going to let you dictate it to me"

We have an £80mil CB along with his chuckle brother at LB who think defending is beneath him more often than not.

Pogba should go but fans are in for a massive shock if they think that happening & replacing him with X Player will change much.

A quality player but let's be honest he isn't suddenly going to become a disciplined and consistent midfield leader after six years in his second spell at the club.

The fact he has briefed the media so many times about his future has been thoroughly disrespectful to the club and the fanbase.

He has a superstar ability but a poor attitude - Fergie was seldom wrong and he wasn't wrong about letting Pogba go the first time.

The problem is there are others with similar senses of entitlement in the squad who simply do not back up their high profile and massive wages with regular performances.

If we were able to get rid of Pogba, Shaw and Maguire in this window it would be a huge step in rebuilding the squad with the right players.

Check your history mate.....Fergie definitely did not want to let him go.

He's wasted the last 5 years at United apparently. I'd say we've wasted 5 years waiting for him to step up. Off you feck, Paul.

I remember him doing that on his debut, can't believe he's still doing it.

Absolute state of this. My expectations are low for the Daily Star but come on.

Still remember seeing the controversy over his signing from Le Harve, getting interested because of that, seeing every little clip of youth football and him looking amazing. Then he started getting those tiny cameos for the first team, I was even at one of them when he got minutes against West Brom and there was some optimism he'd actually stay. Even when he went to Juventus I was excited to get to see him play properly, watching his highlight videos and matches when I could. Honestly it was the most excited I'd been about a player in a long time and I was absolutely loving it when we signed him back.

Cut to all these years later and its hard to argue he has been anything but an abject failure. Even as his biggest fan and defender I have to admit all in all he has been a total waste of money and time. His purple patches can be spectacular but so rare and so short lived. The drama and nonsense he, his agent and family bring are embarrassing. He's 29 now and ok done well for the national team but he hasn't made his mark at United at all and I will actually be glad to see the back of him.

So much time wasted discussing what we needed to do to get the best out of him, so many false dawns, so much giving the ball away because all he wants to do is show off how he can hold off a few players. At this point I don't even care if he goes and rips it up at another team, he is obviously not going to do it at United and I can't wait to move on from the never ending cycle of hope and disappointment.

So long Pogba, you failed.

I hate to say this as I have defended him so much over the years but let him play in the reserves for the rest of the season. He doesn't deserve even to sit on the bench of the first team since the "season is dead"

Pogba has to take some accountability for the team - his moaning the second he is back in France is so annoying. Good riddance

He moans about not having a specific role and style of.play within the team as well as not fighting for trophies but he had exactly all those things under mourinho and was inconsistent under him as the rest 9f the managers and even got to the point of downing tools under him in his last season.

He has no excuses.

This happens cause large numbers of the fanbase acted like a jealous bf from day one & found it difficult to believe he may want to be here so looked for every excuse to lash out.

His career here has been poor, his performances at times have been woeful but read any Pogba thread & there’s an element of hatred thats so irrational. He spoke of his mental health & people are in threads questioning his words ffs!

Just find it insane that they can write that he said the club is dead to him when he never said that. There's twisting words and then there's that. The whole 'toxic' thing needs to die as well.
